Meh. King of the Wild Hunt being the ghost of Geralt's past(s) is a very lame plot development... not that this couldn't already be extrapolated from the cutscene in the cave in the Outskirts of Vizima in Act 1 of TW1; not to mention his whole "you are my tool of Chaos, mwahahaha" evil speech at the end of TW1.

Btw, Triss & Geralt being together at the beginning of TW2 is apparently CANON. It doesn't matter if you previously had a tryst with Shani in TW1. CD Projekt really dropped the ball there, imo.

I can´t help thinking the CDP leads are Geralt-Triss shippers. The situation reminds me of ME2 with Liara. The one who gives all for the main character is put aside for another who was there and didn´t.

I thought the Wild Hunt in Witcher world were elves from another plane?

[Spoiler]

They are elves from another sphere. I thought it was a very good development - Geralt selling his soul to the Hunt, it explains why was Wild Hunt was following Geralt in TW1. I see where the plot is going in TW3. We search for Yennefer while the invasion happens and learn the motives of the Wild Hunt and now we are even presented with a way to kill the King and his riders which was thought impossible before.

Yeah and CDPR did drop the ball for Shani fans. Writers obviously like Triss more though it can be argued that Shani has really no life with Geralt. She is simply a simple human girl who just doesn't fit into Geralt's world. I'm more interested in how they will resolve Triss-Geralt-Yennefer triangel.

Got that aswell, I'm only playing without Ubersampling since it has no noticable effects whatsoever (only FPS drops :P).

What type of processor do you have.  I'm playing with a 560TI (I have a twin frozr 560) and a I7 960 and i have everything on, ubersampling included and I'm getting 20 FPS, with ubersmapling off, I got 35-40.  But the game is running smoothly with 20 FPS so I leave ubersmapling on.

So if you have a decent processor, you should be able to run the game on ultra.

i'm getting myself the zotac gtx560ti AMP version with 950MHz stock and probably OC it to over 1000MHz :P.

i'm using dual core only Core2Duo E6600 @ 3.20GHz. i believe the bottleneck is at my graphics card.

what resolution you guys can play it at? I hope ultra at 1920x1080? everything ultra except SSAO or ubersampling will be fine by me.

I play at 1920 x 1080

The game just looks awesome with uber on. I need to look into overclocking the card, it's clearly bottlenecked. I may need to just get a new one, it's running at 99% fulltime, so I'm sure it's bottlenecked.

1680x1050, I have absolutely no need for higher resolution.

I've made a lot of really close up screenshots to check out the texture differences, and I have found nothing really noticeable.

I have, especially during cutscenes.  I may go through and replay some sections without it on, and post some screenshots.

That was in fact the slide I got in my game. Geralt realizing he could not form a kind of family with Alvin and Shani. What I didn´t like about that romance was that Shani felt so much like Essi Daven from that tale in the second book.

So the game always starts with Triss in the tent even if you didn´t choose her?

I know, I've also found them, but they are really minor background changes, it doesn't worth it.

Don't know if it was posted here, but running TW2 with the GOG.exe gives a signifficant performance plus.

Running TW2 with GOG.exe? What do you mean? I'm playing GoG version though. And i bought retail too. CDPR deserve my cash.. Every penny of it.

It means that playing with the GOG version you should have a higher fps compared to playing with the retail version (probably because gog.exe has no drm?). If you have the retail version installed you can just override the exe (game exe, not the launcher!) with the one from the gog version of the game.
Also the game will start much faster.

It's not even background, the armor and everything looks better.  Even moreso when you get in sunlight and moonlight and things like that.

Playing oldschool games must have impaired my eyesight. There is nothing there to justify a huge performance drop for me. It's not like tessellation or Dx11 shadows.

That's the whole thing I don't have a performance drop. The game doesn't lag, stutter, and I can even record full 1920x1080 videos while playing and it still runs smoothly.

And full size on my monitor the difference is quite noticable.

Aaleel what card are you using? Does the game use PhysX?

Edit
Oops sorry just noticed you were using MSI TwinFrozr II 560Ti. What are your clockspeeds? Did you OC it?

Not a fan of wood dildos. What happens if a woman gets a splinter using that thing. How hard would that be to get out?

560 TI Twin Frozr

Make sure you get the new nvidia beta drivers, made a huge difference.

275.27 and do not install the 3D drivers.

I have it at 950 Core Clock, 1900 Shader clock.  2150 Memory Clock.  Haven't hade to touch the voltage yet.  When I feel like testing I may try to get the core up to 1000.   The Twin Frozr runs really cool, even OC it hasn't gone past 57c.
