On another matter (and please avoid spoilers for later in the game...) how do you like the "dream-like" sequences or sum-ups they did in that cartoon-anime style? (I know, its not "proper" anime, bear with me).

I'm fine with them. Probably largely thanks to the amazing music.

Am curious to see how the CG/prerendered stuff done for the 360 release will work out.

I actually liked the art style, it was almost reminiscent of early renaissance woodcuts. The 360 isn't getting CGI for all of those cut scenes is it?

Interesting fun fact: TW2 is a mere $37 on Amazon. Why the sudden price drop? Also, the Xbox version is available for pre-order.

Well it's a sad fact that it's probably piracy and given that it's a single player game and less popular overall, the game suffers in sales despite a quality title. Moreover i guess many didn't try seeing that they alot were disappointed with the first Witcher 1's combat.

Hopefully they can make more with the XBox version but that will be a sign of more consolizing for later titles to come.

I completely with Drzzit, Khayness and Brock. I prefer the TW1 type of paintings. Or the Witcher World TW2 trailer. I actually prefer the latter over the former.

The ones in TW2, while not bad perse, felt out of place.

I thought the ones in TW2 were a pretty decent fit for the dark vibe the animation represented, but the style from the WWTW2 trailer may have been a better fit overall.

I really liked the TW1 paintings though. They were bleak while representing glimmers of hope for the most part, good fit for the first game.
Making it different for the 2nd game seemed right I think, although I really REALLY liked the painting of Adda and Radovid sitting together. It looked so sweet, nice, hopeful and just made me smile.^_^
Were it available for sale in a normal painting size I probably would've bought it.

Okay... with that said I'm no longer sure.

CDP meeting with stockholders. (not full official info, but )

One of CDPR teams working on PS3 edition and have developer PS3's.

Coming soon release of W2 in Japan is not too important itself, it is a part of campaning before console version. Console->Japan->PS3

They want W3 released at the same time on all 3 platforms.

That is way to make interested other dev's with their engine, Kiciński said that Red Engine is easy to learn. So they want license Red Engine.

Well...this was inevitable. I just hope that they will use full potential of the modern PCs like they did with W2.

There is more writen there , its long post so kindaa hard write summary since most is about market and whole company and stock.

About red engine and release on 3 platforms at one time, post says that red engine is being made that after you make game  all 3 version will be made(something like CryEngine 3 me thinks) so their trying write universal engine for all platforms.

Also Optimus S.A. name that CDP was on stock will change to CD Project Red S.A.

About PS3 small team that is apperently existing at CDPR they are now (rumours) working at adjusting Red engine to PS3

CDRP recruits new staff( also not from Poland) etc.

About Xbox360 TW2 it will be completed at end of summer/early autumn a then it will need to get MS certificate (about 1-2 months)

And CDP will continue its policy to make full games without cuting content to make DLC so payable will be only full size expansions - its all common knowledge but nice to see that on meeting with shareholders they still hold to that policy :)

There are more details but as i wrote it to much to me to translate :)

I'd like it even better if they confirmed an expansion pack is in development.

I agree that the 6 page review from GameBanshee is the best one of Witcher 2, I've read. I just thought I would point to a review in a place (N.Y. Times) where you might not see reviews for such games Witcher 2, if reviews for games at all.

As for sales, you'll need to at least double the figures being reported at say VgChartz or other places. At best, they can give you a trend for sales for this game. This is because sales in Eastern Europe/Russia are not counted nor is digital sales.

The game is doing quite well then if the countries where the character is more popular aren´t included.

Roche is a bro. Playing the game again through Iorveth's path, Iorveth just isn't as cool.

At least he has a prison. Iorveth wouldn't bother having any.

I like Iorveth, but Roche is certainly more of a bro.
And yes, more of a badass.

Anyone else think the Kayren and Dragon fights may have been designed with 3d implementation specifically in mind? Also, why are vendors selling food? There's no use for it, that I know of.

Seems they did bare 3D in mind at least. I've been unable to adjust convergence, but the default setting seems to work ok.

Vendors selling "junk" (which food is classified as) is probably mainly there for flavour.

I'd hate to think they centered gameplay mechanics around a gimmick like 3D ( sorry if that offends anyone, just my opinion) but with my second run almost under my belt, I can't shake that impression. It's not that they are bad, they're just lacking in the strategy I'm forced to pull out in the other boss fights.

I believe food idea was scrapped off last minute. Many stuff were also scrapped off too i guess. It makes no sense to me when you were brewing potions there were no alcohol involved.

I actually miss the diverse alcoholic drinks in TW1. You could bribe people with liquor too, I loved that.

Nah, I doubt they did. But I guess if they're pushing 3D hard with a PS3 release, I might reconsider.

That's the way it's suppose to be, damnit, and how gaming companies started out.

DLCs are part of why today's games are generally lacking in content and dev dedication compared to 5 or 10 years ago.

Not to mention most DLCs are fluff, tiny, meaningless, badly/lazily done...

Hmmm....

As long as they don't neglect PC hardware for the sake of consoles I don't care.  DICE is doing it the right way with Battlefield 3 on the PC.  I'll expect the same from The Witcher 3.
