Letho has a funny accent. The way he says Pontar Valley has a strange sound to it. I usually go through his entire dialogue tree at the end of the game just to hear how he pronounces stuff.
My favorite VA would probably have to be Roche.

Question: why do both Geralt and Triss have American accents?
Geralt's supposed to have a Rivian accent, and Rivia is to the south. I think. No idea bout Triss. Never read the books.

How well does TW2 run for people compared to, say, DA2. I cannot for the life of me get a decent framerate on TW2 if I go above 'low' for the Red engine, but DA2 I can run at high with the texture pack as long as I keep AA and anti-aliasign at 2x. What's going on?

You really need a new Graphics Card...that 8800 should be allowed to retire

Well you have a game that was made for 5-6 year old consoles and game made for a modern PC, so thats whats happening. Yea you need a better card, they are not that expensive(though thats relative for everyone). You can get a HD 4850 that should run it on high for 97-130 bucks. Your cpu is a tad slow also if thats a duo core, but the card would be a priority.

So, yeah, my frame rates are horrible...but the game is still pretty, even w/ almost every setting on low (I kept DoF stuff enabled, just so the background stuff is ok to look at lol).
I was planning on getting a GTX 560 Ti, but I was planning to get it along w/ a new rig (when I've saved up enough cash. I have over 1k USD, but my estimates for the rig I want is closer to 2k USD lol).
I wonder if I should get the GTX 560 Ti now...
hehehe

NO for HD4850.. I have it and the game was crawling lol.. With low settings is plays abit smooth but it hurt my eyes lol.. Get GTX560Ti for the win
I'm surprised as its a recommended spec card for this game, not minimal and a good workhorse. For the heck of it I tried to run it on my old system with a 4670 and it ran on low-mid with bearable frame rates, so maybe your system is a bit jacked? Or is that a 512 meg version?
Heres a vid with a 4850 at ultra high settings

I suspect that TW2 graphics look a lot better than they actually are (e.g. hand animations and water aren't terribly good but quite well hidden). Interestingly though TW2 runs perfectly fine with my GTS240 on high (sluggish, but playable, on ultra) whilst DA2 is only playable with minimal graphics settings. If I had to make a guess I'd say that TW2 uses resources more efficiently than DA2 (e.g. 4/8 logical cores busy).

So it's more CPU, than GPU, intensive?
My PC runs DA2 on 'high' (mostly, I even have the high res textures), and while I do get frame rate drops/stuttering, it's not as bad as what I get for TW2 (which is all on low/disabled, except for dangling objects limit and the DoF options. I do have texture memory on Large...which I should do, since my GPU has 2GB of memory, right?).
My specs:
CPU: P4 3GHz
RAM: 2GB DDR2
GPU: Inno3D 430 GT 2GB
OS: WinXP SP2

In my experience a high-end processor can't make up for missing graphics card features (my experience here is limited to running compiz without GPU 3D acceleration).

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
@gotthammer: This are my specs (mediocre now in this era) and yours seem to be superior to mine on everything except CPU. TW2 runs at an average of like 30 FPS or below (tolerable) with bloom enabled. Also we have the same amount of RAM but i use Windows 7 which is more resource extensive. In my understanding, the game becomes more intensive on the CPU on large areas (more NPC's, more environments to load, etc.) and intensive on the GPU on particle effects, lighting and textures and maybe physics ( i'm not sure whether it's CPU/GPU reliant though).

Maybe something else is wrong...hehehe
(if it's not the CPU/GPU, could it be install location? I dumped TW2 into my relatively new 1TB HDD. Most of my other games are elsewhere...)

A faster HDD/SSD mostly influences loading/buffer times. You will see less 'fade to black' or texture pop when you enter a building, for example.

I posted that earlier.. I wondered is it a joke? Now why would Poland's PM handed Obama The Witcher 2 CE as a gift?
The Witcher saga, both books and games are real highlights for Poland, keep in mind the country is still young. It's not surprising, though I wonder what kind of media the US is going ot do if Obama endorses the game. Another Fox news fiasco just like Mass Effect?
So, yeah, young
Sorry, for a little necro-posting
P.S. or did you have in mind the U.S.?
