Not to mention there's a slight clipping issue (I've only encountered once) with Kayran armor hood, and that's the first battle with Letho in Act 1. Where the fight starts to end and initiates a cutscene, there's a scene with Geralt's forehead clipping out of the hood. No biggie, still I would like to toggle hoods.

Hmm, forgive me if I sound ignorant 'cos I don't have Steam, but is it possible to install the patch if you download it from the witcher site instead?
And yeah it is indeed unfortunate.
Nope. Tried, you can't. It would've been too easy I guess...<_<
Edit: Might as well add that I tried running the game in offline mode but it won't let me since the "patching" has already started.
This is the second time this has happened to. It's annoying it takes forever and something has to be done about it. 9gig download a patch.

The effect looks cool, but going through a forest full of Squirrels, Nekkers, Drowners etc. is really annoying because you cant see anything properly and I'm just trying to follow bloodstains!!

Indeed. Plus, downloading that **** in the background is not an option. Steam completely and utterly clogs up my computer. I tried playing WoW today while downloading Dungeon Siege 3 demo and my game kept freezing up like every 5 seconds. Multiply the size of DS3 demo with 9 and you get the size of the patch I have to download...all over again. Even with my decent net connection it takes at least 9-10 hours to download the patch and considering that I have a life and stuff, I won't keep my computer on all day just for downloading a patch.
****ing ridiculous.

i refuse to upgrade quen. i think it is too overpowered and makes the game a cakewalk. so i dnt use quen
Cool. Let us know where were you when you died in an Insane playthrough without upgraded Quen!

Letho is a lot easier if you reproduce the same tactics the guy did with a shovel, but with your jagged blade instead. Roll to avoid his bombs/aards, roll to position behind him when his Quen wears off, backstab and block to stagger him and get some more good hits too! Rinse and repeat.
That's my tactics too even before I saw the shovel video. I have the training block skill level 2 from start!

When you guys complain on Steam support page via form or email, what do they say? You do complain there, right? I mean, you can vent it off here but really should let them know about it. Thanks the Maker I have nothing from Steam. I hate their DRM philosophy even if I got it wrong. I play my games without anything running on the background. If they force it upon me, like AC2, I find a way to excercise my right to run only what I want on my PC.

Hey has anyone been able to defeat Geralt during the Assassination memory? I was able to survive a little longer by kitting him, but Geralt is ****ing hax when you aren't playing as him (or maybe he is...)

I kept kiting and Igniing his ass, but the flashback gets interrupted after a time.

I was a cheapass and showered him with knives before he got up his Quen, but that was on Hard only, I recon the same might work on Insane too.

She hides in one of the wall corners at the abadoned hospital, not inside the place, outside.

I'm sure your ideal choice with Malena after she double crosses is you saying "Pleasure me, and I'll let you live."

Hopefully in later patch, we have he option to toggle hoods on/off. Now don't get me wrong hoods are pretty badass, especially the way they are designed. However sometimes I would like to see Geralt's awesome hair but can't because the hood, and I can't switch armors because that would be a downgrade.
Hood toggle would be great. I like to use the hood for some things, but after I bought my new hairdo, I had to switch to a different outfit just to check it out

If you think the game is too easy or too hard... try this:
The Witcher 2 : Operator vs Pickaxe *INSANE*
Good luck and Stay Alive!
