WIth E3 coming to end, did anyone happen to catch what CD Projekt RED's new IP was? I failed find any news on it. =(
As far as I know the only thing they announced was a port of The Witcher 2 for XBox 360, haven't seen anything else.

Hell even the side character of Cedric in Act 1 of TW2 is more interesting that Fenris in DA2.
Come on, who doesn't love the ex-Scoia'tael, drunkard, vision-seeing, human-slaying, monster-slaying, hunter, philosophising elf?
I do, Cedric was cool. And a flirt towards Triss as well:D

Y'know, I agree with this, and I still like Fenris more. And I'm not a wimminz.
Then again:
Fenris is the most dramatic-but-still-marginally-likable-and-logical character in DA2.
Iorveth is a well-written character among many well-written characters.
I value the breathmint in the hobo's germ-infested mouth, more than I do the breathmint among all the other breathmints at the local bar, I guess.
I honestly thought he was the worst companion in DA 2. He's on the more logical side compared to say, Merill or Anders, but he was the ultimate fan service character. It was like they did focus group research and wanted to see how they could mesh in elements of JRPGs, Emos, Twilight and Elves and came up with Fenris as a character concept.
I like characters that are believable and interesting in a way that's consistent with logic. Not interesting because it's gimmicky or insane. I think that the Lodge Sorceresses (Philippa & Sile) were very good in this regard.
Out of the DA 2 companions, I only liked Varric and Aveline. But I only actually wanted to have Cassandra and Varric as companions. Aveline makes a good non-companion NPC. IMO.
I forgot all about Aveline and Cedric. This would be my list, then:
Cedric
Roche
Saskia
Aveline/Fenris
Isabella
Cedric is by far my favourite TW2 character: He's a drunk, devil-may-care Elf! Roche is a solid character with an understated character arc. Saskia's hot and has the best dialogue in the game; sure, her being a [Spoiler!] is a bit of a gimmick, but otherwise she's a good character.
Aveline is the most realistic of the DA2 characters; she doesn't have a lot of character-defining moments, though (and what few there are, are fumblingly done). Whereas Fenris has more meaty plot points but isn't as everyday as Aveline is. Aveline's normalcy is refreshing in DA2, but Fenris matches her, for me, because of the VA characterising him. Isabella. Well, she's duplicitous and cliched, but she's not as annoying as the rest of the characters.
I read your post before I logged off last night, and realised why I prefer the more muted personalities of Aveline and Fenris: Dialogue. I hated DA2's dialogue. The only VAs that really manage to pull off their dialogue (for me) are Aveline's and Fenris': and that's only by virtue of their having the least cringeworthy dialogue in the game. The rest of the VAs-- pity them-- had melodramatic, this-isn't-humorous-but-I'm-sure-as-hell-going-to-attempt-to-do-my-job-and-deliver-it-humorously, syrrupy dialogue. Varric was the worst of these characters, just by virtue of being the comedic sidekick; if he'd had good lines, I might like him more, but as things stand he's just continuously reminding me how subpar the whole game is. Cassandra's script was also terrible. All of the cutscene dialogue between the two characters is mishandled. [As I typed this out, I was actually becoming infuriated. Bad dialogue is never, ever, ever excusable. Did the dialogue writers even bother to read, out loud, what they'd written? That alone would have avoided 75% of the **** in the script.]
It's as if the DA2 dialogue writers were aiming for the 12-year-old segment. If you (and other people) liked the dialogue, I apologise for my characterisation of you, but you do have to admit that TW2 dialogue is to DA2 dialogue, as X-Files is to Fringe.
As for Fenris being a JRPG/Twilight mishmash-- too true, too true

So 12 year olds should be subjected to possession, serial killers, insanity, domestic violence, terrorism.......
I see more 12 year olds going "Squee!" over boobies in TW2. (And women don't get the same fan service. Typical)
And I have to do nothing of the kind.
YEESH, loving both of these games is bloody frustrating, given the whole "You must choose!" mentality. (Now that is childish. I much prefer having the cake & eating it.)

I really liked Cedric as well. I thought his *spoiler* in the forest at the end of the act was very well done.
So far, my list of favs includes:
White Rayla (TW1)
Triss
Toruvial (TW1)
Cedric
Roche...what a badass
Zoltan
Ves
Sile...yes I like her for her sexy Polish VO's, and her unique design.
*I havent done Iorveths path yet so I can't really include him till I get to him better.

Ever heard of the young teen mentality towards nudity? That's what this is about, and you know that.
And no, they don't. Sadly this game as well as DAII is played by much younger people all the time. (The game isn't hard to get, given how few actually pay attention to the ratings) There are children who are addicted to WoW. Cold facts. Sad, really.

I got that *Spoiler* while it was raining in game. (At dawn) Amazing moment....the scenery, the mood, the dialogue. One of my Top 5 Witcher moments.
