They have, even on hard I didn't remeber enemies parrying that much, but Arena and dark mode it's like

It's free because charging 2.0 would be a huge rip off. This is not story dlc, so of course it's gonig to be free. Get back to me when CDP decideds to do an expansion and charge $20+

Hell get back to me when CDP even does a 2 hour plus story dlc, they have not, Bioware has with Legacy and MoA, I will agree with the item packs but that's a diffrent can of worms.

The only thing truly new in 2.0 is arena, Dark is just a tweaked insane mode with new loot that is just retextures and other minor things. Even then, Arena is just you killing creatures from the game, hardly somethingt hat peopel would buy and not complain about. When CDP starts doing real stuff, then we wil see if they still decide to be nice or charge for tehre hardwork.

arena can be compared to the pinnacle station dlc bioware released for ME1. Pinnacle station, we had to pay for for, while the arena is everything pinnacle station should have been

Don't know how accurate this is, but someone posted this on another forum:

Michal Kicinski (founder of CD Projekt) and his brother Adam (CDP Red CEO) were interviewed by Polish gaming blog Polygamia.pl. Some interesting news:

1. Modding tools won't be released this year.

2. TW2 support will be long. After v. 2.0 we can expect another patches and enhancements.

3. At the moment there are no plans for fat expansion with new locations, characters and story line.

4. TW3 won't be released until 2014. The Reds will decide about the future of TW3 in 2012.

5. Whole next year will be devoted to TW2.

6. There's a chance for PS3 port (nothing is planned though).

7. There will be Collector's Edition of Xbox version.

8. There are no plans for new brand. Setting won't be changed.

9. There's a slightly chance for remake of TW1 on Red Engine, but not so fast (read: 6 years at least)

10. CDP Red quarterly report (and also TW2 sales results) will be published on Monday.

11. Some companies are interested in buying Red Engine license.

12. CDPR has no plans for games on mobile platforms - only AAA games.

13. Important things like additions and future plans will be announced on CDP's conferences (online streaming FTW).

14. Watch online CD Projekt / GOG.com Autumn Conference on September 22nd.

I'd love for CDPR to make a remake of the original Witcher using the RED engine! That would be completely awesome, as the plot in the Witcher is one of the best in video gaming history!

Imagine the original Witcher with updated graphics and the awesome combat of the Witcher 2 :D

Would love Witcher 1 to be remade on the Red Engine just so I can actually play the game again. I don't play it at all now because it just suffers so bad from performance problems or its me idk. But once I hit Vizima the game really slows down which is odd considering I can get a much better framerate in Witcher 2.

Can you provide the link the were you saw this?

The items in the item packs are all new items. The armour and weapons in Legacy where all new except for the GW robes. Try again.

There has been two story dlcs for DA2, another one comingo ut soon. As I said I agree the item packs should be free but Bioware at least has made story dlc, CDP has not, just patchs and a massive patch(which is good mind you) but Bioware could never do a patch like that because of the 360/PS3 versions and a limit on patch sizes. CDP is able to do this stuff right now because TW2 is a PC only game with the 360 version not out yet. CDP is a good company but sorry they don't get my praise for releasing free stuff when A: it should have already been in the game and B:It's horrible.

ANd Slim, no I'm not joking, it's called having an opinion and not thinking CDP is this fantastic dev where Bioware is teh evil monster that wants to feed you to nekkers.

So DA2's exiled prince should have been in the game too? Considering it was a day 1 release I don't take kindly to being charged £8 for it.

As to expansions CDPR have already said any DLC on PC will be free, other than large expansions. Whilst the xbox versions will be charged due to Microsofts terms of Service in distributiong the product.

So let me get this straight House.... CDPR shouldnt be praised for doing the right thing (ie. NOT ripping off its customers when its common practice to do so)?

If your not joking, you must be nuts. No offense.

And BTW, CDPR HAS released free "story" dlc before, ever heard of The Price of Neutrality and/or Side Effects?

And let's not forget all the things they included in the standard edition, let alone the CE and their efforts to replace broken busts + medallions(really wish I had this lol).

But overall I'm not really into story DLCs because they're generally rather low-budget-ish unless they're a few hours long, but even then they have a "limited" feel to them. I'd take an expansion pack over 10 story-dlcs any day.

No offense to Legacy and people who liked it 'cos I'm one of them myself(EDIT: In regards to the lore at least. Ty billy!:P), but it had parts one could clearly tell was just there to drag out the DLC.
Still, I would like to see some story-based dlc (substantially) on par with Price of Neutrality integrated into the TW2 campaign and not seperated from it.

I really hope the no-expansion plan isn't true, but I can (sadly) understand it if it is.

:D

I should probably edit that part heh. I've always been a lore-nerd, if it helps! Wasn't really into the other stuff. Step in the right direction though, even if that step is a bit smaller than expected.

Arena mode is pretty tough, I played for a bit and got what I thought was a decent score, not even remotely close to top...

Signs through keybinds is still buggy :|

The free content they've released is stuff any other company would charge for. Arena would $10-$15 easy if Bioware had done it. And it's not horrible, I don't know where you get that from. They had to create a new area, put in new dialog, hire voice actors again, rebalance combat, invent a new creature - all of this takes time and effort. It's far from just a reskin on new equipment.

What should have been in the game were basic PC features like hardware mouse, grid inventory, and more overall polish, I'll give you that. But there's no lack of content when you need to play it like four times just to see everything.

CDPR sucks!  They sold the game on release day for about $15 less than your average new pc release.  Or you could say $25-30 less with the content included with it, comparing that to some "other" collector editions *cough cough*.  Excuse me.

Anyway, those money grubbing scoundrels have the audacity to release all of their DLC for free.  What makes them so special, huh?  Even still, it's just a ruse.  It's really not real DLC.  I mean come on, I'm not going to download it.  I'm gonna send them a nasty email instead.  What do they have here for DLC, huh?  Arena mode, dark mode, some armor and equipment, corrected some mechanics problems, put in a nice tutorial, fixed about 140+ bugs and game play enhancements.  Pffft, please...

And to add insult to injury, it looks like they're going to support the game with patches, upgrades, and DLC for another freaking year.  What kinda bs is this? I want a refund!  Everyone knows that real support ends 3-6 months max after the game is released, or at least almost everyone knows.  I mean, they do have to do it that way to make a profit, don't they?  If not they'll lose money.  It's a business.

I'm done with CDPR.  I'm gonna pick up a copy of DA2 this week and buy some real DLC.  EAoware knows how to fleece and milk their customers the right way, damnit!  This thread makes me sick.

Bioware had made a similar type of dlc...although it was vey bad and had environments already in the game.

Well I bought it from GOG at release for £29.99p, which is how much most PC games are brand new?? Then I had my loyalty rewarded by seeing the games price slashed (by over %50 in some cases) by other online games distributors a short time after release. I'm not bitter about it though, this is just business and gaming for you, but getting into a price war to validate the game isn't relevent here.

Well this is fair enough and worthy of praise, but lets be honest here? And like someone has already said on this page, there is no way they could have justified charging for any of the DLC they have implemented so far, well not in my opinion anyway.

Remember! Highlighting how bad another game or developer is does not make your opinion anymore valid, it's a bit like putting your face next to a Baboons arse and saying "Hey look how handsome I am", simply because your face is more aesthetically pleasing than the Baboons Backside.
