How long is The Witcher 2? Or more accurately, how long will it be with its expanded Act III? Also are there any DLC plans post-release or is what we get it?

About 30-40 hours, however you won't get a full impression of the game from one playthrough. It has an entirely different course if you make different decisions and hence replayability is high.

@ blothulfur:  Eh, okay. Nothing concrete supports the theory, though.

So you think Henselt and Philippa planned it together?  I guess I'm still confused.

Philippa is also a logical candidate as well, Saskia's condition is entirely monitored by the sorceress and in truth we don't know how ill she was. She may have just been sleeping a deep reptilian sleep of regeneration and Philippa's healing was entirely un-needed. Having Geralt and Iorveth kept busy on the lookout for components, is a damn good way to keep the two most compotent individuals in Vergen distracted.

Indeed.

I too lean towards the theory that it was Philippa who poisoned Saskia and that she knew all along that she was a dragon. And the antidote was complicated enough to keep Iorveth and Geralt if present, busy.
However it was a more or less big gambit on her part if she indeed was behind it, as Vergen nearly slid to civil war with Saskia's absence.

@Addai: No I think it's Henselt personally but Philippa's a logical deduction, the game leaves it ambiguous with the exception that Stennis definitely didn't do it due to the evidence of the cup and the priest. I like this quest, it basically reinforces your personality and your own take on matters (even if you let the innocent prince be slaughtered, it seems justified).

Its very subjective.

My impression of Henselt is that he's not the type to poison a worthy adversary, he has too much martial pride and dare I say honor (in a military sense) in that regard.

It is also possible that it was done by members of the Aedirnian nobility and clergy on their own accord. Some nobles welcomed Henselt's invasion as they would rather have that than a peasant rebellion.

I see Henselt as once being like that when he used to stand among the common soldiery and inspire his men at the fighting pit, but he has begun to change with age and take more expedient routes. Otherwise he'd not tolerate Dethmolds methods and company.

The nobility and clergy are damned feasible too.

The only codex I remember seeing didn't make it sound very subjective- it put it at Stennis' feet, though I hadn't remembered that he was actually cleared of being directly involved.

In order to ensorcel Saskia, Philippa would need a rose of remembrance. The only one within reach was Triss'. That's leaving a LOT of things up to chance, as well as exposing herself to risk that she'd be found out and risking loss of the battle of Aedirn to Henselt which gains Philippa exactly nothing.

The codex is Dandellions impressions, it changes and supports whoever you pick to take the blame. Like with who you pick as Javeds contact in the temple quarter, Rammsmeat, Kalkstein etcetera, in the first game.

A rose of remembrance is just a component, if unavailable a knowledgeable sorceress would just use another component.

So is there a scenario where Geralt accuses Philippa of planning the poisoning?

It's all possible- it just doesn't seem very plausible to me.

It focuses mainly on Stennis, if you give him to the crowd Dandellions states that the Prince was innocent even though he knew of the plot. If you save him, the bard states that the Prince was guilty of aiding in the poisoning and should have hanged.

Philippa is mentioned in some form of asscoiation with the poisoning but i'm damned if I can remember where, it might be at Loc Muinne. My theory on Henselt's mentioned nowhere at all.

By that time, Philippa had Triss' statuette. It is feasible that she had the rose of remembrance before she poisoned Saskia.
But I forgot about the whole antidote quest thing to be honest.

I agree, Henselt always seemed too much of a blunt instrument to poison Saskia. He's not stupid by any stretch of the imagination, but his approach to the situations present seems to be more forceful. A display of naked martial aggression to intimidate the opposition, even if he does have the military muscle to back up the threats.

Dethmold on the other hand, I can see him coming up with such a solution.

Wait wait... the Nilfgaardians had Triss' statuette.  When did Philippa enter into that?

I'm getting more confused.

The Nilfgaardians took it from Philippa, that was Cynthia's mission (at least partially).

You can even see the statuette in her home, before Cynthia runs away.

It's like noticing the change of decor in the detective's house at a certain point in TWi. I totally missed it in my first two runs.

That was a nice touch, but Geralt's medaillon suddenly acting up made it really obvious to me what was going on.

"There's a huge amount of players who are looking for an experience like that, and I would think it's going to be OK with them. They are watching movies with all the violence and reading books with violence, so why make games differently? Sure we've got the cinematics and there are two different types of sex you can have in the game. There are ****s which are an integral part of the reality in this world but on the other hand, there are relationships with women like Triss or Vess and that's a totally different case."

Footage of the New Content.

They also talk about why they think TW2 should not be compared to Skyrim and why it should get your attention, if anyone's interested.

Some spooning with Triss. :P

Also, I gotta say the color palette on 360 seems quite limited. But the new charcters and locations look pretty cool. And Brigida..meeeooow!
