Nice to see how people easily confuse morality with ignorance.

Plus, I have played threw the game several times (I have stated this on many occassions, people just seem to assume otherwise) so my opinion on the matter is not ficitious.

no you judge game, after seeing part of it what is absolutely optional... you have no need to colect this cards so simply forget about them and f**k of*.:bandit:. And stop trolling please

How noble of you. Now stop trolling and go get laid. Looks like you need it.

Already got it, also showed this thread and the game to a lot of my friends (women) they are the ones encouraging me to continue since they feel my concerns are justified.

From what I get from that preview he was talking only about the begining...not sure if he meant the entire ten hours preview to be linear since many of my coleagues are editors of gaming sites here where I live and they didn't mention anything like this in their hands-on...

"The Witcher 2 is going to be great. We know this because ever since Jim played the preview build, we here at RPS have had to put up with his near-constant pining for the finished game, which sounds like a cross between a lupine whimper and an Amiga 1200′s boot noise. May 17th can’t come soon enough." - Rock,Paper,Shotgun. from here  www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/04/21/indevinitely-the-witcher-2-dev-dev-diary/ :D

While I do not particularly like it, there are so many games that do it. Singling out TW for it seems like missing the elephant in the room.

Anyway, like I said, I'm not a fan, but I need to play the game to see just how outraged I am, heh. Sorry, sorry, I'll leave it there, I've said my part on this enough..

For what little it's probably worth, this woman appreciates that you even consider this. ^_^

Does anyone know if they plan to release a demo before launch? Mostly, I'm just curious about how my machine will run it.

So
true.

Every woman is more obectified in Dragon Age 2 yet I don't see peple
complaining. Isabella compared to Triss is a weak woman. She is all about sex
she was made for the male gamer. Triss is a strong woman who Geralt trust and
maybe rely on sometimes.

"And now for the important stuff:
there’s a naked woman in the first two minutes of the game. Absolutely
full-on nudity that in games you would only usually see in crap German
“erotic” titles. Earning your Mature rating there, CD Projekt!'

Well in the internet feminists defence, the way it is worded doesnt show tw2 in the best light imo <-<.

Thanks Damariel.

I have a concern. So far two previewers have mentioned how long and linear the first 10 hrs are. Really?

The
prologue in TW1 took a while, maybe an hour or so, but immediately
afterwards it opened up big time. Once you reached the outskirts, you
were completely free and even lost if you didn't rely on the journal. I
really liked this approach.

If each time I replay TW2, I am
forced to trudge through the same opening for 10 hrs, this will likely
dampen replay value for me...a lot. 10 hrs is a long time to go on the
rails. I didn't expect this from CD red; I expect it from Bioware
because their games are more fixed, their level design is more limited.

For
me, nonlinear means having the freedom to choose how you go about the
storyline, where you can travel in each area, how big it is, etc, not
just the fact it happens to have a branching storyline. Anyone else see
what I'm saying here?

The reviewer had only played few hours not the full 10 hour at the point of writing this,I think.Considering the game has been said to be about 30-40 hours long it would be a little hard to believe that they would railroad the first 25/33% of the game .

I realize the card collecting was just put in as a gimmick, but why put it in if A) Geralt in the books is nothing like that, and B) you know that a lot of uptight gamers won't be able to look past the gimmick and judge the entire game by it.

Eh,I dont think it was their intention for people to collect the cards(in fact I vaguely recall them saying just that when discussing the cards in an interview).Personally,I just thought of the cards as an inexpensive alternative for a romantic scene. Now,I dont know just how many romantic encounters there is in TW1 as I never had the urge to collect the cards like some people seem to,but I do imagine an actual scene for each and every one of them would have been quite expensive.
As for uptight gamers...Well,for some people you'd think they have around the clock wedgy, gamer or not :?

As noble as your crusade is,I would suggest it might do more good when directed at the 3rd world countries that actually to this day do suffer from sexual discrimination, rather than at a video game that dared to show a nude woman.

Regarding the notorious sex cards: I always thought they were a budget alternative to making an actual romantic cut scene. Given how many sexual encounters there are in the game, a cut scene for each would have been cost prohibitive. I never once felt like there was any incentive to collect them all.

People have fussed over this way too much, considering the two female protagonists in TW1 are the epitome of strong values. Bioware's Samara and Leliana come to mind as possible counterparts.

Yes i read this in the French site translated in to English but i am not sure it’s 10 hours, to me it sounded like some parts of the game will be linear.

Remember the prologue was maybe at max a half hour in Witcher 1. That's probably linear because it's more of a tutorial to introduce us to the new mechanics and changes.
