It´s an artifial hand, not even magicpunk one. About Rayla´s presence in the game, is it a retcon, or was she rescued in the books?
Well, she was tortured and probably even raped by the elves.
But she survives and shows up at the end of the series, described as horribly disfigured and with a hook instead of a left hand(and still pursuing and killing any elves), so yeah I guess only the appearance is a major retcon.
Who would want to do a pirate anyway.

We don't know what Triss is doing with Geralt yet. At any rate, she was the logical choice in TW1 for Alvin. Shani's just a doctor. Triss shoots lightning from her finger tips and kicks bad guys in the nuts.
Neutral options always seemed like copping out to me. I chose the Scoiatel more often than not, but its almost impossible to say which is the true moral option.
One side plans genocide of holocaustic measure. The other fights for freedom. I don´t see how this choice can be hard......
The proud freedom fighters torturing human farmers for ****z n giggles might have something to do with it.

It's the witcher the choices aren't that simple. In this case the nonhumans fighting for freedom when asking Moreen the dryad in the swamps in Act 3 she says "they have forgotten their purpose and seek only bloodshed they are children with toys"
Which is kinda true until Geralt starts helping.

Only rain and storms no other weather but the lead gameplay designer said "No snow, indeed. But rain will affect gameplay mechanics. Increased damage from lighting spells for instance. Mages can make use of that
Also for the people looking for saves go here Witcher save game market lots of people email there saves. It's awesome. And it's not really a market just a name.

**spoilers**
So you forgot the threat of child murder by the Scoiatel? Their complete disregard for human life? The way Yeavin skulks about in the shadows to assisinate a proud warrior like White Rayla, who was only a hired mercernary in the first place? And who was ruthlessly tortured by the Elves, having her hand cut off by them?
Seigfreid is a damn boyscout compared to the Scoiatel. An ignorant one, but still...
Freedom requires sacrifices, sometimes. Imo the ScoiaTael behaved very civil, considering they were unable to wage open war and thus had to resort to guerilla tactics and terrorism. They could have done much worse.
And yes, I *did* forget about them threathening to kill children, and I still do. If it is in the books - I haven´t read any, sadly, if it´s in the game, where exactly? I´d like to see for myself.

They kill random humans on the road.
They hang their captives on the trees and use them as a target practice.
They tortured Rayla, who was trying to save the refugees she was escorting along with her mercenary band.
During the battle of Brenna, they stormed into the medical tents and started killing all the injured and unarmed
people.
Isengrim "The Iron Wolf" Faoiltiarna and his deathsquad "Vrihedd". That guy uses such methods like pouring syrup all over you and cramming your head into the ant nest afterwards.
(And their symbol resembles the SS. Coincidence? I think not, dear Mr. Sapkowski.
Also, one of them willingly destroyed Jaskier/Dandelion's lute! Monstah!

So they do all that.
So what? The humans are trying to wipe out their entire race. They only kill some to make a point.
i agree that this is stupid, but it is still not nearly as bad as what the Order does. Also, unlike the Order, they can be shown the errors of their ways.
As Geralt himself puts it at some time: I agree with your goals. I don´t necessarily agree with your methods, though.

So this is why I go with neutral side ... I just chose lesser evil. If they want so be it ...kill each other, world will not miss you you little fanatics.
EDIT: freedom don't justify mass murder

So we justify their murdering acts by pointing... on another murderers? Does that make their guilt more acceptable?Tirigon wrote...

Sounds like the usual arguments with nutzis and communists.
"Nutzis killed millions of people"
"So what, commies killed MUCH more!"
Same here, I always tend to go the neutral way too. Like I said, let 'em bleed each other dry.So this is why I go with neutral side ... I just chose lesser evil. If
they want so be it ...kill each other, world will not miss you you

I wonder if they are still working for Nilfgaard as in the later books or they are on their own.

Actually reflecting your decisions in TW1 is the one thing I do not trust CD Project Red to accomplish.

Same thing in the first one. That's what gives it a higer replay value then let's say Dragon Age where consequences are usually immediate.

That's debateable. Some people think it is, others don't, it's the case of how much you value it. Take a look at the Haitian slave revolt, mass murder resulted there and yet they achieved their freedom and considered it worth it. It's all relative.
And that's the good thing about the three choices in TW1: all three options have valid reasons to pursue them, and there is no bad choice, just what you believe in. The neutral path avoids the issue, but is it really the best option? It results in the status quo being restored, for good or ill.

We can discuss if I'm right or someone else is right but true is that we all are right in some way. I pick neutral path and I not regret this.
