I disagree, since I ended a neutral playthrough with both Yaevinn and Siegfried alive (talked them both down).

Ah I was curios about this. Thanks for the info.
Though it's not surprising he doesn't became grandmaster on his own. Geralt is the one who is responsible for that.

Any news on new dlc?
The next patch will have a new quest for chapter 2. Though CD Projekt's stance on a release date is pretty much "when it's done".

I thought by and far, the worst aspect of all TW2 was its voice acting. There were dozens of lines that made me cringe. To be fair, this isn't all characters or actors, but many of them. I found Triss was the worst voice actor in the game, and I found this surprising since she is a main character.
Spoiler,
My favorite moment in TW2 was Roche killing Deathmold

I agree, I recently watched Toegoff´s Lets play and voice acting...well wasnt that bad but in polish its just perfect. And I agree, Triss is the weakest link in main characters...she sounds too young, her polish voice actress sound much more mature and confident.scyphozoa wrote...
I just finished TW2. I have to ask, obviously there is going to be a bias in The Witcher thread, but did anyone else have difficulty listening to the voice acting?

Yea there is some bad VA. But I cut them slack cause it's not their native language and they translate it into a bunch of languages. But look at these two trailers. I wish they kept the original voice actors for Zoltan, Iorveth and Letho.
Letho and Iorveth Slip to 2:20
Zoltan Skip to 2:15.
Also I can't remember if Dandelion is the same voice actor but I don't really it. He doesn't sound like someone who would be traveling with a group of mages, witchers and nonhumans. He sticks out imo.
Triss sounds young. Though I didn't mind her so much not sure why the changed her VA from the original though.

Personally, I found Letho and Triss a bit weaker than the rest of the "main cast", but Roche, Geralt, Henselt, etc. were just flat out awesome.

The VA is definitely not on par with say Bioware games.
But I personally thought they were decent enough that it didn't ruin my enjoyement. I definitely saw Triss as the weakest link. But I thought the rest were decent. That said, the VA and especially facial animations / expresions, could use some improvements.
And I think I am the only one who prefer the new voices for Letho and Iorveth.
Especially Iorveth. The old trailer version sounds too much like Yaevinn imo (darker, but still noble). Too noble for someone who is very down to earth, gritty and rough when compared to the (high) idealism of Yaevinn (Iorveth says that). Nobility and elegance suit Yaevinn a lot, but not Iorveth imo. I wasn't a big fan of Iorveth's in-game voice until he put the mob back in its place in Act 2. After hearing that, I could not have Iorveth any other way.

Count me in.
On the other hand, I did not like ingame's Letho's intonation and pronounciation very much. The way he put stress on the beginning of almost every word - he sounded like a street gangster sometimes.

Just having some fun with the enormously well voice acted dawn of war series and the contrast is amazing, Avitus bellowing that his mind is his own to a slaughtered tyranid zoanthrope is such a strong piece of voice work and adds so much to the characters violent raging personality (and hints at the dark secrets that will corrupt him in chaos rising) but then again Cyrus in that game is an almost carbon copy of Geralts delivery so i can't say that it is all good but i'd like a performance somewhat more like Vernon Roche's where the character has subtle and not so subtle emotional shift as i'm a bit tired of the tough guy intonation.
Then again i'm fully intending to replay the whole game when the next patch hits so I can't be that put off by the voice acting.

My only problem with Triss' VA is she didn't put emphasis on words where I felt it would have sounded better.
So far, I've only played through the Prologue so that's all I have to go on. The context of her lines and facial expressions told me she was supposed to be pissed off at Geralt for something, but the voice acting didn't match with that.

I think that's the point really. Letho is supposd to sound like a mindless brute, while in reality, he's a pretty competent chessmaster.
also, maybe it's just me, but the way he pronounces words sounds snakish like for some reason. His intonations going up and down sporadically reminds me of a snake. I do not know if that was intended (which it could be, he is afterall a snake and from the vyper school).
I think one of the better VOs is Dethmold's. That guy sounds creepy, whether he's deliberately sounding creepy and especially when he's not (as in acting friendly).

Can anyone explain to me why King Henselt hulks out and smashes a priest's skull into the stone sculpture? He does this during a duel with Saskia and the priest tries to intervene. Is it normal dueling procedure to skullbash anyone who interrupts? Instead of winning the duel and killing Saskia, he chooses to attack the priest?
This was an incredibly confusing scene for me.
