Knight, if you ever give me diplomatic BS I'll slap you.

I really do hope CDPR makes a good trailer though. Sure these new ones are nice, but not due to the trailers themselves but by the cinematics taken from the game and put into them and the quotes, as trailers they aren't special really.

I want something with as epic music as the ME2 launch trailer had. Granted the launch trailers for TW2 has some good music but Xbox should get the same.

What do you think I've been doing for all these years? :P

EDIT: the gamescom trailer was awesome.
And the CGI Letho trailer was a million times better than the ME3 one (boring as hell). I am sure they will make one or two.

Right

True the gamescon was very good.

I don't count the CGI trailer, since it's not a trailer it's the goddamn game intro!

It's both in my eyes. A lot of games use the intro as a trailer. Besides, an intro is supposed to get you hyped up to play a game, so it serves the same purpose as a trailer.

It's an awesome piece of work, 'tis true. I am kinda sad that it seems we won't get a CGI trailer of Nilfgaard's army crossing the Yaruga, not that making that scene in-game is bad but CGI could have given it a much larger scale.

I have some trouble calling Conan "mature."  I haven't read the books, mind you, but the image of a muscle-bound guy in a thong just doesn't say mature to me.  I guess it's because I look for historical realism.

As far as I remember he usually wore trousers both in the first movie and the tales (and mail when he could). The loincloth stereotype is probably from the Marvel comics.

Agreed. Maybe we still could though. Maybe that nilfgaardian cavalry bit was part of a new sidequest or something. Probably not, but one could still hope.

And with CDPR hope is never a delusion. I know I am kinda kidding myself in regards to ME3 and that I hold a foolish hope, but CDPR games? Oh I know they will be awesome. Admiteddly I had some doubts when it came to TW2 pre-launch, but those went down the ****ing drain the moment I stepped outside that tent the first time and my jaw hit the floor.

When I think of these videos though ( gamescon trailer, CGI intro ) It makes me respect CDPR a hell lot more then I did already. I do strongly believe they expected most people to hate Letho, but when it turned out people found him the most goddamn awesome character in the game CDPR showed the fan a great deal of respect with these new trailers and especially that intro.

Unlike another company that owns these forums and their treatment of Loghain.

I wonder whether depending on TW2 choices, the North will or will not be completely ****ed in TW3.

I also hope TW3 will have Geralt meet Queen Meve. That's the only major North monarch we haven't met yet. I'm thinking the game won't be set in actual Nilfgaard, but will possibly concentrate on fighting off the invasion; Emhyr will probably voyage north with his armies and bring Yennefer along.

I'm also greatly anticipating CDPR's unannounced original IP. Now that EA has fully assimilated BioWare, CDPR is pretty much the remaining developer of AAA story-driven RPGs.

And Frank Frazetta artwork.

Also note that Marvel invented Red Sonja, who was completely different in Howard's book.

Why would Geralt give a damn about the north though? Sure he might have friends there, but I doubt he would get involved as a soldier unless he had a good reason besides: "Oh I must protect the north"

As long as the plot won't feature some invasion from the Wild Hunt. That would be so... BioWarian.

Not that Obsidian hasn't produced flawed games, but they're on my AAA list as well.

The nilfgardian cavalary is a part of new quests I presume. And I find it refreshing, I dont remember the last time I saw some good fantasy action with horses/cavalary or some battling in units. All we get is a joke of a fight where EVERYONE rushes forward with NO FORMATION whatsoever!

I long for this... mostly because in the last witcher book there is an EPIC battle scene that 'drags' across some pages. When I read it, every time, I shake I sweat and have tears in my eyes. You wouldnt ****ing belive me what a masterpiece it is. You have to read it for yourself. Its like watching private Ryan's landing in Normady. And the dwarven detachement, my god! Their portion of battle makes you... just... just... chest inflate... and be proud of the little buggers

And yes, the dwarves swear a lot in the books. Its reminiscent of lower working class - and maybe only in poland? Coz yes, they swear a lot, and theres nothing to do about it, certain circles (in general mind you - I'm generalising for a porpouse) just do.

The Wild Hunt isn't evil or the type to want to eliminate all organic life or some other BS so I wouldn't mind it. What I would ****ing despise is if the game revolved around uniting the land to combat them. That's just BS.

I actually like the Conan tales by Howard. No, they aren't mature or particularly sophisticated, but he could tell an entertaining yarn and Conan was a refreshing break from high fantasy.

I take that as a challenge then. Time to throw my ass back into the arena.
