Yennefer would need a really good voice actress.

I'd buy into the premise utterly if it was Claudia Black

Bloody hell, she's just what I imagine Yennefer would look like as well. And we all know she can play the seductive ball breaker before her breakfast gats cold, good call.

Claudia would be perfect, yes. But I won't ever be able to separate her from Morrigan. :(

I'm not against having Yennefer in TW3, but she has serious competition, and to introduce a canon character like that so late in the game series is problematic to say the least. I wanted to b*tch slap her in The last Wish, seriously. She just used Geralt, nothing else.

The same can't be said of Triss, who has helped Geralt numerous times, without any self gain.

It'll probably be another choice knowing cdpr, those guys like giving us the big choices. I can just see Geralt breaking poor Triss's heart though, he's sometimes a bit of a bell end who wouldn't know a good thing if it kicked him in the nuts.

I paid serious attention to clues about The Wild Hunt and Yennifer so they better be the main focus in 3 damnit.

Geralt or you? I blew Triss off in the first game in favor of Shani.  I only dragged her along in chapter 1 for sex in the ruins. :)

Lol. We are always given the choice, and I nearly always chose Triss. In TW1, she was the one who did the nut kicking to save Alvin ( only if we talk to Alvin later in Murky Waters do we learn this ) Shani just wasn't capable enough imo. Am I bit smitten with Triss, is she CDPR's pet character? Perhaps. But I'm sold up to this point. She seems genuine to me; one of the few genuine characters in the whole series. I'll eat my socks if I'm wrong. :)

Edit -  sorry Bloth, that was poorly worded. Not meant as an insult to you.

I personally am more interested in the amnesia side of it. Does Geralt think he needs to conform to his "previous life" (which involves Yennefer), or does he embrace his "new life" (which involves Triss)? Or does he decide not to give a damn about either (and / or screw both and run away)?

They do need to introduce Yennefer strongly though, with an excellent VA that can give a powerful performance.

Aye Erich i might just be sticking a bit of my personality on Geralt, oh but there's no doubt in my mind that Triss would give her all for the witcher Slimgrin but in the hard world of the northern kingdoms such devotion seems a little dangerous. It would be nice to have that Vincent Meis kind of ending if we work hard enough though, a fairy tale in a world of horror and loss that is all the more precious for its rarity.

That's a damn good point knight, I always like the old we are what we do philosophy personally but with an awakening memory I can see Geralt being tempted by the we are shaped by the sum of our experiences argument especially with so many old friends and enemies around.

I also think that the gravest mistake they made was not to introduce Yennefer in a proper way, as a character (even if using only flash-backs). So the players that dont no any better... er... I mean
"that didn't read all the books" lol  :P (like Slimgrin here) will have no real conflict when presented choice between her or Triss...

By the way... Anyone up to reading "The Sword of Destiny" in English can go over here...  :bandit:

We manage to trace (nearly) all fan translations of the book. Six stories;
2 Yennefer/related, 2 about Dandelion and other mishchiefs,
2 about Geralt's lucky encounter with Ciri.  :wizard:

It looks like TW3 is going to have Geralt choose between Triss and Yennefer (as some kind of major/side romance sub-plot).

I´d rather choose between Yenn and Essi Daven, but I don´t think they´ll bring her back too (nor is there an easy way to do it as with the main couple). I dislike Triss and the Lodge since a certain moment in the 6th book. The *******.

What I expect from W3, let's start this off again:

I'd love to see some new faces, as I have mentioned before Yennifer being in W3 is possiblie. They shouldn't drop Triss Merrgold, in fact they should use her to create a love triangle and maybe some fighting where the PC has to choose which one he wants.

As for the overall story. He should be after the imperial army, chasing through towns to find out where they are and in the end a huge all out battle like they did in W2. Of course their will be shady companions, side story lines but just going off that. That is a massive amount they could do and new choices.

