And no, they don't. Sadly this game as well as DAII is played by much younger people all the time. (The game isn't hard to get, given how few actually pay attention to the ratings) There are children who are addicted to WoW. Cold facts. Sad, really.

Amazing how people go long ways to tease you, Persie. And yes, anyone who's watched South Park - Make Love, Not Warcraft episode knows that. I have the Sword of a Thousand Truths!

I really liked Cedric as well. I thought his *spoiler* in the forest at the end of the act was very well done.

Same here.    I liked him and thought they did a decent job of his personality, motivations etc..

I got that *Spoiler* while it was raining in game. (At dawn) Amazing moment....the scenery, the mood, the dialogue. One of my Top 5 Witcher moments.

Completely agreed. I got all teary. Though in my game, Cedric *spoiler* just as dusk fell. Seemed very fitting. *sniff*

Edit: Arg, removed spoiler!

Oh, and RageGT - awesome episode of South Park. *goes and gets a hot pocket*

A TW2 related question: (Some spoilers!)

Out of all the sorceresses we are introduced to, who is your favorite?

I kinda want to know more about Sabrina. Her story being revealed more & more in Act II fascinates me to no end.

Sile left me kinda cold, esp. her last few lines.

Philippa....interesting schemer & plotter who meets her match....(That scene still gives me icy shivers)

Triss........much preferred her in TW1.

Hmm I should try to think about my favorite Witcher moments.

One of them is definitely Roche on the bridge.

It's as if the DA2 dialogue writers were aiming for the 12-year-old segment. If you (and other people) liked the dialogue, I apologise for my characterisation of you, but you do have to admit that TW2 dialogue is to DA2 dialogue, as X-Files is to Fringe.

I see more 12 year olds going "Squee!" over boobies in TW2. (And women don't get the same fan service. Typical)

You know a lot of 12 year olds? That's weird.

Because? Loads of my older friends have kids & people TALK.

And they're all 12? Or how many are 12?

Also, your friends are buying mature rated games for their kids with nudity and violence?

Ever heard of the young teen mentality towards nudity? That's what this is about, and you know that.

And no, they don't. Sadly this game as well as DAII is played by much younger people all the time. (The game isn't hard to get, given how few actually pay attention to the ratings) There are children who are addicted to WoW. Cold facts. Sad, really.

No I didn't know that's what this was about. I thought it was about the post where you were being sarcastic about hyperbole and then in the following post providing some hyperbole for yourself. My mistake.

Misunderstanding. I was being sarcastic in both posts. Good to see that solved though.

Triss and Sile, though I still didn't meet Sabrin and Philippa on Iorveth path where I assume they are going to be fleshed out a lot more.

IF we are to include sorcerers, Dethmold would be my favorite next to Triss.

Dethmold is one sick S.O.B. I was surprised the lengths they went to to show his depravity.

Favourite moments aside from Cedric: Me & Iorveth fighting back to back on the boat; waking up with a hangover; the very spoilery thing with Saskia; Roche to the rescue at the camp.

Favourite sorceresses: Philippa and Sile - such a calculating and manipulative pair, without being outright evil. Mind you, that describes so many characters in TW2 - I'm loving the shades of grey. Also intrigued by Yennefer, though I don't know much about her since I haven't read the books.

I think that is what I personally loved the most.  They were most like real people because they *were* so grey.
Most tolerable people are neither 100% for or against anything.  It is the shades of grey, the quirks of personality, the inconsistencies that make characters interesting to me, and yes, their flaws.

Humanity in something completely fabricated and mechanical.  TW2 did those shades of grey exceptionally well.

My reaction:

"Eh, Roche that was so cliche. Every one says that but never does it"

*Roche does it*

"...wtf man?! You actually did it?!?!"

Lol. That was my reaction as well. Roche borders on being too ruthless and that's why I like him.

Sile deTansarville is the most genuine Sorceress more so than Triss. Phillipa is from the same mold as Sabrina Glevissig. My Favourite moment is when Geralt first gets told what Dandelion is sentenced for.

That's what the servant claims, probably to save his skin (I mean, look at what Roche did). He sure as hell looked like he enjoyed it.

I would let my (teenage) children play this, if I'd any. Don't plan to do much sheltering with my progeny.
Persephone, I'm sorry CDPR doesn't cater to everyone. One day, maybe, you will see his bottom :(

If you say so, buttercup.

On a more Witcher 2 related note. Does anyone know whether the 1.2 balance changes to the prologue also affect the hard difficulty? And if they do, is there a mod that restores that difficulty to the game? I'm not looking for something that makes the entire game more difficult, but that just restores the changes made in the patch.

I think Dethmold is supposed to be eccentric and creepy. I mean look at this.
But I didn't find him to be any more of an S.O.B than the rest. And he has reasons to dislike nonhumans, his brother was murdered by Scoia'tael, despite being neutral in the war between the North and Nilfgaard.

Furthermore, Dethmold is a very good advisor and in part thanks to him, Kaedwen might have reached its zenith (If Geralt doesn't get in the way).

So yea, Dethmold is certainly my favorite sorcerer. And one of my favorite Witcher characters.

I think for me Dethmold was more of the cliche than the archetype. Out of all the characters, I liked him the least because he seemed way too familiar and the least fleshed out. At least in TW2 most of what I'd call the dark characters are somewhat fleshed out--he seemed more to be akin to Jack Kirby's Desaard, a fawning sorcerer toady and sadist.

Then again, I prefered the Ioverth path to Roche's path, as the former I felt like I was making a positive change, while following Roche I felt more or less stuck floating on a river of fate.

I felt the exact opposite on Roche's path, and will very likely like Iorveth's path less.

Sabrina Glevissig is one of the main characters in TW1's "Price of Neutrality" side adventure that comes with the Enchanced edition. She's basically a scheming **** as much as the next sorceress.

I disliked Triss greatly in TW2; I felt there was no chemistry between her and Geralt whatsoever, and the voice-over was so very bland (the way she says "Oooooh" when Geralt gives her the rose of remembrance made me cringe).

About the overall plot, I don't get why the nation of Lyria isn't involved in the politics whatsoever. Sure, the name of the game is "Assassins of KINGS" while Lyria is ruled by a queen, but that nation borders Aedirn to the south and played a very important role in the last war with Nilfgaard. The queen of Lyria should at least have been at Loc Muinne in the final chapter... it would also have been nice to see her since she was the one who made Geralt into Geralt "of Rivia".
