wow .. spoiled by awesome screenies..

guys anyone using MSI Geforce GTX560Ti TWIN FROZR II? Care to help enlighten how is the overclockability of this card? I read many reviews saying this is the best GTX560Ti in terms of temperature, noise and OCability.

Thanks all!

Posted Image

Seems to be a decent approximate. But the Twin Frozr Coolers are very good in terms of temperature to noise ratio. I like the cooler so much, I replaced my HD 6850 Toxic's cooler with someone else's HD 6870 Twin Frozr cooler. It's solid. Very good overclocking headroom for my HD 6850 w/ no voltage tweaking and I get 50-60c maximum with only 50% fan speed.

Here's a good guide.

What?  Larger swords than what Geralt uses have been carried across the back in real life Posted Image

He means its impossible to unsheath a long sword from your back, which is true.  Only short swords (2 feet maximum) were sheathed on one's back irl because your arm can only reach up so high to unsheath the blade.  Try for yourself just imagine a 3ft+ sword on your back and you need to pull it all straight up out of a sheath while keeping a full grasp of the handle, not gonna happen.  Longer swords required straps or buckles of some kind to be fascened to the back of ones armor.  You could carry it like you would carry a backpack, but then you would need to unstrap it first rather then simply draw the blade out.

Maybe if you have it tightly strapped across your back, sure, but if you pay attention to the model positions, Geralt's swordbelt is actually pretty loose, meaning that realistically speaking when he draws a sword, the belt and scabbard move forward with the sword over the shoulder, allowing for more manouverability.

Crysis 2 runs on consoles, so why would Witcher 2 be a problem?

You talking about the graphics? Of course it would, because Crysis 2 has apparently lower quality graphics compared to Crysis 1. There was a comparison link somewhere.

The biggest problem with TW2 seems to be memory. Even on minimum settings it needs 3 Gigs of RAM.

Guess they'll have to make it look like Dragon Age 2 or something.

I'm not sure what's the hype for console.. in fact PC can be turned to console easily and since most games support controller for PC now. We can play games in big screen LED TV with full HD, better visuals, keyboard and mouse, social networking, browsing, spreadsheet/word documents, etc. etc. :P

Anyhow i'm pleased they are porting to consoles since there are huge fanbase for consoles. It's worth grabbing the money and go for it.

Couldn't agree with you more on that...it might be that they are going to do the first Witcher for the console first...they were working on one a while back that they scraped to focus on Witcher 2 but to see the game spread to console users is a plus in my opinion.

Sorry to hear about all those that can't play the game...I have a retail version and had no problems...took a little time to download the dlcs (I just had to keep trying) but I finally got them. Not really any lags to speak of either but then I'm running the game on clean boot...just easier that way...I've had programs interfering with games before....nothing like a game crash due to another program cranking up to leave you screaming at the screen especially when you haven't got any recent saves.

Yeah its impossible unless you were to hold the actual blade rather than the grip.

Scabbards for large blades were strapped on at a diagonal angle, rather than strictly vertical.  This allowed the swordsman to draw the blade by pulling it out at an angle, rather than straight up.

True!  <3
I should have done Roche first....because I finished the Iorveth playthrough last night ( ok, reallllllly early this morning) and it was *perfect* I can't imagine playing through again and not siding with him after being through it all.   I am guessing I am going to have a second Iorveth one first making sure to hit all the quests and crafting I missed in the first....   And for what it is worth, it would make me feel like a traitor too!  :crying:  I don't regret anything from that playthrough, it was perfect....except of course the fact it makes any other one more difficult to even contemplate.;)

Ok I have a slightly odd graphical problem. I'm quite happily running the game on max settings in everything, with the sole exception of ubersampling turned off. When I walk into the tavern in Flotsam, depending on the angle I look at the floor or where I am standing, there is a line of bright orange glowing lights coming off the floor, as if it has a series of windows on it.'

That might not make much sense, unless you've had the same problem. I've tried fiddling with most of the graphical options, but can't figure out what might be causing it. Ideas, anybody?

EDIT: The orange shining light coming out of the floor looks identical to that coming out of the windows.  If I wait around till nighttime, when blue-ish light is coming in from the windows, the floor has bluish light coming out of a line of spots (again, as if the floor has a series of windows in it).

I don't KNOW if it is related, but when I installed the game ALL of it was that weird orange glow.  It was some extremely buggy way of showing light I think, as it's source was always real or "supposed" reflected light.  As I could see the different light sources, it wasn't but I digress.

MY problem was something to do with forced AA.  I had to disable forced AA in my CCC and low and behold it worked.  Now, my problem was WAY more constant though.  I ran through the entire opening with that orange glow blurring out everything and honest-to-god believeing they had made a huge stylistic leap to showing how Geralt was having trouble seeing after being beaten or something. lol  It was dark, with orange blurs that blocked out real stuff.

Until the game really started and I could see parts of the map, nameholders etc and couldn't see a thing.

IF it is the same problem, or even related problem you could try to disable forcing AA and AF in CCC and see if it helps.  As yours is only in one location though, not sure that would be it.   IF you even use it. lol If you don't - google and see if anyone else has itl That is how I solved mine.

And if you have Nvidia and use SLI I also had read that you can change SLI Rendering Mode, Select-> Force alternate frame rendering 2 and that worked for some.