1. I hope Triss Merrgold stays

2. I hope Yennifer makes more then apperance in W2 but actively involed in the storyline. Perhaps she can be the shady untrusting girl

3. Expecting new moral choices, maybe this time the fate of more then just Kings hang in the balance. I love the way they don't overblow the storylines. (Fate of world is depending on you) it's more then a few parts of land, equally havng their disputes. Maybe they should tune up the volume on the next series.

4. More of the same sexyness. I agree some people PETA, may not agree with the naked male, female body. Even though it's shown in adult movies and it makes billions per year. They wouldn't censor a book, so why censor the final product like DA2. Are they that worried, people will run at them with pitch forks.

Spoilers...

They won't be bringing Essi Daven anytime soon. She died four years after the events of "A Little Dedication" during an outbreak of smallpox in Vyzima. No magic, no wild hunt, no children with power to cross dimensions.... hmm, would be kind of hard to bring her back as you've noticed already.

But having Istredd to appear could be interesting. Didn't he said he would "follow Yennefer to the end of the world" ?:P

Also, shameless promotion of Essi "Little Eye" Daven, since I can't find any fanart that would do her justice.

I'm probably gonna be unpopular saying this, but I'd rather they didn't cast Claudia Black as Yennefer. Aside from the association with other characters, I just don't think she would suit the character, Yen isn't a teenage wangstfest like Morrigan is, and actually has class. Sorry, but just as when people cried out asking for Sarah Michelle Gellar to play American McGee's Alice when they were thinking of making a film for it I'm gonna have to say no. As another poster has said, she needs a strong VA, and I don't think bringing in someone that you're gonna recognise for something else will do her justice.

I'd be more interested in seeing new talent being cast, plus the money saved not hiring overrated celebs could go into the actual game itself.  A new person would enable us to focus on the talent itself too rather than "omigod awesome Buzz Lightyear guy!!!"

Doubt that Spain's did watch Witcher TVseries, especially that it's piece of sh*t worse than DA2 :P

But Witcher Books? I'm really suprised that some USA publisher didn't translate it already.

Actually, they *are* translating it. But some dick decided to leave out Sword of Destiny(Meč Osudu, you'll understand:lol:) and go straight to the saga.

So I just started playing the witcher 1 again and I just got something... *SPOILERS*

The assassin at the end, Who the hell is this guy? When Geralt gets his memory back about when he saved Letho, There were only him, Letho, Aucks and Serrit, Where is the other dude? Did he know Geralt like Serrit and Aucks? Also... Letho doesn't even mention him at the end where he said he was captured by the Nilffgardians [I spelled that wrong didn't I?]

So... Any Theories?

Damn, I absolutely loved her. When I was reading it, I hoped that she will appear in games, But then ending came and it was clear she wont. I almost cried, it was very, very sad :( same with *SPOILER*
Regis
*SPOILER*, who is my favourite character of the whole Witcher universe. He was at least mentioned in first game numerous times.

Presumably just another guy from the School of the Viper. Associated with Letho, but not a former buddy of Geralt's.

Could be a plot hole too, but I prefer this explanation. Except... did Letho's guys start trying to kill kings before Demavend then? And if so, why start with Foltest?

Demawend was killed three months before first attempt of assassin on Foltest. At least I think that it was like that.

Geralt in the beginning says about ending of 1st game that "it was nearly a month ago" and cutscene with Iorveth meeting Letho shows that they met four months before events of TW2 If I remember it correctly. And Letho already had Demawends head.

If there's one plot hole in the story is this. Events at La Vallete Castle take place 1 month after Gerald defeated the Grand Master and saved Foltest.  Then the flash back with Letho and Yorveth says "4 months ago"... so Demavend was dead 3 months before Foltest went for his children, unless Geralt was in prison for a long time but Roche wouldn't be there if that was the case. He was there with Foltest so it's mo0re likely that he talked to Geralt at the dungeon not longer after that.

Now, wouldn't everyone know about Demavend's death? Geralt didn't know about it until Roche told him at the dungeon, IIRC.
