CDProjekt apparently just announced the release-date for the Xbox360-version of the game to be April 17.

The new version will include:
- 4 more hours of gameplay, especially in Act 3
- new locations and characters
- 33 minutes of new cinematics (aside from the new CGI Intro)
- improved animations
- a new "intelligent camera" system
- a new target locking system and a improved character panel
- other stuff

Obviously it'll all come for free for the PC version along with the "Patch 3.0" version of the game.

Anyone wanna bet what BiowareEA would have asked for all this "potential DLC" if this was their game?

Letho was a great antagonist... rare for a developer that makes an antagonist really feel dangerous, homicidal and menacing... Was conveyed well in Witcher 2 and also in this new trailer.

Would anymore here recommend to get The Witcher 2 on the 360?
And before anyone says no I can't get the PC version.

If can't get PC version then hell yes get the 360 (Dark edition). I am and I already own the PC one too.

Just waiting till their update their list of retailers who will stock it in the UK and which will give what pre-order bonuses then pre-order will be placed right away.

Well it's just my game of the year 2011, possibly better than everything I've played in 2010 too... so... no?

It will be interesting to see side by side comparisons of the 360 and PC version. I'm sure CD Projekt is doing a great job optimizing for the 360. (At the risk of sounding elitist I only recommend the PC version if you can run on ultra settings). :D

It's weird the website doesn't have UK retailers. Anyway upon reading the amount of praise this game got I have to give it a try. Just wish a UK retailer would list it so I know how much to save up.

I read that the 360 version will be comparable to medium settings. No idea what that is though.

From what we saw during the presentation the game looks still awesome on the X-Box, just not AS awesome as the PC version. The image looks a little "flat", like all console games, and you dont have that feel of "depth" in the scenery as the PC version has.
The lighting effects are not as impressive as in the PC, either.

The price they listed on video was around £45 for enhanced edition and £60 for dark edition though this will vary between sellers obviously, they said on forums that they still building/compiling a list or places to buy from so to check back later.

Yea but it's definitely one of the best looking console games and not just because of the amazing graphics but also the color and variety.

That trailer was magnificent. The trailers for The Witcher 2 are some of the best for any game I can recall- they all do such a great job with the music especially. That trailer conveys so much without even having a single word spoken. And that attack is just brutal. Damn.

Letho is such a badass.

Gameplay changes and more about x360 version
http://www.gamespot....review-6349228/

oh.... oh..... OH OH **** I JUST GOT A BONER D:

Hehe, in all seriousness, i don't i've ever been this Excited for an Update.

i was off to Play TW2 again, but instead i'm gonna Play TW1 again with Different Choices! :D
oh, and speaking about TW1.
I'm Sure most of you won't care about, but i need to speak up.
I completed TW1 for the second time just yesterday.
....wow, i'm impressed.

i completed TW1 for the first time all the way back to 2008, with the EE.

at first, i thought the game was good, but not great, and i didn't played it again.

Years after that, and after Loving TW2 so much, i decided to Give TW1 another chance.

And i'm glad i did, cause it has opened my eyes to what this game is.

When i first played it, i was in such a rush to complete it's story(that's what i always do in RPGs, complete the story first and if i enjoy the game enough i will do everything else), that i blinded myself from what this game really wants you to experience: It's world.

TW1 isn't so much about it's story(which, btw, i still think it's excellent), it's about putting in the shoes of someone who finds himself in the middle of a mature, gritty fantasy world where political battles and constant tragedies occur(i'm obviously talking about Geralt), while you, as the player, watch as he goes, not to save the world, or dominate, just to see how he manages to survive and do his job.

And, i think This game has a much more deeper Role Playing ability than many people like to admit.

Yes, the character is set, but so what? Nameless One is set and PS:T is one of the best RPGs ever.

Yes He talks by his own here and there, but he is himself, and it usually only happens after you've chosen the general lines of what you want to say in the conversation.

