EDIT: I also noticed that you can't craft Geralt's personality like you can Hawke or Shepard. I'm guessing this is the same in TW2? Geralt does all the talking until a choice arises?
I wish people would just stop with this bull**** and notice the IDENTITY mainquest in the journal.
Naww. Looks like i asked a question that struck a nerve.
Anyway, the game is starting to pick up a bit now. I liked the ending Act 1 decision, wasn't any concrete proof either way. I also like how the game tracked my decision in the prologue, now the Salamndra are all over my ass..

Unfortunately, neither game does allow you create Geralt's personality, it's already established in the books and you can only choose between things the books' Geralt could do.Gibb_Shepard wrote...

You can play against it (like accepting money for contracts on men, not bothering with lifting curses and go straight for the kill, etc.). The Indentity quest also allows you to shape Geralt's personality by chosing his motives (you can be a sarcastic bastard who feels out of place or a bloodthirsty misanthrope for example).
But I guess it doesn't count as roleplaying, since there aren't any Tone Icons, or they aren't shown in red/blue.

Is the Witcher 2 a good game? Yes!
Is the Witcher 2 a Legendary game? Not even close!
Was chapter three and the epilogue both a disgrace to the series and gaming in general? Yes!

Ughh...
Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion, but not to his/her own "facts". Chapter III is a drawback and one that does weigh heavily on the game, but disgrace ? If every game out there put at least this much effort in tying up the plot then God damn me, we woudn't have disappointing endings

Gladly the 99% of gamers in the planet that played the game disagree with you. And most of serious reviewers too.
1- It is an awesome game, not just good.
2- Even the NYT said it: But every once in a while a game arrives out of the blue that redefines expectations for an entire genre.
3- It sucks to be you! Having the series disgraced by such an awesome closing chapter! My condolences.
@Gibb_Shep - I feel you will end up loving the game by the time you finished it and will replay it some more for higher diff, advanced alchemy, awesome attack combos and different choices. All knowledge that is not easily extracted from just one run.

It's close to legendary to me. And yes Chapter 3 is way too short. The game levelling system is also quite artificial if you asked me..
There's force levelling when you completed certain main quest. I gained 5 levels out of nowhere after completed some of the main storyline. The game has not sufficient content for proper levelling hence there's artificial levelling.
The story and plotline is pure wicked.

I was wondering where she is too. She's supposedly praying at a shrine. I gotta see this before they patch it out. I lost my second run ( accidentally deleted) so if someone has done this please post it on youtube, lol.
I've tried to find it now... Entered every single house in Vergen, Where is this shrine? Is it where the council took place with Saskia and the Prince?

This won't be a popular opinion, but I rather wished for more 'pointless' fetch quests in TW2. I mean there isn't an ounce of filler in the game which is admirable, but there's nothing wrong with cashing in on some monster trophies that boosts your xp a bit, or perhaps a few more random quests unrelated to the main story. I'm stoked to see what this new DLC is like.
I pretty much feel the same way. Even better than DLC would be a giant expansion pack devoted to monster hunts and sidequests (wishful thinking on my part).

Now i hope they can quickly finish the console version, grab some profits and moved on to Witcher 2 expansion or Witcher 3.
Too bad they are not huge.. I'm kinda interested with their new IP too.

No. It's full with huge decisions on top of all the previous decisions biting you in the ass.
It feels like a series ending double episode, short, but damn intense.

Woah. That's way over the top my friend. In my opinion Assassin's of Kings ended where it had to end. If you look at the narrative, the major plot points on the story were all fulfilled and everything came together. As someone who apreciates stories, I found it beautiful (well, the fights with the dragon and Letho are disappointing). The replayability there is nice too as others have mentioned. What I would want would be more and longer sidequests there. The arm wrestling was too short for example. The gargoyle's one was very nice on the other hand. If it had more interactive NPCs, it would be way better. I was a little disappointed with Loc Muine. I wanted to explore it more and maybe talk to the students and solve some problems with monsters and maybe getting into other issues there or maybe a work for the factions. And that can be solved with DLC.Ulous wrote...

Like me you are entitled to your opinion but using a statistic like 99% clearly isn't opinion based, you are stating something based purely on your own annoyance at my opinion, their is no way you can talk on behalf of 99% of gamers who played this game, again ones perception of a serious reviewer is also opinion based, in your case I assume that anyone that said the game was good/average is not a serious reviewer and anyone that says it is legendary is a serious reviewer......... if that is the case then i'm afraid that is not how it works.

Your opinion and I respect that, but I disagree.

I don't really follow NYT reviews to comment if this is good or bad.

Not at all, i'm more than happy being me
Again purely my opinion on the way I feel about chapter three and the even more dissapointing epilogue, it's not about it being short, it is about the feeling of almost complete abandonment of the game after chapter 2, couple this with the 1980's style dragon boss fight where it's next move becomes readable by tedious trial and error then it made for quite a dissapointing and uninspiring battle.................. Now don't even get me started on the fight with Letho (if you chose to fight him that is).
But like I have already said I have played through the game a few times now and that is at least some testament to how good the game is, but when replaying I am almost having my fun ruined in anticipation of chapter three, then the extra dissapointment of reaching it.
