If I had to find a fault in this game somewhere, it would definately be the appearance and new VO for Triss. I can't help but feel that in TW1, she was a wise but dangerous woman who was in every way Geralt's match. She was very much, an adult.
In TW2, she looks like she is about 24 and sounds like it too. Now all of a sudden, Geralt is sleeping with somebody 20 years younger than him (or more? I have no idea how old Geralt might actually be).
Wish there was a mod to give her back her TW1 appearance.
Agreed. She is more like Shani voice/appearance wise now. While in TW1 she was a woman around thirty, strong, independent and cunning. Looked like it too. Sure wonder why that was changed. It wasn't a good decision. And the old VO actress was much better too.
Yay! We agree on something! (Actually, I'm sure when it comes to TW2, we'd agree on a lot more than we did on DA2)

Yep, I'm going to have to download a few TW1 saves too. My old computer died a horrible horrible death, and my new one only has 1 save on it (Neutral, Triss) - which is my favorite/personal canon approach, but I think given TW2's plot, it would be far more interesting to import a Scoia'tel/Order save. Dunno how much impact choosing Shani would make (seeing as Geralt seems to end up with Triss regardless?)
Choosing Shani makes no difference whatsoever in TW2. My biggest complaint, really.

I like him except for his voice at some parts. A little too rough, and he is sorta one dimensional after you and him arrive at Vergen. I thought he would be his own man, but he sort of is just Saskia's pawn.
Triss I had a hard time with cuz I kept thinking her to be in on the plot. Even after the game I still think she had to have known. How could she be the only member of the Lodge not in on this conspiracy? And the fact that she wasn't makes her seem incompetent.
One thing I wondering about.
In the harpy lair you find peoples dreams. Most people seem to dream about stuff that has happened already. Letho, and the dragon for instance. Iorveth's dream is up in the air on whether or not it has happened. But then you get the peasant one about the Orgy with Saskia. Technically speaking a majority of the dreams actually have happened...so does that mean the Virgin of Aedirn is secretly macking half the town? And if so why the hell can't Geralt plough that lily.

I was wondering about that. Now I don't need to *try* to play TW1 again (or find a save editor, really).

Alright.....just finished playthrough Nr. 2, siding with Iorveth and doing quite a few things differently......
HOLY DAMN.......this ending was even more amazing. Without spoilers.....those who have played it will know what I mean....a scene involving a certain dagger. That was so heartbreakingly moving..... It was almost entirely different, even though it was "just from another angle"......I am utterly amazed just how many differences several choices can make.
I was entirely blown away the first time. This time I'm completely awestruck. FANTASTIC game. I cannot wait for more content.
My first run thru was siding with Ioveth.Well after he got captured.Saved on nonhumans in town. The ending was surpriseing in a way.It is a good game.

One of the CDPR writers did post here though and said that Shani's story isn't over yet. We'll see. But I found it jarring to see NO difference whatsoever. If Triss had at least behaved accordingly......

Isn't that a blasphemous violation of the developer secret handbook of supense for the masses?
(please note that was my feeble and unimpressive attempt at good-natured humor)

Perhaps there will be some kind of 'Shani Hunt' DLC?

Seems like CDPR's marketing strategy is paying off nicely.

Not sure if it's been mentioned - but I hope that the patch (or the next one) allows you more control over saves. I'd like to be able to delete saves within the game, and be able to save OVER old saves, instead of continually building up a massive collection of 20Mb saves!

I personally enjoyed her slight redesign because, having read the 2 books translated into English, I found her more in line with the image the books presented me. She was the only sorceress to appear in the first game and as such she had to project the deviousness and manipulation that define the Lodge by herself while still remaining an atractive option for a romance subplot.
With Sile, Phillipa and to a lesser extent Dethmold and Francesca Findabar picking up that role in this game, Triss could be "softened" up a bit. She is the youngest member of the Lodge and, compared to the others, more idealistic and compasionate. For a sorceress, anyway. The scene with the statue in the elven gardens is most telling, I doubt Triss from the first game would have cared. Besides that, without spoilling anything, there are plot related reasons why she must stand a bit apart from the other sorceresses.
The visual redesign is even more of an improvement, I belive. Compared to what she wears in the first game this outfit manages to be practical, elegant and atractive without feeling offensive or cheap like I found her party dress to be.
Anyways, really excellent game. I have started on my second playthrough immediately after I finished the first. Haven't done this since Mask of the Betrayer.
