That one's really for graphics cards with 1.5-2GB of ram however. This one does a lot with increasing the amount of shadows you normally get, and allow for higher poly models and vegetation at higher distances. It's subtle, but it looks a lot better in motion. It also increases the memory budget so there will be more higher textures more often loaded up, but your computer has to be able to handle it.
At a couple points dropped to 29FPS, but it was jumping from 32-48 FPS.

CPU: Amd Phenom II 965 X4 Black Edition @ 3.4ghz (since the air conditioner was turned on, gunna go back to 3.8ghz)
Mem: 6gb @ DDR3 1600

Ultra with uber off seems to do ok for me, but I'll check it out.
1650x1080. The max my 20" monitor will do. I could play it on my 42" plasma TV, but I'd get a neck cramp.

Insane run report: So far so good and getting better and better.. meaning... danger ahead! I hate when games do that... hehe... exactly like D2 Hardcore...everything seems to be easy and then BAM, a nasty trap by a gang of monsters and we were really lucky to get out of it or of the game alive.
Poor Endrega Queens... they were so easy... bandits cave in a trap, easy...nekker, easy... and I am so tempted to go back to that swamp at night to farm.. erm... hunt some drowners. Best be careful and prepared! Best thing I did was to eliminate the extra damage taken from backstab right away! Very few " OMG, that was close" moments after that! =)
Now, two questions:
- There was a ghost right at the start of the swamp in my last playthrough (the one far SW where the hut that we open with Dimitri's key from Troll Trouble is located). She fought me for a while and vanished when she was half life. I tried to find her again and again before ending act 1 and nothing. Anyone knows what is it? Quest? Why she vanishes?
- How do we use the Kayran Trap? This time I want to go with everything I can. Never used it before. We have just one, right? Where and when do we place it? After the cutscene at the boss fight or before even talking to Síle?

The Kayran trap basically cuts off one of those glowy arms (just place it in the way where one of the arms w/ the glowy bits would hit).
In a way, it just takes away having to 'Yrden' and cut one of the 2 (or 4) arms. That's it.

When you have this trap, you got glowing mark on the ground (on the left). If i remember correctly. you dont even need to equip this trap. You just "use it" on that glowing mark.
Then just stand there and run if you see that Kayran try to hit you with his tentacle.
If you dont have a trap then you just need to use Yrden and to catch his tentacle and then cut it out with sword.

Same thing here. Her name is Lonan. That much I know after a few reloads to see if I could finish her off but she just vanishes when about to die. There no reference to her anywhere to be found, not even in the game guide! (and the biatch hits hard. Scared the **** out of me (going Insane.. cannot die or GG) I think she only appears at midnight. Will try find her the next night, hoping she doesn't regen health, after I face the Kayran, well, if I survive it!

But it sucks that I managed to keep him alive for some 10 minutes, without getting injured at all, and nothing worked on the tentacles. Not the Kayran Trap, not the Yrden enhanced with Petri's Philter, nothing! Is there something wrong with this fight in Insane difficulty?
Aw well, will continue this run on Hard... I'm pretty sure I would die in Act 2 Yorveth's Path because that would be totally new ground for me and I wouldn't know what are the death traps there.
