Well, minor spoilers are okay, just nothing game-ending. Which, in your view, is the more fun path? Which is the more righteous? Is Iorveth really that much of a wanker, or does he turn out not too bad?

Also, I like your sexy eye-patch man avatar.

@Slimgrin - Nooooooo, you're so mean!

You'll find out Iorveth isn't the blind racist he first seems. He does get much better in Act II you'll learn a lot of what he meant in Act 1 when he was saying about fighting for a certain person. That what happened with Nilfgaard won't happen again.

I've had to switch the game off at the end of Act 1 cos I can't decide between Roche and Iorveth. I hate when games do this to me (when I say 'hate', I mean 'love' of course).

Roche saved my skin by helping me out of prison and seems like a generally decent guy and of course there's Ves <3, but humans are pretty nasty in this game. Iorveth seems like a wanker and has tried to kill me twice now, and Malena had me ambushed, and the Squirrels can be vicious mofus - but I feel bad for the non-humans, and elves are just too cool for school, and Iorveth is kind of sexy with his eye-patch and all, and Zoltan's my buddy, and I'm playing my Scoia'tael import ...

I am so far on the fence at the moment that the spikes are starting to chafe a little. I will be playing the game a second time, but probably not for ages - I like to have a fairly long cooldown period after a first playthrough. Please, please help, in a way that doesn't involve loads of spoilers.

@Monica. No, you aren't alone. Geralt is magnificently sexy. If he had to spend the entire game semi-naked, I'd be okay with that.

I'm not entirely finished my Roche playthrough but the best non-spoiler description I could give would probably be something like the Iorveth path being more 'fantasy, feel good', whereas the Roche side is more 'realistic, dark and gritty'.

Said eyepatch man is Iorveth.

Personally I enjoyed Ioverth's path because I haven't done a full Roche playthrough yet. However from what I gathe, here's my personal breakdown of the two:

Ioverth: Strong values, Ruthless, Philosopher, Shepard (for his people)
Roche: Headstrong (Hothead), Cunning, Determined, Loyal

And of course, both have a fair amount of sarcastic humor, just like Geralt!

The butler did it.

Gah, you've spoiled the entire game for me. Though my mind is boggling trying to imagine Letho in a butler's outfit.

Yeah, I know it's Iorveth  - it's a particularly nice angle, despite the eye-patch not being on view! And thanks for the info to you and Ringo and m14567, much appreciated.

Allthatjazz. Just roll with it. That's how the game is meant to be played. Some consequences will make you wince. TW1 shocked me a couple times...poor Toruviel. :(

TW1 fans know what I mean. That game socked me in the gut more than once.

Yeah but make sure to replay the game from start (to get into a new Geralt, not just reload a key savegame with an already established mind for him) and try all different decisions. Roche's path is also very cool, ain't it?

I would have preferred in-game finishers, too. Cinematics are nice, but they break the interactive flow, and when they're done I have no way of knowing where I'm going to be on the battlefield or where my enemies are going to be on that battlefield.

I do like the finisher you get with halberd-wielding enemies.

Just remember to always, and I mean Always roll right after a finisher! Stupid sword throwing at some birds made him so vulnerable and at Insane... can't take that kind of a chance!

Damn, I liked Geralt's front flips, I didn't feel like they were out of place because he was a superhuman warrior, and they didn't happen enough that I thought they were highly overused.

The game can still make you feel like a superhuman/mutant warrior, with pots and the talent trees.

Go with the elves, I think you will find it more engaging. It's a bit more complex, plus depending on your choices there may be more of a resolution at the end.

Hmm.. 1.2 notes don't mention it but Mutagens are so very rare to find now, particularly Greater one. At this stage pre 1.2 I used to have at least 5 of each Greater type but now I found only one Greater Crits and some 2 of other Greater types. Not complaining, just noticing it. Actually it is cool that mutagens are not that cheap anymore!

You know the whole time I was playing I kept thinking 'man these elves in the witcher really don't take being second class citizens well'. The elves in dragon age just sort of take it, even the so called rebel elves that live in the woods don't even do much besides call humans shemlings.

Can someone please explain this to me. I installed the Patch update 1.1 for GOG now. I got tired of being stuck un patched on stream. I am on the Blood Curse, right when you fight the rifts and its like a never ending wave they respawn and she says same thing every 15 seconds. Any suggestions to whats causing this?

I don't think it has to do with who i helped and I didn't help Invorna. I played the game first on the box verizon but stopped because it wouldn't take my code. Instead of emailing them waiting 2 weeks plus, I bought the digital one off steam but their was a problem, it wouldn't auto patch.

I finally got it off GOG verizon and I'm stuck at part when King does the ritual, the three ghosts attack you and you kill one another takes his place. How long is this supposed go on, because it keeps going with me.
