Tech support question. I have not been able to install mods since we got a Win 7 PC. It tells me I need to give permission as administrator in order to move the mod file into Cooked PC. I've tried right clicking on the launcher to run as administrator, but this doesn't work. What's the file I have to set to run as administrator in order to change the Cooked PC folder? Don't tell me I have to re-install the game.

Go to the The Witcher site and ask this question. Some tech savvy folks there. I'm sorry if you've been playing without Panel Tweaks mod, which is a must. I'm on Win 7 and all I've ever had to do is drag and drop into the appropriate folder, most commonly cooked PC or a sub folder. Re-installing isn't a big deal as long as you keep your save files and patch the game correctly - actually, this part has given some people fits. Patch 2.1 has caused problems. The safe bet is patching only to 2.0.

What I really wanted is the one that opens up all development paths. I've been saving level points because I'm so mad I have to spend them on things I never use, like dagger throwing.

Eww I suggest getting

Parrying 2/2   Unlocks parrying and Damage reduction while parrying 50%
Hardiness 2/2 Vitality +60
Fortitude 2/2  Vigor regen+ 10 and Vigor +1

Yea its annoying to spend the 6 points in Combat Training but really those 6 are really useful but here is a mod to remove the prerequisite not sure if it works with the 2.0 W2 though since I never used it.

You don't have to spend anything on arrow redirect or daggers. Do just as Ringo says, and then things open up from there. The six points go pretty fast and then its on to upgrading Aard, Axii, acquiring Riposte ( one of the most useful and fun skills imo)

Dagger throwing is a win-button in one-on-one fights, actually, and daggers are also ridiculously cheap to craft.

You can spam them endlessly (same with bombs), but maybe this has been fixed in the last patch.

Ok thanks for the advice.

I've avoided daggers, bombs and traps because it's so awkward to set them up, put them in your pockets, yadda yadda. Since Geralt can take damage while you're fooling with all that, I've just kept it simple with his sword moves and a few signs.

You've avoided bombs! They are so fun though! Zerrikanian Sun is really cheap and fast to make and so useful since it provides a valuable aoe stun.

There are people who have beaten the end boss by just spamming bombs on the stairwell. Any specialist build, be it swordsmanship, signs or alchemy can be overpowered.

You're making combat much less interesting though by avoiding all the toys. We have the slowdown function when aiming bombs and daggers which almost works like the tactical pause in mass effect. Traps can be a pain to use, but bombs and daggers are easy and help out tremendously. Red haze + dancing star, Grape shot, the blinding effects of Zerkainian sun. Fun times.

When I first heard it, I thought Letho would have Mike Tyson syndrome, big scary looking guy with a silly voice. But now that I've heard it isolated, I really like it. F**K! April's so far away.

I really preferred his original voice actor for Letho also Iorveth and Zoltan.

Far from it.

And I prefer the in-game voice of Iorveth and Letho over the trailer voices by far.

Did they switch them for any particular reason. I hope they kept Zoltan's accent at least.

I think I like the game VAs better as well.

It's funny that Henselt's camp is full of drunk Irishmen.    Oh also, it's amusing that a few times when I've started conversations in the camp, somehow Geralt's position shifts and he ends up standing in the campfire and on fire when the conversation ends.  lol

So do people think Iorveth really had a thing for Saskia?

Maybe Letho became that big as a consequence of the Trial of the Grasses, while Geralt became a woman magnet. Well and the white hair thingie.

Ha ha, good on you.  So who was it that decided to have Geralt blackmail a dwarf for staying sober?  That was brilliant.

Lesbomancy was floating around sites a few short days after the game released. It took iron will on my part not to youtube the scene before I experienced it first hand...in the game I mean. :P

I wanna know who came up with the 'hoof on shoulder' shot. God that cracked me up.
