One thing I hope they do improve is how they handle savegames, currently my saves for TW2 equal around 1.3gb in files. The savegame utility mod really kinda sucked imho, it doesnt give you any information on which to base your deletions or keeps on. Half previews do not show image and even ones that do don't tell you much or even enough to make a decision. It doesnt even really save any time since just as easy to go to folder select and press delete as is to load that program and click each one followed by delete.

In books(if i can paraphrase it correctly) He said that both swords are for monsters, so your wither doing it wright

And here we come to why I think The Witcher games are less about role playing than they are about morality puzzles. I don't roleplay in The Witcher, I do what I as 'slimgrin' would actually do. It's hard for me to deviate from Yeavin's path, Roches path, to betray White Rayla, Toruviel, etc. I played TW1 three times before I actually began to explore different choices. In ME2 it was easy. I was playing a renegade, a paragon, etc. Doesn't work that way with The Witcher.

Although I have my doubts if you can call TW1&2 RPGs, selecting between blue/red dialogue options is definietely not role playing. Roleplaying is about defining the character as you go - the more choice, the better. In Twitcher, you play Geralt of Rivia - you don't create anything new, you can't play a sociopath Geralt or a sneaky Geralt. But at least you get to choose between sensible options, which kind of resembles an RPG in a limited scope. In ME1&2 you don't do even that. Once you have chosen for the first time to choose the Blue/Red dialogue line, you're stuck with selecting same coloured dialogues throughout the rest of the game, cause the game penalizes you, if you don't.

Yeah, it's the same thing. Sort of. The Nameless One has a crapload of incarnations, and the player can decide who he is now. Geralt had a previous life, died (kind of), and returned - with memory loss - and you decide who he is now.

I always had the impression the TW doesn't have right or wrong choices because the factions are all ambiguous. Did you read the books? I didn't so maybe it is different if you read them (but then, Geralt has amnesia so that shouldn't make a difference from a purely RPG perspective).

In terms of boss battles: The Kayran took me quite a few tries until I figure it all out.
The Operator was by far the hardest one (actually had to go down to easy only for that fight and I am not ashamed of it).

But the funniest boss fight ever: Definitely the butcher of wherever and his sidekick, who you fight in Henselts arena with the soldier Sven. I had gotten into that fight right at the start if act 2 and really wasn't ready for it. Died a couple of times there and hated to always have to hear that stupid herald again. Then on one try, the butcher comes right at me, I cast an aard sign, stunned and finished him in one strike! Haha, I really sat there for a moment, mouth hanging open before I went for the other guy. Perfect.

If you want the YouTube one, get some Flash Video downloader add-on for your browser, get the .flv or .mp4 file from YouTube and get AoA Audio Extractor to extract the audio from the video file to .mp3 or .wav files.

Once you get used to it, the Kayran is very easy. Only downside is that he can one shot you.

My favorite boss fight in terms of enjoyment would probably be Letho in Act 1. It had good build up, intense action right before with a quick choice, and a good setting (if we forget the fact that the bath was probably full of Geralt's semen...), and a great antagonist and nemesis. The taunting was great and I loved how Letho fought like a Witcher, using signs and grenades. And I loved its conclusion. It added to the mystery of the character, but also the desire to catch up with him (and potentially kill him).

That duel was my favorite in terms of gameplay and story. Letho is a great character.

Not the same thing. Can't magically turn crap audio into a better audio. It's like converting an MP3 to FLAC.

It's sort of the same for me - the only places I deviate from what I think is the "best call" in a situation is when based on something in the books or the game I think Geralt would make a particular choice. Because, as people above commented, Witcher is more about "pushing" Geralt towards a particular choice out of a set of choices he could plausibly make. I really like this aspect of the Witcher games, and I think it is dependent on the games' absolute willingness to let you make bad decisions or give your decisions major reprecussions.

Agree with you there.. The fight with Letho was one of the coolest.. Odd that Serrit and Auckes never uses signs and bombs when they are both witchers too.

Letho fights, his Quen and Aard is pain in my arse.. For me to defeat Letho, vigor regen(Virga IINM) and Aards kills Letho.

Yea the Serrit / Auckes fight could have been better. I would have loved to see them combine their skills. Say one of them throws dragon's dream and the other uses igni. Or one of them uses daggers, which are somewhat useless as it stands.

If the audio in the video is good, the extracted file will be good.

Seems like someone wants to get stuck in that fight without possibility of beating them and ending the game! I know, i know, I hate finishing it too. It's too good to end! =)

Hmm.. I rather have a free and very nice software than needing to go to a website everytime and then having to wait for an email! With a few ads I'd bet! heh

Geralt apparently also had a friend who was a vampire. So Witchers, or at least Geralt is not with a "kill all monsterz!" mentality.

The vampire who you can help at the brothel is the wife or widow of Geralt's friend actually.

The vampire he was friends with was called Regis if im remembering correctly.
I also tend to think that Geralt is pretty unique for a witcher, Dandelion comments on "Geralts inner turmoil with himself" quite frequently.
One of the comments was that, "Even if a highwayman tried to rob him, Geralt would probably stop and consider the consequences of killing said individual".

The best fight for me in the game was the Kayran. First time i fought it was at night during a storm, combine that with my surround sound and i was like wtf is that thing!! when it emerged from the water.

In Planescape:Torment you start off as a carte blanche, you can basically roleplay anyone in Nameless One's reincarnation. And it's you and the stats that decide who he is. You can be a meathead with 25 strength and 8 intelligence or an intellectual who likes to resolve conflicts without violence or a crazy chaosite who's totally unpredictable. In Witcher - not really. You're always a kind of an emo witcher who likes to ponder on his current situation, discuss philosophy while drinking vodka and who is a grim and gruff womanizer. You can't roleplay Geralt the Jew-hater dwarf-hater or Geralt the merry witcher or even king's bodyguard - he automatically says that he doesn't want to be one, even if it seems a reasonable life-career.

This guy claims TW2 needs swifter pacing, kinder gentler intro, etc if the game is to suceed on consoles. Sounds to me like he's callin' all you console players a bunch of wussies. :P

It doesn't hit me in the face = not helpful it seems.

I doubt CDPR is going to make any concessions like that. Graphics and the like, yes. But not story or gameplay.
