Yeah but if they are talking about the Nekker cave that Grapeshot is the way to go at low levels. He could be there all day with sword fighting. Talk to Cedric and either buy the Grapeshot recipe or buy them off him (best to get the recipe). I made about 15 and kicked me some Nekker ass. The Strat worked so well that it actually gave me confidence to go complete the Nekker contract. This was on my first playthrough when the forest was still kinda scary.

Different opponents attack at different speeds.  Shielded opponents move the slowest, then opponents in full armor, then the ones in chainmail.  Focus on the chainmail opponents (usually they have the most color on their uniforms) first, then work on singling out the armored foes.  Keep parrying and/or keep Quen enabled, and you should have an opportunity to strike back and give yourself space.

Do not think it is DA2 and you can just get into the middle of a group and kick their asses. You cannot. Play smart. Lure a few, traps, bomb the group, attack and retreat, attack again... don't try play this as any other "I'm an invincible Hero" or you will end up like this guy:

Take your time playing rushing headlong into combat isn't very smart. Unless if your familiar already.

Yes I am helping this elf I am at the start and you find blood at the beginning of the cave and then when I went inside the cave 15 guys came out of no where and gang raped me it was so dirty I seriously didn't know what to do

You won't be able to change this unless you achieve higher skills within Swordmaster.

Set up traps and use nekker lure. They get stunned and thats when you bomb the living **** out of them.

You meditate using the left CTRL and just meditate to day time. You have to craft bombs using Alchemy though you have to get the diagrams and materials needed first. Though I find looking for Aether a bit of a challenge in Act 1 but I think

This site has i think almost every item you can find in game if you look at the boms and click on one it shows the materials needed to craft them. Some items have old names though like Stinker which should be stenchbulb which makes enemies weaker very useful on large pack of mobs.

Meditate.  The bottom selection in the meditation menu makes time pass.  Even lets you choose the hour of the day.

Shoot.  I can't help you with that quest because I was so focused on the Kayran and the story plot that I failed it.

Yeah on that quest for Malena you have to take a few steps in and let a few come after you and then back up. The others will only go so far before they turn around.

I did this and used Grapeshots. But my first time in I got overwhelmed before I knew what happened lol.

Though NPCs follow a schedule they never actually "close shop", just talk to one when they're sleeping and they'll let you buy stuff from them instead of kicking you out of their house. Anyone know why after around 30 mins of game play my game just freezes and wont move until I ctrl alt delete and bring up task manager it wont let me bring up task manager straight away though like I have to leave the game frozen for a couple of minutes then I can open the task manager then the game minimizes and then when I open it again it unfreezes? It is quite annoying any help will be appreciated thank you

Hasn't happened to me. Make sure all other applications are closed. Hit the GoG forums for tech advice, its all we have right now.

There is a PC store called Microcenter where I live and they have a deal of the day online everyday.  So when I was building my PC I checked it before I went to work or at lunch at work.  They had the I7 960 and a Gigabyte X58A-UD3R bundled for 350 after instant saving plus another $25 mail in.  Then they had the Corsair Vengence ram on sale another day buy 8 gigs (2x4) and get another 4 GB stick free.

Yeah my GPU is bottlenecked, it runs at 99% usage constantly when I'm playing a game.

Edit: Like today they have an I5 2500K and a motherboard for $240.

You may be taxing your video card to much, it might be overheating. I had a freeze a couple times when I set uber option to on.

Yeah I thought so would that ruin my graphics card? Or should it still be fine? I have turned the settings down a bit and the game is running perfectly I am affraid though that I may have injured or damaged my graphics card due to this freezing will I need to buy a new one or should it still be fine my graphics card is a 6850 radeon and I just purchased it like 2 months ago.

It should be fine unless you get artifacts on your screen all the time now. Usually when they fry you can easily tell.

I'm leaning towards the adviser (the elves should be able to look after themselves) cause gotta get to voltar (sp>) to rescue Triss and clear my name/kill the kingslayer.
