About Ves, I think there´s also the posibility Geralt´s lying about Ves lying. In game you can play him as quite a bastard.

My understanding was that Geralt thought she lied because she didn't actually tell them she got raped. She said they laught and let her go.

What the person above me said. Ves doesn't say she was raped. You get a scene from an omniscient point of view and see her get raped. She says that he hanged everyone except her, laughed, and let her live.
Also, it was pretty heartwrenching seeing her crying and running into Geralt's arms. You feel so bad for her. She stays being put in these positions, evidenced by the journal, and also the stealth mission where you prevent her from being molested by Loredo. This time, it wasn't an assignment, and there was no one to save her.

Does Roche get killed with the rest of his crew if you aren't on the Henselt side in Act 2?

Does updated quen actually profit from +sign dmg or intensity?
Yes, yes it does. You'll see the shield become brighter. But damn those Quen feel overpowered.

It really should have been nerfed. I'd say instead of giving it a timer, have it slowly use vigor, you can still use spells and stuff, but when you Vigor runs out it dissipates. So if you abuse Quen it could leave you in a very vulnerable position.

Have you played on Insane to state that?

Tell me what that does for you, it should increase the graphics either subtly or nicely with a minor to no fps hit.
edit: This forum really needs to drop this ****ty layout and WYSIWYG editor. It all sucks.
Those settings actually makes the graphics worse, and a FPS average of 65-70 FPS.

I second this. "She lied" means "She was raped but didn't want to tell us"

Yeah. Definitely should try Insane before saying that. And Quen wears off pretty fast when they hit you hard enough! Argh... But the thrill and adrenaline of an Insane run is highly addictive. I can't bring myself to go back to Hard difficulty, even if it cost me the ultimate price. I want MOAR!

If there is advice to be is to NEVER let your guard down on Insane.
Never, anything and everything can and will kill you.

Just finished The Witcher 1. Oh so epic, my god it was amazing, I need the second game now, I hope they release a demo so I can see if my computer can run it without exploding, otherwise I;kk have to wait a few years until Laptop technology has caught up (I can't afford a Desktop).
Dunno if we're supposed to talk about The Witcher 1 here, but does anyone think we'll find out what happened to Alvin? I know people think he is the Grandmaster, and many signs point to it, but I dunno, my Geralt and Alvin were on good times, I can't see him turning against me, I was pretty much his father. If Alvin was the Granmaster, why was Salamandra after him?
It's hard for him not be Alvin considering he responds to you in the "end of the world" with the very lessons you tought him. As far as Salamandra, who knows, maybe he was protecting himself as a child as they did work for him. I don't recall them trying to kill Alvin, but it's been a while since I played the first.

In Chapter 3 when you chose between Shani and Triss I'm pretty sure Salamandra Assassins were after him.
Someone made the point of Alvin and The Grandmaster having different coloured eyes or something...
But yeah, I told him to become a Witcher, and in the "end of the world" I'm pretty sure he didn't tell me Witcherish things, I dunno I'll have to check it out again.

And now I really want to start my 2nd playthrough and see what's all the fuss with Iorveth.
I'm starting up a second playthru with a Scoia'tel path / Triss romance import and going to help Iorveth this time. Can't wait to see the differences. I really didn't notice any references to my neutral path / Shani import while on the Roche path. Here's hoping for more.

From my two playthroughs I have really only seen a few references to my playthrough.
**SPOILERS**
Iorveth and Geralt get to talk about Yaevinn together if you sided with the Scoia'tael is my biggest result.
The Flaming Rose appear in the final chapter. If you chose neutral or Scoia'tael they react badly to you in the same way, however it appears that Order playthroughs make quite a change here as you actually get to see Siegfried and he pulls strings for you. How Iorveth responds to you being a pro-Order guy though is a bit shakey.
Has anyone noticed any difference to Iorveth's reaction to you if you save him during the Vergen battle while on Roche's path depending on whether you gave his sword or helped him get caught at the end of chapter 1? He seemed pretty PO'd at me on my playthrough when I helped him get caught, is he happier to see you if you gave him his sword? And does anyone know what happens to Anais on Iorveth's path? Since Dethmold is killed in that path before you even get there does she survive anyway? I don't think Natalis even says a word in that path.
**END SPOILERS**

That one's really for graphics cards with 1.5-2GB of ram however. This one does a lot with increasing the amount of shadows you normally get, and allow for higher poly models and vegetation at higher distances. It's subtle, but it looks a lot better in motion. It also increases the memory budget so there will be more higher textures more often loaded up, but your computer has to be able to handle it.

I still dont know why gaming companies still pay money for SECUROM. Its the biggest useless **** every released and it doesnt help at all. Games will be cracked anyway and it made the gameplay experience as honest buyer worse while all those warez kiddies play an awesome game without SECUROM. The decision to remove SECUROM was made far to late.

He wont tell you witcherish things, however he repeats what you have tought Alvin while he asked you questions, if you have those saves look up what he asks and what you tell him, it should be used by him to rationalize he's ideas. It was in my game and many others have said that.

There's such a turn of events in the novels that is coupled so deeply with events in the game that it will make me want Witcher 3 like a drolling dog waits for his bone.
For this who don't mind spoilers ( and it's a VERY big spoiler ) let me just link two wiki pages:
Ciri - That's Geralt's adoptive daughter.
Duny - That's Ciri's natural father ( and I suggest you read every tiny detail :innocent: )

However, I got some easy money, so I decided to give this game a shot...
Hmm, five days later, without a single visit to BSN or any other forum, I have to say...
All this hype around this game, Witcher 2, Doesn't. Even. ******. DESCRIBE! , how enjoyable this game is (yup, I had to resort to awsome reach reference). I almost feel bad for praising it on other studio's official website.
Yes, there are some things that bothered me, such as lack of hardware optimization (for a hardware it needs, it does not look that good), weaker character animations, lack of tutorials and introduction (I understand that I should have played the 1st game first though), weaker map, etc. but in general, it was one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.
So I approve this thread.
Va fail.

Out of curiosity does anyone have a favorite kingdom in the game? From the books and the games i've always liked Redania the most. Witcher 2 really made me like Aedirn more as well as Witcher 1 making me love Temeria.
