Like 99,9999% games in gameplay, but story, storytelling and C&C are masterpiece. This is Goddamn RPG.

I also dunno why so many people like Mass Effect. It's ok but shooter gameplay and story wise nothing new under the sun.

See what I did there? :P

I like them both by the way. It's just all terribly subjective, that is all.

Well, there's the storytelling, the atmosphere, and so on.

Gameplay-wise, the only thing I've played that plays like it is Witcher 1 or maybe Bioshock. These games are very good at giving you a small set of options that can be creatively used to deal with encounters in an insane number of ways. (The combat's also a little unpolished in all 3 games, but for me that's less important than depth.)

I've taken to cleaning old files and using folders as RageGT has suggested. A bit of a hassle, but it works and keeps my saves organized. Just finished the elemental boss fight at Phillipa's house. Very well designed encounter imo.

I have a burning quesion in my chest.
After re-watching the first trailer of the game, I confirmed that the great voices that both Iorveth and Ledo had in the trailer were changed and ended being done by different people in-game. And the actual result is so much less satisfaying to me. Iorveth sounds more hoarse and so less noble, while the Kingslayer doesnt have that menacing tone at all...

Anynone has a clue why that happened...?

I've heard the Polish voices are worth switching to anyway. This video has a conversation between Geralt and Triss, who especially sounds more like she was written than with the American voice actress. I've heard good things about Polish Letho, too. I'm definitely going Polish for my next playthrough.

I've done 3 playthroughs now and am stopping until hopefully they fix many issues.

Unresponsive combat, the many interface and inventory issues, better ingame save game management to name but a few. And they will be fixed and tweaked atleats a little i expect as they will want a super polished game for Xbox launch rather than relying on patches.

But even with it having many issues, its still a super game and that comes down to its graphics, story, storytelling and above all imo atmosphere and dialogue.

Yeah, Dave, the tone seems to be more polished, (no pun intended) but they talk sooo fast (happens to all dialog in general) that is difficult for me to catch up.

I can handle English audio all right (not being my native language), but something so Alien as Polish with English subtitles (and at THAT speed) is a little taxing to me.

I prefer the Polish VO's for all the main characters, especially Geralt and Triss, but the subtitles flash so fast I can't keep up at times. I really like the English VO's for random NPC's. Very well done.

I personally thought the Engish VO was good, and is certainly an improvement over TW1. Not sure I'd want to try Polish, though doubtless it's good, because reading subtitles is too distracting sometimes.

I'm playing with Polish VO now (as seen in my latest 3D video). And find it really hard to judge how good it is. I quite like the English voices though. I thought Dandelion was the weakest link in TW1, but he's great in TW2 (it probably helps that he doesn't have to sing ../../../images/forum/emoticons/tongue.png).

I also decided to play with my PS3 gamepad, and it feals GREAT. (Except for navigating the inventory / shop menus, that's pretty painful. That, and I went from winning every fistfight to losing multiple in a row. Even saw Geralt be hanged because of that).

Hope so. CDProjekt did say they wanted to do get the community one but haven't heard more. Some great adventures were made for Witcher 1.

I hope in due time, a really big add-on is released. Jut finished it (like 10 minutes ago) and boy was I pi**ed when the credits started to roll. The first game had such a beautiful epilogue and end so what the hell was this?
It#s a really great game but the end was just utterly disappointing, letting us hang in the air like that.

The ending has gotten mixed reactions. I personally liked it, but to really judge, I need to play it a few more times.

LOL, Frog... why is that?

There's no way I can get used to Polish VO though. Not even if it were Portuguese the original language of the game (my mother tongue). It is like watching an original movie (english) dubbed. I like the English acting better too. Granted, Triss could be better.

I liked the ending personally. Not as epic as the first game sure, but the political intrigue and plot twist at the end of TW2 makes it more interesting, at least to me.

I have played this game through multiple times and it is just an amazing game. They are not afraid to be mature in a mature game. Great gameplay, great storytelling....just amazing.

My only complaints are the bugs, which they have fixed and are fixing as we speak. Also, the 3rd chapter was super short. If there was another chapter I wouldn't have minded but for it to be the final one of 3 main ones was a suprise to say the least. Small gripes for an otherwise outstanding game. It is getting acclaim all over the place too. Very well deserved I might add.

I was expecting some nice CGI eye candy at the end like the assassin battle at the end of the Witcher, maybe Nilfgaard scouts clashing with patrols from the North around the Yaruga (since I'm guessing the Nilfgaard-North war will serve as the backdrop for Geralt's quest to find Yennifer and deal with the Wild Hunt in the 3rd game). I also expected the Hunt to make a couple of appearances in the second game like it did in the first. It would have been nice to explore Loc Muinne more and have a few more quests and political intrigue prior to the conclusion (maybe find out more about what has been going on in Temeria). For dramatic purposes, I think the Letho-Geralt fight should have been mandatory and you should have been left with the option to spare or kill him, after the chase you went through it ends a little flat if you share a few drinks, have a talk and go your separate ways.

Apart from that I think it a pretty good job of playing middle chapter, it progressed the plot (Geralt regains his memory and learns what the Wild Hunt is) and told a pretty complete story about Nilfgaard's covert strike at the North.

^It definitely set up nicely for the third game and the DLC. 16 endings. I got a few more to go. So many ways to shape the story for the next one.
