Hmm im alittle worried on the combat.. Read the preview from http://www.pcgamer.c...cher-2-preview/
A swing takes 2 seconds and there's no way to cancel it and masses of creatures swarms to you.
I would suggest you watch the combat video from CDPR spring conference(combat start around 16:00 ).Imo it looked like you need to make a mistake for it to get in the way in any way(like allow yourself to be surrounded by enemies),but better you judge for yourself.
I have previously watched the CDPR conference and i didn't actually see the problem describe by the previewer from PCGamer though.

I was talking to one of my friends about some of the issues I have with this game and she invited me to her univeristy to talk with a debate/discussion group which actually did a group meet about The Witcher last year and how people can perceive the different elements in there view points.
Well I talked about (and showed them) this thread and some other stuff, and I heard a lot of insiteful discussions for both sides of the arguement. The professor then asked me if I was aware of how global views can alter someones perception of a moral/social discussion, I said yes, then he asked why I didn't use that information in my replies..... I honestly had no answer. He talked about what he felt was the assumtion method of discussion - when you are in a debate and such and you know little about the opposition and there side some people tend to (aware of it or not) fill in the missing information with stuff that gives your person a better sense of "Your Right", and he was correct, a lot of my talk had become rather heavy handed and I even noticed how I was going from implying that is was just porn to all out stating it was.
We then also discussed more about how it is hard to present your own side of a discussion, especially online, when the people reading do not know the type of person you are, your experiences in life, or how you were brought up since these can factor into your overall view of things.
Anyway in the end he stated I may have been imposing a hard stance due to some events that happened in the area involving violence and sexual conduct towards women which is giving a strong bias which is not favourable in a proper discussion.
But the part you will appreciate, one of the members will be bringing in The Witcher 2 about a week after release and they are going to do a proper and unbiased overview of the game allowing people to see what they may deem controversial in the proper context of the games story rather than just quick stills and snippits. this will be followed by a panel were the group will discuss social views of the more mature content and how these views alter depending on which region of the world people live in, if possible time permitting a hands on period will be allowed.
So in the end this is actually a good experience for me, got a good reminder of proper discussion, and I get to see a total non-bias overview of the game as well as a sit down civil discussion......... and pizza.
I hope this works out as it would be nice to actually meet people and talk about the with proper context rather than insinuation and speculation.

Sounds interesting! Would love to see something like that personally - anything on the subject online tends to take a nosedive quite swiftly.wolfsite wrote...

Short of huge public outrage, I don't see why they would, and even that seems unlikely. Most games with similar levels of content manage to fly under the radar anyway, so I wouldn't worry.Blood-Lord Thanatos wrote...

This is the only time I ever paid more then $100 on any game ever. Seems worth it.
You are tempting me to buy two versions, i already ordered the GOG version but that looks very tempting.
I love the cards.
