The Legendary "The Witcher 2" RPG.

The first two acts were a bit better than the final one, but all the dangling plot threads were wrapped up except for one. At least that one remained because of my decisions rather than the developers.
I can see myself playing through this one at least another couple of times. For me it has moved into a tie with Gothic 2 for the title of best action-RPG of all time. A well-done expansion pack would put it over the top.

That's cause we're playing the game
As for the destructoid review who cares that same person gave Call of Duty Mordern Warfare 2 a 9.5.

Dude, you certainly know your games! G2 is one of my favourites and thanks to TW2/GoG I got the Gold Edition with NotR which was never released where I live!

BTW ... Madness Mutagen? LOL ... does it come in Greater Madness version too? hahaha

- Five install limit from Securom... and it still requires the disc in the drive.
- Six days after launch and I still can't connect to TW2's servers or community. Had to download Troll Troubles off alternate mirrors.
- Lack of key remapping.
- Lack of savegame deletion function (folder bloated up to almost three gigs after my second playthrough).
- Inventory sure as hell can use a "sort" button, especially the recipes.
- Junk loot is labeled "junk" and doesn't have a category for itself (can only find them in the All Items category)
- Combat is a bit non-responsive (I've read this differs between Steam, GoG, and retail versions, but will be addressed in the next patch).
- Dialogue misfires (happens every now and then, like if the castle burns in Geralt's escape Roche chastises you for causing a ruckus AND compliments you for sneaking out quietly.
- Runes, armor upgrades, and mutagens can't be removed once applied. It makes sense, but it's a very annoying lesson for initial playthroughs.
- No storage. Good lord, I'm the "explorer" and "packrat" type of gamer, handing me a piece of equipment labeled "EPIC" or "RARE" and forcing me to sell it off for gold and inventory space is a stab in the heart.
- Some voice acting disparities, most noticeable with Geralt who sometimes has lines that sound like they were read months apart after the voice actor forgot what he was supposed to sound like. Not quite as bad as Murdock in Redcliffe though.
About the only thing that can't be addressed by patches or mods is the voice acting issue, so my satisfaction rating with TW2 is fairly high and can only go higher.

You can remap keys from the Video and Language settings at the launcher.
Gog mods There is utility for deleting saves. Sucks that game doesn't erase old autosaves or quicksaves.

So since more people are finishing up the game, I guess I can ask which version of Act 2 you guys liked more. Roche or Iorveth?

Oh hey, thanks, didn't even think to look anywhere other than in-game menus. I knew about that savegame utility (stumbled across it the same time I found the zero weight mod), but it's stil kinda annoying that CDP didn't think of including a delete function beforehand considering how quickly the folder bloats up. Fortunately it's easy enough to manually delete savegames.Ringo12 wrote...

One of the best quests right up there with Hung Over.

That battle annoyed me because I didn't think you could drink potions. (Rendering alchemy useless.) Where can you drink a potion?
i find this much more realistic then see a warrior with both hands used... example shield and blade or two blade.. drinking potion in middle of the fight when the opponent hit you... Im glad they removed the in combat drinking.. but maybe its just me

Currently on my third playthrough, it's a damn good game with a few annoying flaws (but nothing that completely kills the game for me):
- Lack of savegame deletion function (folder bloated up to almost three gigs after my second playthrough).

- Junk loot is labeled "junk" and doesn't have a category for itself (can only find them in the All Items category)

These are the points I agree. Some I don't suffer at all since I own GoG DRM free version and the DLC installed on day 1. As for the combat being non-responsive, yes, it is true. Sometimes I keep trying to use a sign, vigor bar full, and nothing happens for a long time. And it's not the "must end action before new one" thing. It's just a bug of some sort. If enemies are far, I keep preesing "use sign" and some 5-10 seconds later it works. Else I have to roll and it works immediately after. Perhaps is that sq. pixel in the map that does it? There are more than one spot with that problem but I noticed that it usually happens on the same spot of the map.
As for the combat itself, in my first run, Normal diff, those first 2 Wraiths in CoM quest gave me such a pain. About 10 or more reloads. And with my imported/bonus items too. This run on Hard diff I made short of them in a few minutes, didn't even got injured, finished the quest without much trouble and I'm using only vanilla items from the game.
Again, experience with the game, any game, particularly those more challenging, is awesome and of course when my char reaches higher level he should be much more powerful than at start. Otherwise he wouldn't be a hero but a wuss! And as someone replied to this on GoG:
That is also what I love about this game. Like real life, if you set the bar low you will only jump low. If you set the bar high you will try to jump high and soon enough you will be leagues ahead of those who only trained on the low bar.
Hard forces you to adapt and to get better...quickly.
