Do you guys have any tips for gaining high levels in TW2? So far, I only managed to reach a level somewhere between 27 and 29 at the end of the game. And I'm convinced I can reach higher levels than that.

Act 2 the cursed battlefield before you have to cross to the other side. Those wraiths give between 45 and 75 xp per kill, but they also hurt like hell, somewhere around 120 damage per swing/shot.
Quen is a must, and Dancing Star bombs are also quite indispensable.

Well, guess it's rotfiends then.

Already finished the nekker contracts, so there's nothing left for me there. And there are few drowners in Chapter 1 too.

Rotfiends are also very scarce in Chapter 2...

How about the mines below Vergen? They contain a lot of monsters. Harpies could be handy too.

There is a cave beneath Henselt's camp. go in there, kill all the Rotfiends, get to the exist, meditate 24 hours and go in back to kill some more.

Like Costin said. I usually get to 33-34 right at the start of act 3. Then 35 short after. Always finish act 1 at 13, near 14.

Uh... I, um... I sided with Iorveth on my second playthrough instead of Roche...

I doubt they'll let Scoia'tael near Henselt's camp. :?

Nice bit of dialogue at the end of the prologue Knight when you don't rust Roche immediately which lays out both his intent and the central theme of the game. Might be a bit long though.

Vern: Let me tell you a story. There was a witcher who was accused of murdering a monarch.
Geralt: Wrongly accused.
Vern: The charges against him were serious and only one man could help him.
Geralt: Let me guess - a handsome prince.
Vern: The commander of the blue stripes. Sadly, the witcher refused his help and was hanged.
Geralt: I prefer happy endings.
Vernon: Then help me, Geralt.

Might be too long.

I can't believe that Vernon doesn't have a badass and informative quote at the same time.

Roche has a few. Some even if Geralt follows Yorveth path, after crossing the mist for some act 2 questing. I'll be reaching another possible spot for that soon and pay more attention this time.

Right now I'm more focused on the Responsiveness discussion at my GoG's thread and while I wait the upload for a video to show some of it, I just had this up for fun: The Witcher 2 - Bad Bad Witch Posted Image

Damned, he's made a mockery of us. If that's how he wants to play then we'll make him regret it.

I tried what you said with the W and medialion keys, hmm personally I never saw much of an issue ( except Geralt moving foward on his own volition ).

But I want something that also explains what the Blue Stripes are. Iorveth has two quotes, but it feels wrong to have him quoted for Roche.

Costin's suggestion is nice. I only got the "Just like the good old days... Haven't killed a Nilfgaardian for years!" when Roche is there for Geralt despite anything. =)

Problem is that Geralt does the very same 2 steps thing sometimes when I'm trying to chain some combo attacks... heh

Actually you can get into those caves under the camp, choose to talk to the ****s and use their passage looking for Triss. Explore those caves, there are a couple special beasties in there.

I am really confused, as the chain attack hiccup thing is something I never experienced.
The only big hiccup is me sometimes being unable to use strong attacks against Rotfiends

XP from kills decreases as you gain level but quest rewards stay the same (so try to kill the monsters before you complete quests).  I suggest heading to caves under Flotsam (Malena quest) as soon as you've prevented the hanging in chapter 1 and bought the grapeshot recipe.  The Nekkers are easy to kill and you can get up to level 10 in about and hour and a half.  After that you don't get enough XP to make it worthwhile.  That should be enough to ensure you hit max level on Iorveth's path (you get quite a bit of XP during the seige of Vergen that you don't get with Roche), on Roche's path you might want to farm Rotfiends when you first enter the area (not sure if you can still do this with the new patch).

I would avoid drowners (if you're playing on insanity), if you haven't maxed out position they can one shot you with a flanking attack and they can leap further than Geralt with maxed footwork.  They also don't make much noise. I remember one loss, I thought I killed all of them in the swamp with the bandit hideout and I let my quen drop so I could regen my stamina, next thing I know one leaps at me from behind, gets a double hit and it's game over.

I've always wanted to try this game but my PC's have never been good enough to handle games. I'm excited that it's coming out for 360 though. Do you Witcher fans think it'll transfer well to 360, and more importantly, play well?

Not sure why did you put the preparing for combat segmet? But yeah I see it clearly. Still not much of an issue in my eyes ( then I again I am the person who LOVES to get one hit then roll back to not get hit ).

I want to get more than one hit in at least before I target another enemy. I hate rolling around too much.