IMO, the game allows for a lot of ways to mold Geralt into not just Geralt, But MY Geralt(that couldn't have sounded more gay if a tried), and i like that(since i'm a fan of Set Characters, as well as blank slates).

That conversation in Chapter III on whether or not he wanted a family, i thought it was interesting.
Does he want a family but knows he can never do it, does he not care, or does he really want to lay down and rest after all this time?
What does he find most satisfactory?
Killing a Monster.... or Lifting a curse?
Does he want to release he's Non-human and help the scoia'tael, or does he want to do what he always does, helping humans, thus helping the order, or does he do what he is Supposed to do, Remain Neutral as much as he can?

And, i think Geralt is more simpathetic and Carismatic than many people are willing to give him credit for(i already thought that in TW2, but now even more).

Like i said, whether or not he wanted family was interesting and appeling to me, since it showed that he may or may not feel emotions, and the sub plots with Shani and Triss, with his internal conflict on whether or not he loved either....
i think it just makes him human than what Witchers are supposed to be, and i like that.

But the Jewel to crown would be the atmosphere.
I Had already noticed it all the first time i played, but like i said, giving that i was in such a rush to beat the story, i couldn't enjoy as i should've had.

Now that i entered the game with the intention of taking my time and completing everything i could find, i could immerse myself into it's lore, and everything was so much better since.

The fascinating world opened to me like a book(with little drawings!) ever since, and even Though TW2 already gave me alot of information about it, i came to understand that TW1 was very much designed to introduce you to it, while TW2 was mainly designed for people who were already familiar with it(this will improve my next W2 playthrough, i'm sure of it), and that's the thing that made me enjoy TW2 more right off the bat.

TW1 and 2 have different approaches.

TW2 is alot more tight and cinematic Experience, more linear(which isn't bad), While TW1 is more free, expecting you to enjoy it's freedom of choice rather than it's story.

(I Personally prefer the story approach, which is why i still prefer TW2, but i don't love TW1 any less)

I WIsh i had realized that sooner, i could've Enjoyed TW1 so much more WAY before this.
Bah! so much time lost!
But better late than never! and i'm glad i could open my eyes to see what TW1 was really about, Wonderful game!!!

(thinking back, i should do this with more games that i didn't really like that much at first, maybe i wasn't looking at them the right way.... heh, where are you DX:HR?)

also, just for the lulz, i want to post this image i found in DeviantArt,i thought it was funny:

(i could actually see this happening, lol)

The trailer ranks up there with the CGI one for Arkham City. Very cool stuff. The mage just blows that guy to bits.

Watching the Trailer more carefully...
i'm not sure i buy it..

i mean, where did Letho came from? hidden under in the basement(or however it's called) from the boat, or did he came from a separate boat?

Either, seriously, did NO ONE saw this massive, ****ing, Hairless Gorilla coming from a different boat or sneaking up into the big boat?
**** off, seriously.

yeah, that's just nit picking, but it annoyed me a bit(Letho is still bad ass though)

Thats the awesome thing with the violence in that trailer- its absolutely brutal. Just the frozen guys breaking apart is kind of freaky. Then how Letho has to actually slash twice to get Demavend's head off?

Its probably less "bloody" than something like DAO or DA2 but the look of the combat in the trailer (and TW2) has so much detail and weight that seeing stuff like the mage getting slashed in the face or the one body guard blown up makes me cringe cause its not comical but sort of horrifying in a "Oh ****!" sort of way.

He swam and climbed up the side - he's blowing sea water out his nose. Not entirely far fetched for a Witcher.

Edit - they cut out the potion drinking cut scene. Thank you CDPR, you guys do listen.

I thought it was obvious that he swam. Probably took a potion to be able to hold his breath for a longer time.

And now that you mention it Slimgrin, yea they did remove the potion. Did people complain about it?

Yes, I did. The cut scene served no function imo. Who wants to sit through Geralt meditating every single time?
