This guy should spend the day playing Demon Souls.  Probably make him cry.  Veteran RPG players on consoles should have little trouble with The Witcher 2.

Console gamer that finished Ninja Gaiden/Devil May Cry/Demon's Souls/Bayonetta should have no problems with TW2. It's a very easy game in comparison.

The biggest threat is that console gamers that finished those games will go into TW2 expecting a similar action game, be turned off by the combat which is way inferior to those games, and drop the game.

Pfft...99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of the population plays those games on "Easy Automatic" mode anyways. The pansies.

And in the case of Demon Souls, I think most people give up in 3:1. The only game to get Mind Flayers right...ever...and people are too afraid to fight them. Why couldn't Forgotten Realms make an rpg with Illithids like this?

My reaction? Kinda "that sucks". I know my "true play through" and import save (?) will be on Roche path so it kinda sucks that Iorveth's path only has that choice....guess I'll just let her live and hope for a later solution in expansion/sequel altough I doubt it.

I accidentally stumbled upon IGN Witcher 2 Wiki (?) and  if I understood the text correctly, it is one of first Wikies on IGN. I consider myself a Witcher newbie so I am not going to participate in it, but if some of you guys have some free time and are willing to add or correct anything, check it out at:

I found the best review of the Witcher to be the guys at GameBanshee--they were very fair and brought up the mistakes I agreed with.

As far as sales go, it's pretty disappointing in North America.

Assuming this interview is correct, and I assume it deals with the direct orders including Digital Downloads, I have a feeling the success of the XBOX 360 version will determine if we get a sequel or not. (He says only 150,000 were pre-ordered).

Yeah... This is sad. But kind of understandable with the little money they spent in advertising (comparing to say... EA titles). Only informed people seem to know about the Witcher.


I wonder how many millions of books have Sapkowski sold up til know... That should influence smthg I guess...

Those are physical copies only, digital tends to be about an order of magnitude higher.  Finding a store where I live that sells physical copies of PC games other than Blizzard stuff is difficult and even if you do, digital is cheaper and more convenient.

The Witcher series is something that Europe should support proudly. Which I think they already are.

Yea, it's a shame that TW2 is not doing as well on the North American market (that and it's a shame they have poor tastes in that part of the world in general. And I live there). But I don't think it's necessary for a sequel. The first Witcher sold well enough to be able to make a sequel, and all articles and stats I've seen shown it's pretty much succesful.

Not by much, as opposed to using Yrden to trap one of the tentacles and then hacking with your sword, you put down the trap and it rips one of the tentacles apart.  The problem is that it takes longer to put down the trap than it does a Yrden, so you're really only saving yourself from the cutting and you're risking a whack from a tentacle.  I suppose if you're keeping Quen up it's helpful since your vigor isn't regenerating . With 3 points of vigor you would have just enough to put up Quen, Yrden 2 tentacles and trap the third.

Use the trap on a tentacle to the right, then get two tentacles to the left ( where you have a nice safespot once you destroy one and the thing starts trashing ).

The trap helps on the right most because you do get more time to leg it to the left!

WOW the sales is so BAD! ... So it's officially proven that SH!T sells (DA2 - Few Million copies sold) and quality product (TW2 - 500K copies only).
