Combined with the remarkable environment design and to a lesser degree the decent writing and voice acting, the atmosphere of The Witcher 2 is one of unrivaled authenticity. The fast-paced swords and sorcery combat system, though not without quirks, provides plenty of entertainment, and the crafting and alchemy systems mean there's incentive to explore and collect. The Witcher 2 is alternately offensive and endearing, grimy and gorgeous, and never ceases to surprise. It's one of the great titles of 2011, and one of the best role-playing games in years.

That's because Bioware ****ed up DA2 royally. Sometimes things that aren't broken should not be fixed.
Lol. Agreed.

After CD Projekt gets the 360 version out the door I hope we'll be hearing news about The Witcher 3. Skip any thoughts of an expansion pack and pick up where 2 left us hanging. Seriously, CD Projekt shouldn't leave us hanging too long.
Actually they should take their time and make Witcher 3 the best game ever made.
In the meantime they're going to release another game from a new IP and expansions for The Witcher 2. CDPR is announcing a new game in an original IP at E3, so we won't be seeing The Witcher 3 for a while. Kind of like Oblivion -> Skyrim.

I dare to disagree as well. Witcher 2 was that amazing because it was carefuly crafted game. Every single tree, every stone and every dwarven house looked so authentic and authentically placed because developers actually took their time to both craft the game and figure out how would it look / work the best.
Give them less time and you will have much more generic game.

I seriously doubt CD Projekt intends to wait another 4 years. 3 years at most since they don't need to build another engine from the ground up for a VERY long time.
New IP is going to be announced from CD Projekt RED at E3, most likely we are goign to be getting full fledged expansions (not the crap DLC) for Witcher 2. 3-4 years isn't a stretch, for the new IP is prolly gonna last a 2-year life span before the announcment of a possible Witcher 3.

Well if you look in that link I posted earlier the reason Rise of the White Wolf never came out other then the quality was because they didn't have the staff to work on that, RED Engine and Witcher 2. Now they are working on bring Witcher 2 to the xbox 360 and a new IP. Doubt Witcher 3 will be announced for a long time.
I'd prefer they make several expansions though! The end of Act III begs for an expansion. Then there's the Wild Hunt and Yennefer. I would also like to return to Temera/Vizima and see how it's changed based on our Witcher 1 saves.

Also, the more times I replay the game, the more irritated I am with the prologue. Triss is naked but Geralt isn't? I understand why (you don't get to see Triss' vag, after all), and I'm not hankering for the sight of an imaginary penis, but the scene grates more and more each time I've watched it.
Little disparities in how they treat this or that issue have me SMH.
Bioware's better at that, at least. I much prefer the way they treat their audience in that regard.

They really need to DLC Act 3, in a major way.

Complete nudity is bad, mass murder is fine according to ESRB.

I have to disagree with you on this one. Cd red has bonafide mature content while Bioware is still busy catering to teenagers. Saying that will offend some people I know, but I'm just calling it as I see it. They do show Geralt with his trousers off actually, if you sleep with a hooker. That's more than Bioware has ever done regarding male nudity, I think.
In regard to future projects for CD red, I'm hoping for an expansion to further flesh out the game.

My point is, if women aren't allowed to see Geralt walking around naked, why are men allowed to have a full view of Triss magic-ing her clothes away? Yes, sure, society's unfair, blah blah, ipsum dolor ad nauseum-- my point is, I appreciate the fact that Bioware tries to make sure that women and men get parity of content.
It seems to me that if an aspect of gameplay would overly favour one portion of their gamers over another, that Bioware pulls back so that that other group doesn't feel prejudiced. Whether they've gone too far with this (which is easy to argue) and whether they are biased in other ways (against more traditional RPGamers and for younger, more casual gamers, for instance) isn't the issue.
I'm sure plenty of women who've played TW2 enjoy the whole thing. I just think it's commendable that Bioware are all-inclusive. CDPR isn't. Let's give Bioware credit where credit is due.
(There's a place for both explicit and timid sex scenes, and how appropriate they are is going to depend on the context. I prefer the realism of TW2 to DA2's coyness, myself. But if the DA franchise wants to go another way, it's a perfectly valid option Edit: as long as it's done correctly. If you don't think you can pull off a particular sex scene properly, don't do it.)

Because Geralt's manhood is a touchy subject, given he's sterile due to the fact of the mutations he had to become a witcher.

That's a copout.
I'm not trying to detract "points" from what is a good game. I'm just saying CDPR is one kind of company, and Bioware is another kind of company. I like some of what CDPR does, and I like some of what Bioware does.
That Bioware does something (inclusiveness) better than CDPR does it, doesn't detract from the good that CDPR brings to the table. Anyway, I don't want CDPR to be Bioware. I like the graphical skin candy. It adds to the game in a way that substitutes can't.
Edit: Also, **** puritans.

Giving him / her more time to develop / design / write means that he / she can toy and elaborate on own creation more, but it also means that during such prolonged period that person will be exposed to more external ideas (another game, movie, book) which he / she may try to implement in own content.
So I wholeheartedly wish that CD Projekt doesn't release another Witcher game anytime soon, even if they feel that they have the manpower and technology to do so. Simply because they may not have enough good and original ideas yet.

There was a thread like this at CD red before the game released. Some people were pissed that we saw full female nudity, and not full male nudity. The difference as I see it is a purely physical one. You see a woman walking around naked, it's ****** and pubic hair. You see a man doing the same, and you see him in all his majesty. The genitalia is simply...out there. This simple fact has a bearing on nudity as depicted in movies as well as games. So equality, there is not. It's how nature made us.

My point is, Bioware will scale something like that back so that each person has parity of experience. CDPR doesn't. I like that Bioware values these things. I also understand why CDPR doesn't-- sometimes, some groups just get the better end of the stick, and you can't always ****foot in order to accommodate them.
May fire rain on the puritanical ESRB.

Because there is no female gamer, really. Only MEN play video games! Even if they say they're not male, this is the Internet! They are all male! So we don't need to see Geralt's privates but we love seeing Triss'es!
And yeah, Bioware really did some improvement since ME1... for all male children playing the game hidden from their parents! I wonder how much of my love for Origins is also due to the " better sex scenes" and "better bodies" mods.
And how would "Spartacus" or " Game of Thrones" be filmed if it were directed by Bioware's! +
