Does anyone know the proper way to edit the key bindings in the Input_QWERTY.ini file?

IK_Q=(Gamekey=GI_UseAbility,Value=1.000000)
IK_R=(Gamekey=GI_UseItem,Value=1.000000)
IK_RightMouse=(Gamekey=GI_AttackStrong,Value=1.000000)
IK_S=(Gamekey=GI_AxisLeftY,Value=-1.000000)
IK_Space=(Gamekey=GI_Accept_Evade,Value=1.000000)
IK_Up=(GameKey="GI_Up",Value=1)
IK_W=(Gamekey=GI_AxisLeftY,Value=1.000000)
IK_X=(Gamekey=GI_Adrenaline,Value=1.000000)
IK_Z=(Gamekey=GI_Medallion,Value=1.000000)
IK_F5=(Gamekey=GI_F5,Value=1.000000)

I want to change these to use my bluetooth number pad

Can't you change hotkeys/key bindings at the launch menu?

TW2 does something different from mosnter hunting though. Instead of the classic "go out and kill x number of monsters" the quest actually tells you to do the most logical type of action, take out the source. For the nekkers it's the nests and the endriga's the egg sacs then the Queen. I had fun doing both.

I agree, it's a subtle deviation that makes the whole quest seem less arbitrary than killing X number of monsters. It also means you need to figure out the best way to combat the threat.

Three things:
I'm at the Flotsam chapter finale, it's finally starting to be a lot of fun.
Iorveth is probably my favorite character.

*SPOILERS*

Loved walking through the town with Iorveth to get to the barge, regret not going to talk with Roche and see what he offers though.

*/SPOILERS*

Glad you gave it enough time to get the hang of it. The game does have a bit of a curve, but once ya get the hang of it. It's really a great game.

Think the last thing I have to do in chapter one is to kill the Krayan.. So far failing miserably at it.

Think I might make a dent in Floatsam today. It's gonna take me weeks to get to Act 2.

I did that last night and this afternoon. Doing every side quest I could possibly find.

I tried, but the key binding menu doesn't recognize input from the Number Pad

I'm under the impression you can't change the movement keys themselves (W, S, A, D) at least the config menu didn't let me when I tried.

I just finished Chapter One, and I have to say this about one of the characters:

Seriously, who doesn't love a no-nonsense badass like Vernon Roche? The guy gets the job done, no matter what, and is intensely loyal to his country, no matter who is on the throne. He is the only true patriot in the swarms of hypocrites and liars featured in this game. In some ways, I find him very refreshing.

So, I nominate him as one of video gaming's best sidekicks for 2011.

hey I'm nearing the end of chapter1 and I stumped upon a ghost/wraith in the swamps..

This was in swamp at night (where all the frogs croak). The ghost appeared at the spot when you first enter that area under the hanged elf. Now i was fighting with a few drowners when she? appeared. I say she because it was labeled Kayona or something.
I got it down to half heath before it disappeared.. and it hasn't shown up since

I thought that this might be important or a spoiler/part of a quest. I'm hestiant to finish the chapter and miss out.

spoilers ?

I think I figured out how to do it.

You have to open Input_QWERTY.ini

find the line "IK_W=(Gamekey=GI_AxisLeftY,Value=1.000000)"

and change "W" to "NumPad8"
same goes for changing "A" "S" "D" to NumPad4, NumPad2, NumPad6

I don't think I'm getting this fight. Lop off the 4 limbs and how do you finish it off? I see a glowing portion but I run to it to attack, I get shocked to death or crushed by rocks. What am I missing here?

Edit: and of course the second I post the question, I figure it out go fig.

Heh, I did that when first playing Witcher 1. I've had it bookmarked since.

Also got to be careful with the guide that comes with the CE of TW2; the side quests are typically listed *after* all the main/alternative stuff. For now it's more reliable than the witcher wiki, until the wiki gets updated more fully.

Run round the other side, go up the fallen stone, and see what happens...

^ Much as I'm enjoying this game, that battle made me want to cry. *spoiler* Not only do you end the battle by inexplicably running to trigger a cutscene, you don't even get to take the last HP. There are some odd, gimmicky combat moments. I just wanted to use all my Witcher build to fight the giant squid monster, not dodge tentacles over and over again just to be stuck and do it over and over. (Granted, I did play this as a preview, so I couldn't get a hint.)

Indeed, I got the GoG edition so I don't think I have the guide, but I hate the idea of moving on knowing that I missing at least 2 maybe 3 sidequests.

I just beat the Draug. Awesome fight. Wish there were more in games like that. So, after 20+ hours in the game, I'm actually going to give my pro/con list (for no real reason other than I feel like writing one):

Pros:
+ Dialogue is fantastic. Probably the best I've ever seen in a game.
+ The consequences are great
+ Inventory
+ Graphics work well even on low settings (on a Mac)
+ Meditation, and Alchemy
+ Less of an emphasis on Geralt's homicidal libido

Cons:
- I hate semi-open worlds. I especially hate when they change location every so often.
- Some of the dialogue feels pointless and forced if you choose an "out of character" response.

I am very much like that, but not on my first playthrough. In that one I just go with whateever the game presents me. The wiki or a guide would distract me from the fun. In succesive playthoughs I don't mind and will start to approach it like a science and get most of the achievements. Yes, I have the Steam version. ;)

I was doing the Claws and Madness quest, and it was multiple wraiths.  I finally figured out a strategy for fighting more than one.
