Can anyone explain to me why King Henselt hulks out and smashes a priest's skull into the stone sculpture? He does this during a duel with Saskia and the priest tries to intervene. Is it normal dueling procedure to skullbash anyone who interrupts? Instead of winning the duel and killing Saskia, he chooses to attack the priest?
This was an incredibly confusing scene for me.
There's a plot-related reason for this that I don't want to spoil. Keep playing Ch. 2 and you'll find out

But I can't wait to discuss story and characters. I already want to write a blog about the politics in TW2 and the issues that they bring that are very relevant in our modern times. And a blog about Iorveth, to show my interpretation of him evolving from a desperate terrorist to an idealistic fighter (for the independent Pontar). And also one to expand on my post that I made here comparing and contrasting him with Roche

In The Witcher 2, Geralt has a bigger emotional range than Shepard does in either Mass Effect, and huge improvement over how he sounded in the first Witcher.
My only problem with Triss' VA is she didn't put emphasis on words where I felt it would have sounded better.
So far, I've only played through the Prologue so that's all I have to go on. The context of her lines and facial expressions told me she was supposed to be pissed off at Geralt for something, but the voice acting didn't match with that.
Doug C*ckle does a better job this time around, but I can see why people aren't a fan of the monotone delivery. Maybe I'm in the minority on this but I thought most of the voice acting in English was excellent, right up there with Bioware. Triss, Letho and Dandelion were the only weak links imo. Just walking through flotsam and listening to people was fun, and while some phrases were repeated too often ( how many times do I have to be reminded to drop my f*cking guard...) the troup of English actors they hired did an excellent job.
I really encourage people to play in Polish. Certain characters like Triss, Geralt, and Sila sound so iconic to me. And Polish Geralt is the Geralt.

I may have a crush on you now....(big Radovid fan).
I think I am in the minority that likes TW2 english voices (and the even smaller minority that likes Letho) as well, but I don't know if I'd say it's "excellent", but that's semantics at this point. There is still definitely room for improvement, and they certainly did improve from TW1.

For some reason the ribald lyrics of the songs and speech in Flotsam always remind me of the lyrics of Jethro Tull, they share a kind of folksy filthiness that cracks me up.

I would actually rather you or someone else just tell me. I've beaten the game and I don't understand that scene. To be fair, it was very clear that a lot of the game's lore was going over my head because I did not play TW1 and I did not go out of my way to do research. It is quite possible there is a clear explanation, but I did not understand it.
Please, explain.

well a odd place to ask this question but i was hoping perhaps someone can recommend a decent rpg which came out any time after 2006. As im just out of uni and got a lot of time on my hands. Have already played bioware games, witcher 1 2 etc. Asked this here as most of the folks in this thread seem to like similar things in games as me.
Torchlight 2 comes out soon if you like dungeon crawlers and it will have online co-op, finally.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution download the beta it's really good and is now a must buy for me.
Also these three games were just released on Steam today!
Dungeons of Dredmor
Breath of Death VII Released with bonus content
Cthulhu Saves the World Released with bonus content
What's even better Dungeons of Dredmore is only $4.69 and Breath of Death and Cthulu can be bought in a double pack for $2.69.

Henselt must have imagined how Foltest was killed and at the same time he was in the same position. That is why he acted fast and pushed the priest away and continuosly throwing him to the stone structure.
On the other hand, someone mentioned Radovid.. I kinda despise him now for what he did for Phillippa. I think he is evil.

Am I the only one who actually really liked the ending? I loved that you could have a choise and it felt epic to finally just walk away after all that had happened.

Hmm i can't understand why she deserve it? She wanted the lodge to have a state of their own much the same like saskia, henselt, stennis wanted pontar valley. If she deserves it, then the rest deserve the same as well. Is it not?

Perhaps you miss the part where she was dirrectly involved in the mass murder of 3.000 soldiers from both sides to achieve her goal in the first battle of Vergen. Perhaps you miss the part where she assassinated one King and is said to have killed another ( Radovid's father ). Perhaps you missed the part where she used mind control to achieve her ends.
Don't compare that **** to Saskia or even Henselt.

She helped design a plot that killed King Demavend. Is that not enough? The only reason it was ok for Roche was because he can get away with it. But Geralt knows the lodge hired Letho to kill Demavend. They are as much guilty of his death as Letho if not more for having planned the whole thing. He barely escaped after all so the lodge must have gave him some good advice or information to get out a live.

I did not forget that she and sile was the mastermind behind demavend's death. sile mentioned they are just choosing the lesser evil. if phillippa deserves it, then sile is also deserving the same.
is there any proof that radovid's father was ordered assassinated by eilhart? yeah she uses mind control on saskia but she did her no harm and actually reveal the dagger that dispel the mind control if you lead her out from dungeon.

The books mention she was responsible for it. I also love how you ignore Vergen.
As for your lesser evil. "looks at Aedirn if Stennis dies" yeah...sure. I will buy that. I like her as a character, but I know exactly what she is. A selifhs, scheeming, mass murdering, imoral, ****.

I'm not ignoring.. Perhaps in the book it was meant that she was truly evil.. Perhaps i grasped the wrong idea but she was not portrayed correctly in the game to lead me to think she is the equivalent of Dethmold particularly her facial expression and her voice acting.
