Wow this thread was like 70 pages long back before the release. I finished the game and it was great! There were some annoyances and bugs but apart from that it was amazing. CDPR delivered, thank you. My biggest disappointments [Spoiler] were lack of an awesome foreshadowing cutscene after credits though I guess the whole Epilogue was like a set up for TW3 ... I have been sitting on the edge of my chair and eagerly waiting but we got only Geralt looking at the ruin and the only plothole that I could find in the whole story which was: Assassin that went after Foltest was from Letho's Witcher group but he is not mentioned by Letho or the other Witchers. [Spoiler]

I would give it a 9.7/10. Witcher 3 some minor tweaks, more and even bigger locations and it will be great. :)

Who said Geralt's Voice Actor can't act? He burns very convincingly!

No bonus or imported items used in my new Hard diff run, well, except for the damn great Herbalist's gloves. QTE disabled only for this part. I doubt anyone dares Insane diff with QTE on. Seems to be some bug too. Don't run right away or you're dead!

Wait a minute, I didn't get any QTE in this part. That's the bug you are talking about?

Actually the first assassin toward Foltest in TW1 is not necessary from the same group as Letho. [Spoiler] Because all three witchers include Letho have shown in TW2 depending on the alliance u choose in chapter 1.

I dislike being only able to chug potions during meditation. I miss my Blizzard potion, it would make many fights against mobs much easier. Probably the reason why it was cut.

Alchemy overall is pretty disappointing.

Welcome to the thread.

Don't worry about the ending. CDProjekt said instead of small dlc they want full blown expansions.

The best combinations are from best to worst:

  • Five of a kind
  • Four of a kind
  • Full house
  • Big street (values 2-6)
  • Small street (values 1-5)
  • Three of a kind
  • Two pairs
  • One pair

If you have Difficult QTE ON, you'll need to press RMB to take cover after start running...  (after the first RMB which I didn't click so I could capture the BBQ). But the bug I mentioned is that, if you start running right away when the first QTE is done, (with Foltest on your shoulder) the dragon will kill Geralt and Foltest. If you delay the running for a bit, somehow it works better to evade the dragon's charge.

I think it is cool. There's a whole class dedicated to it and it seems powerful if well used. Get the extended pots/oils duration mod though. 10 mins is a PITA since usually the cutscenes will consume great deal of the original duration! hehe

Drop them in the middle, or throw from a low height with very little mouse movement

dont bother trying for straights, your odds are too low

if your first throw gives you pap, hold the highest die, throw the rest

always hold pairs no matter how bad, triples are pretty often

Yes I have the difficult QTE on, the thing is that no mouse icon ever comes up, Geralt does it on his own.
Maybe it's bound to the difficulty settings too?

Just finished the game. *Big Spoilers at the end* Skip over my post unless you've beaten the game

I saved Triss instead of helping Roche secure Temeria's future. So without me, he goes in hot-headed as always and massacres the kaedweni camp, and is now an outlaw. He rescued the princess without me, but until she is of age, the barons are going to run amuk, bickering over each other.

Dethmold got away, and I let Sile blow herself up by not switching out the crystal. You can't monologue like a big bad, and really expect me to help you, can you?

I let Letho go. He outsmarted everyone, and his death meant nothing anymore. Geralt lost the game, except the one thing that truly mattered to him; he still had Triss (the sneaky withholding-information sorceress that she is). Yennefer doesn't even matter anymore.

End spoilers

I'm just starting to replay it, and it's cool to see how much the game changes. I wonder how different Chapter 2 will be based on a particular choice.

*CH2 spoilers*
It is very different. I only got to explore around 10% of the Dwarven city but the army camp was completely open for me on my first playthrough but now on my second playthrough I get to explore the dwarven city fully and have completely different quests available.

Spoilers:

I wouldn't say Yennefer doesn't matter anymore since it looks like she will be Geralt's motivation in TW3. Also does Triss die if we don't go to save her? Or does she show up later on her own?

Awesome!
These are 2 ending I achieved so far. Spoiler ALART!!

My spoiler 1:
Im helped Roche secure the future Queen and return her into hands of trusted temerian noble. Dethmold got his castration and death from Roche. During the chaos, Letho saved Triss and kept her safe until my white wolf drank up his vodka then ended his life.

Spoiler 2:
Sided with Iorveth, and free blind Phillipa then enter her champer achieved the spellbroker dagger. After the fight with dragon, Saskia was saved. Again Letho saved Triss and held her hostage until Geralt finished him.

Spoiler:

Dont worry about that, Letho will keep her save under any circumstance. The only difference is if you chose save her first, either Roche or Iorveth would be beaten up and Saskia the dragoness would die.
