This comparison... is.... brilliant!

It might just be the wine, but really, the comparison struck me as appropriate... erm accurate? Or both! ;)

Hmm, I wonder if I should make it part of my sig line, "DA2 and TW2, the difference between riding a bike with training wheels and straddling a Harley between your legs."

Okay seriously! I am going to bed. I had to add a 't' to training wheels, yeah. ROFL!

I don't know, Mass Effect is extra awesome like that, too. More immersion, more focus. Reaper characterization enhanced bigtime.

Anyways...how many dungeons are there and how is the diversity/size of them?

There's no dungeons, maybe a couple small caves in the first chapter. As far as diversity, not once did I get the feeling "I've been here before" in a new area. This game is made by hand rather then copy and pasted, even the bricks on the walls hardly even repeat patterns. The houses inside look very different as well. It's the most detailed and immersive game I have played. Agree on ME also, there are awesome parts in it, like the club in ME2 but the forest in TW2 pretty much trumps anything I've seen.

The reviewer didn't have enough sense to adjust the difficulty down? Horrible excuse to lower a score. There is no shame in going easy considering the storyline is best reason to finish the game. :D

Unfortunately people would rather b**** then lower the difficulty.

It would wound their prides. XD

Too true. I've been called so many names online because I don't care to play on the harder difficulties.

I play a game to play a game, not to quit in frustration.

Same here. I usualy switch the difficulty down if the controls aren't upto speed. Like with Prototype. I hated the dodge mechanics and lack of block in that game, so I just played it on casual.

I just can't stand it when controls feel half-assed. :)

What exactly are those guys saying about "LIllies"?

I have all the subtitles turned off in my game, but I keep hearing something like Throw the Lillies!

"Plough the lilies!" and "Elf to the moon!".

Don't know what it means, but sounds amusing. :D

I hope console sales going to crash so deep, they wouldn't make console-friendly games anymore.(talking about TW2 ofc)

Are you kidding?

I hope console sales rocket to the moon, so that CDPR and companies realise that the market is still there for Action RPGs and cRPGs that aren't simplified or hold the player's hand.

We want more games with the depth of TW 2 for the future, not less.

Whoever thinks that Quen is overpowered has never defeated the Operator and his minions in Hard difficulty! OUCH! Toughest boss in the game indeed! I can't imagine doing it in Insane! Too much to loose... too little to gain... perhaps for the respec only ... thoughts anyone?

I hope they wouldn't. I'm kind of waiting for this game to come to consoles. I just can't stand playing a game this close to the screen. I'd rather do it from my sofa, lying on my back and chilling. Not to mention, would have to buy the video card for it to possibly work. Not even sure if it would work then, or would I need to manualy tinker with the files or something.

No, I think I'll wait for polished product that works for 100% certainty and play it from my sofa.

So you don't have it atm?

You don't have to manually tinker anything with files in Wicher 2.

Product is polished. Patch 1.1 fixed problems with DLC's and improved permormance (for someppl quite drastically). DRM was removed completly like CDPR promised before TW2 release.

Atm Witcher is just install , choose graphic options and press play imho.

Remember that graphics will have to be turned down for consoles versions , espeially for XBox as it wont have anywhere nearly power to handle PC's Withcer graphic on high settings.

Plough the Lilies! Perhaps a reference "The Lily has yet to be engulfed by Fire", the password from TW1?

Temeria's coat of arms, white lilies on a black background. They are basicly saying "**** Temeria!".;)

Sadly not, but was just saying what usual problems I have with PC games. I just pefere playing games on consoles, feels just much better. :)

I never minded the graphical toning down. Especialy if it's optimized, the games they got on consoles nowdays look really good for me.

I just don't have a graphics card that could run the Witcher 2, plus it would propably mean I'd have to tone down the graphics, so it wouldn't actualy look as good as console versio would or even run as smoothly. So It will be cheaper to just wait for the console release.

I grew tired of the reloadinjg and the dialogue skipping after a few tries, does he drop anything good at all to worth the trouble?

Well, apparently we can craft this right away, early in Act 3, with his loot, instead of getting it later near end game.

ZERRIKANTERMENT
DAMAGE [44-45]-[49-50]
RARE
Silver Sword
Bleeding +35%
WEIGHT 5
Damage bonus on Signs +10
Chance of instant kill +1%
Adrenaline generation on hitting foe +1
Damage dealt to gargoyles +4%
Damage dealt to wraiths +4%
Damage dealt to large monsters +4%
Damage dealt to necrophages +4%
Damage dealt to insectoids +4%
Sockets: 2
Available in: Initial Release

I have yet to beat him.  Impossible at level 30 with Dreug's armor. Reloaded right before going in and found Ysgith Armor... seems a better chance now... but the real problem is the "casting signs bug".. I can deal with it but it is annoying. I try to cast quen or whatever and Geralt just stands there motionless. I keep pressing the cast sign and it only works after some 5-10 secs... grrrr .. almost a certain death when it happens in that place!

Actually I wouldn't count on that.  Not saying that it will suck, but they will probably have to tone the graphics down to minimum anyway.  Remember: minimum on PC is usually what you get on console, and the min reqs for W2 is higher, so expect them to have to strip it down somewhat.  Not to say don't get it on console if that's your preference, just don't expect it to look as good.

Just curious, how many people are playing w/ mouse and keyboard or gamepad [ie xbox controller]?

I'm playing TW2 with a gamepad. More enjoyable for me. Works fine.

It shouldn't look worse than any console release. My GPU is old and not top of line and handles TW2 very nice, albeit not in higher settings. GF 9600GT .. How much for it? 30 bucks these days? (despite the auto detect putting me there always.. I can at least start and see how gorgeous everything is, as long as I don't try to move...lol)

I've found the dragon scales right away when I've entered the city at Philippa's house (Roche's Path).

Hello, I have some questions about the best gear Geralt can have. Somewhere I read that this would be Elder Blood Boots, Elder Blood Trousers, Elder Blood Gauntlets, Vran Armor, Addan Deith, Operator's Staff. Howerver I have no idea AT ALL where to get any of those things. If someone could say this I would appreciate that. Also, I'm on Iorveth's path, so I won't be able to get the Operator's Staff. What is a good alternative? Thx
