6 points in training.
The good part about that is you have at least two levels of each skill, as most of the Training skills are useless.

If this is just for gaming, you have too much ram. You could have saved about $150 on 6 gigs of ram. (Assuming triple channel). You could have also saved some money on processor. I have a i5 750 OCed to 3.6 ghz, and could probably get it to at least 3.8 if I needed it. Assuming the 2500k/2600k wasn't out when you bought your PC, but a 760 would have sufficed. The money you saved there could have gotten you a second 560, or close to it.Aaleel wrote...

OK I figured it out, there's something wrong with their servers. I downloaded the Day 0 patch from another place and installed that one and the new one, and now it works fine.
28-33 FPS with everything including uber on. Perfect.
Edit: But the best thing about the patch is that I no longer have to wait 30 secs for the game to launch.
what's your system like
I7 960 OC to 4.0 GHZ
MSI 560TI Twin Frozr OC to 1050MHZ
12 Gigs of RAM
Windows 7 64 Bit
Not a monster system by any means.
The processor I have is a monster.
But after that a monster system is like a rampage motherboard, or some other high end motherboard. SLI with like 2 580s, or two high end video cards, Liquid cooling, etc. I spent less than $800 on mine, counting the CPU, Motherboard, RAM, Video Card, Tower & heatsink. People that say you have to spend $1000 or more to make a good PC are crazy.

Aaleel: You restart the game.
If you load an earlier save to redo some boss fight and you die then even your older saves get deleted.
There's no way to get back your saves.
WHAT?? You die in the third act and go back to the prologue?
When you say your older saves, do you mean the saves for the current game, or all of them, even from previous games?
Only those flagged as Insane difficulty, I imagine. Guess you never played Diablo 2 Hardcore? If you died, no matter when, 1 day or 1 year playing the same character, you character is gone forever. It really hurts to lose a high level char there but we overcome and next char gets better and next get even better... And since your saves are stored on Bnet servers, you cannot "cheat" death by reducing difficulty, ever!
And yes, it definitely kills the purpose of Insane, if you die and reload an earlier point saved at lower diff so it's not flagged. I would never feel right. Thus I'll only go Insane when I'm sure to know how to survive always or gladly restart whenever death happens.
I understand Costin and I am not judging. I might do the same as another learning stage for the real Insane challenge and he's honest enough to admitt that he reduces difficulty for some saves/boss fights. But once we feel that we are really ready, I'm sure we'll go though it without even touching the difficulty slider. (and restarting if needed be, after a grieving period! That's what a Heroes Cemetery in TW2 official website could heklpt with!)
BTW, DA:O and ME (1 or 2, can't remember) give achievements for going through Nightmare and Insanity without dyintg or without ever reducing difficulty. But both let us reload saves when the Warden or Sheppard dies so it's not really quite Hardcore!

Anyone else had some slight trouble with the endgame sequence? I kept having some trouble with the controls not responding. grrrrrr, and on my second playthrough too. yes, despite my dislike of CDProjekt, I actually have played a copy of the game. I wish it were possible to play a non-geralt Witcher character. bah, that's just a dream of dreams.
That was easy for me - I didn't even bother fighting Letho.
As for customizable characters, Geralt is cool enough. He might be ugly, but he's cool in my book.

I got the CPU and the motherboard in a bundle for $350, before a mail rebate. So an I5 and a motherboard would not have been much cheaper. The Ram was alomst buy 1 get one free, I didn't spend $150 total. I built my PC over the course of a couple months, and just waited until I saw good deals. I may get another 560 later because my GPU runs at 99 all the time so its bottlenecked.

Well depending on his MOBO and the size of his case does he even have room for another card?
I have 2 and they are just barely in there.

I have a huge case a motherboard, I could easily get 2, it has slots for up to three, but I don't think a 3rd one would fit. But I could definitely get 2 of almost any card in there.

I'm actually suprised my cards don't short each other out with how close they are. I would have put the second in a lower slot but low and behold that MSI was misleading about the Tri-SLI and that third slot is actually only for Physx Cards.

I need to check mine then. Mine says 3 Way SLI or 3 Way crossfire, but I haven't even looked into it. I wonder if its the same thing.

Do not think it is DA2 and you can just get into the middle of a group and kick their asses. You cannot. Play smart. Lure a few, traps, bomb the group, attack and retreat, attack again... don't try play this as any other "I'm an invincible Hero" or you will end up like this guy:
PS.: backstabs do 200% damage on Geralt...

Always, enable Quen, and when Quen isn't enabled, always parry with 'E', it causes your opponent(s) to knock back and be open for attack; use Aard to disperse the crowd if things get too crowded. Before you head into the fight, however, drink Swallow for combat rejuvination, and Rook is good for increased sword damage.
Also think about oils you can coat your sword with. The Falka's blood potion gives you increased maximum sword damage, as well as Hanged Man's venom (only with humans).
If that doesn't work, certain crowds stop attacking when you move out of a certain area. You'll start healing when out of combat, so just wait a bit for your bar to refill, save (you can when out of combat), and try again.

Take your time playing rushing headlong into combat isn't very smart. Unless if your familiar already.
Though honestly 15? I kind of find it unlikely to believe >.>
Use Quen ALWAYS. It's the most useful spell if you have any grenades like Samun or Zerrikanian Sun they help a lot since it stuns for a brief moment. Red Haze grenade can slow enemies down for a few seconds and sometimes cause an enemey to fight for you.
Try making oils too. Falka's blood is pretty cheap or if you have the DLC downloaded use the whetstones for a 20% damage increase for 20 minutes.
