Seconded. The gameplay was awkward as hell.

It's not a bad game, but... certain... people worship it like it's the second coming of Jesus. I disagree. It's not that good either.

What didn't you liked about this game exactly?

Also, cliché dark fantasy? That's kinda new to me, the last game labelled itself as that was DA:O. The rest of the market seems more like the usual "cliché fantasy".

Also people let's keep the discussion going, I don't think some "uppity" LOLWUT one-liners are helping our cause.

I wouldn't be surprised if finding Ciri will be the main plot of TW3; we know Yennefer is already in Emhyr's hands, hence he could use her as leverage to 'recruit' Geralt for his own means.

I would love to visit Dol Blathanna in TW3, not to mention Zerrikania.

Just finished the fight against the waves of groups of Nilfgaardian soldiers just prior to rescuing Triss.
I thought I had seen the worst with Letho and the Draug... On this fight, I was barely done turning the camera
around right after the guy let me know he'd just been buying time and the screen flashed "Game Over".

I tihnk he's referring to the fact they didn't shy away from the mature content and themes of the game's story and source material.

I can't tell if you disagree with the Witcher 2 being important or if you've just never encountered the word importance before.

The guy who "beats" games, likely didnt play it, just trolling. Unless maybe I missed all the cliche games that start with a King trying to get back he's children born of incest by besiging a castle.

Nerevar, importance as in a redefining genre game!

Funny how some people who probably sucks badly at the game come bashing it right after a NYT review praising it as a game that redefines expectations for an entire genre (which is ok, really, I did too on my first run... restarted at level 17 when I got the hang of it... so exactly the same as happened to me with Origins I was impressed)

Yeah, if Witcher 2 were cliche, that would be awesome. Because it would mean that there were a bunch of challenging atmospheric fantasy WRPGs with deep (albiet clunky) mechanics, good/mature storytelling, and excellent world-building.

Indeed, I cant play it in english, its just so boring in it. Polish is much more colorful language in many ways. And since I am from Slovakia its also much more closer to home

And Triss is around her 80s I think, but I am not sure, maybe she is older.

It's never stated. Yennefer is 94 during the course of "Tower of the Swallow" - Triss is probably in her forties, maybe older - she is always described as "young" among the sorceresses. Again, it's hard to tell - we can only speculate.

EDIT: Babli, I simply must ask how does the Polish language sound to a Slovakian ? I've been in your country once - in Poprad during the winter. One thing I can tell you is that beside some similar words (cuisine, swearings) I coudn't understand anyone : P

I love the Polish VO's for all the main characters. Especially the women. Triss sounds so mature and confident in Polish. She sounds like the ditzy girl next door in American.

I and my friend go to Slovakia on trip this year and he have szukać in his surname, it was verry funny when we had this explained at least me:devil:, Europe just RLZ

Haha seriously. I have no idea why they picked that particular english voice actor for the "intelligent, politically active spellcaster" role. Polish voice acting ftw

Letho sounds somewhat like a serpent slowly coiling around you as he prepares to eat you whole. "Chuckle"

Not to say the English VA is bad...because it isn't, the fact is however that English is that kind of language that is spoken softly..not harshly, which is how Polish. ( or most easter european, central european whatever, languages are. )
