Mouse keyboard.
I do have an Xbox 360, but honestly, I think I'd prefer mouse and keyboard. I may try it out though.

Mouse and keyboard. Mouse is much better than a gamepad for accuracy and movement. Unless you're cheap and have a crappy mouse.

Argh those paid reviewers get my goat! Must ... keep ... cool

"Paid reviewers"

I think that's the second most used term right next to "Rushed" on these forums

Someone didn't like the game i like? PAID REVIEWER

Someone liked the game i didn't like? PAID REVIEWER

Not accusing of any sites of being paid. But I find it funny that the Escapist had full site advertisement and informational videos of Dragon Age II at the time of its release. Also, calling DAII not only best looking game for this generation but also, the "pinnacle of role playing games", which the reviewer has every right to call since it's his opinion, but I find it odd, he didn't mentioned the recycled environments, I mean you have to be blind not to notice it. I guess he's too busy making the point that DAII is the Empire Strikes Back of video game sequels. Also, he mentioned that you can enable auto-attack in option menu and he reviewed the Xbox version of the game, which at the time of review wasn't available. He did say that "a source that I trust made sure that I say the option was there and I included it without verifying for myself". http://www.escapistm...-Review?page=12 The fug? It is too much trouble to look for it yourself instead of relying on on this "source".

Anyway, his reviews of DA2 and TW2 doesn't bother me one bit, I read multiple reviews to make my choice (though, because I liked the original Witcher, I was going to buy TW2 anyway) and if I listen to just the Escapist's review of TW2, I'm probably  be waiti for the price of the game to drop before buying, as he mentioned it in his review.

In reply to bold, so did the Witcher 2 or did you not see the various ads for the Witcher 2 on the Escapist.  -_-

I would like to say that CDPR bribed IGN and Gamespot to give scores ranging above 9.0. Oh wait... look at ME2's 9.5... BIOWARE BOUGHT THEM OUT!  <_<

And reviews are subjective, some people simply can't get into the hardcore RPG experience and will prefer a lighter, more casual RPG.

Hi guys what kind of browser you guys using for iphone4? Seems the browser included with the phone not compatible and I can't post new topic.

On-topic.. We shd thank CDPR otherwise you want Mike Laidlaw to post a thank you, better off be dreaming. Seems like they have some competition now and won't sit comfortably spamming crap games to me.

Not saying all developers who put up ads on gaming websites are buying out reviews, although it does happen like Gerstmanngate with Gamespot. My post wasn't trying to start a BIoware vs CDPR thing, I'm more focusing on the reviewer. How do you explain the same reviewer criticising one game's design choices. which he has every right to but he hardly mentioned it for the other game? Not saying the review was paid, maybe it's more that he's incompetent reviewer or a big Bioware fan (being a fan doesn't mean he gets paid). Of course, the easy answer is reviews are subjective so that's the end of that.

Edit: forgot to mentioned how the Dragon Age 2 review from the Escapist was out way before the release date due to exclusive agreements, while IGN and Gamespot didn't get to review the TW2 before its release date. Not saying money was exchanged by anyone, just saying one got exclusive rights.

So much atmoshpere. Even when some of the NPC's repeat dialogue it somehow feels natural. If Bioware made DA half as rich with life as this game is, then they would have me hyped for DA3. As it goes, Witcher is my Fantasy RPG of choice now, and if DA3 and Witcher 3 came out in the same month, TW3 would be getting my money.

I don't know, Mass Effect is extra awesome like that, too. More immersion, more focus. Reaper characterization enhanced bigtime.

Anyways...how many dungeons are there and how is the diversity/size of them?

Saw some new screens of DA3 by Mike Laidlaw and I wanted to say I'm not impressed and it's nowhere near Skyrim & TW2 visuals. I wont pre-order the game and wait everyone being hyped and cheat to buy the game again

What exactly are those guys saying about "LIllies"?

I have all the subtitles turned off in my game, but I keep hearing something like Throw the Lillies!

Thought this was humorous as I was taking a SS showing me wearing all the free DLC items. The kid is wearing a pot on his head like a helmet >.<

The combat would leave a better impression if blocking wasn't tied to vigor.

I disagree. I like the fact that you can't block indefinitely.

Or maybe there should've been a different dodge animation, more like in the first game, rather than rolling around.

In TW1, Geralt could vault over enemies' heads, very similar to Batman in Arkham Asylum.

Agreed, though Geralt's dodging in TW1 was over short distances. But yea, different animations would have been nice. And yea, I do miss the vaulting.

The only thing that somewhat bothers me with combat is that if a group of enemies corners you against a wall, you can't really escape and you're almost always effed (at least on hard). Vaulting would fix that.

Indeed.. WTF happened to the Pirouette and double Pirouette? It was fun since the prologue of TW1 and Berengar also mentioned that, while Geralt was still able to do it, he leaves his groins open to attack because of his almost shattered leg, IIFC.

Plough the Lilies! Perhaps a reference "The Lily has yet to be engulfed by Fire", the password from TW1?

What's the counter? =)

(The lilies are also the flower in the Temerian shield, aren't they?)

Those kids in Lobinden are remarkable. Like most details in the game, they shine and makes the game very special.

And the story... I don't remember ever playing anything this good! (I liked TW1 almost as much)

ROFL!!!!!

In Act 1, and there is so much to do, so much to explore, so much to loot! So many people to talk to. Wow! I know I have missed things, and I am trying to be as thorough as possible.  And ****ing Nekkers! They ruined my not dying streak! I got my ass handed to me by the little buggers in a cave I happily just fell into before I got the quest to take me there. Exploration can get you killed! LMAO!

This game rocks on so many levels, and not even dying and reloadin is a chore. DA2? It was a chore, filled with chores and almost zero exploration. The difference between riding a bike with training wheels and straddling a Harley between your legs.

BTW

*Act 2 spoiler below!!1!!*

Did anyone else find the banter between the wraiths funny when you enter the mist to end it? I did.

"Y'know I don't know why we are fighting anymore, my cousin lives in Kaedwen"
"Market's good over there, better than merchant prices here"

Combat mod tweak. For balance. Check it out, quite interesting.

EDIT:
Oh, for those who didnt like triss nudity, here's a mod too.

http://www.witcherne.../file.php?id=43

Thats a new one, a patch from the nexus to REMOVE nudity rather than add it?
:P

Well, there also one that makes Triss in the Towel for the whole game, isn't there? hehe

I'm really in doubt if I should try the balance mod. I don't like the idea of moding abilities, well, not until I have beaten the game in Insane diff without ever changing the slider. And those changes are more for the mage build which I rarely use. I'm a swordsman! Two Handers are the most fun class in any game.. Archers too but no archers here so...

PS.: Any chance of me screwing up some quest because I don't follow insctructions very well? I mean, I refuse to simply go as instructed and not deviate and "explore" (get lost =) the whole area before start thinking in quests!!

Finally some decent looking leather pants! I had a black one in my first run from early act 1.. didn't find it anywhere thism run. This one is half black, half brown! For "balance" 's sake, I just refused to use any bonus or imported items this run. Mage's Pants are too OP'ed and looks funny! Is there anything in black leather? More like Me, my Black Pants and my Big Sword some time ago... =)
