I actually prefer the more matte look they had then. Something about TW2's look is off to me- the lighting is too garish or something. But I do notice how much the voice acting improved from 1 to 2.

Turning off bloom helps, but yeah, at times the colors are too saturated. That said, underground environs and the palette of Loc Muine are about perfect imo.

This is sort of off topic for a TW2 thread but I was wondering if there were any mods people liked for TW1. I didn't use any last time around.
Combat Rebalance Mod. I love Witcher 1 but it's a joke if your looking for a challenge I think it was added into the final Witcher 1 patch though.
I really can't think of anything else but there if you want some user created content I definitely recommend Medical problems

Dark Geralt Mod - Dark Theme for Geralt: His armors, his swords. His eyes and scars are also improved.
Texturen Mod - Sharpens a lot of in-game textures.
HI-Res Character Models - Pretty much what the title states.

Can I just say that mage spec should be considered cheating?
-Cast quen lvl 3
-Negate EVERYTHING
Admittedly I had to download a god mode mod for the eternal battle part. I spent 2 hours on one encounter where you had to play as Seltkirk. That part CAN NOT be beaten as a mage spec on Dark Mode. If you say otherwise, you're either wrong or got INCREDIBLY lucky in that encounter

That's how you beat that part as the Adernian Soldier? Before the part where you avoid arrows and such.

In which act is it best to do the Medical Problems mod?slimgrin wrote...
Medical problems is the best adventure mod available by far. It's created by Corylea, a devoted fan of TW1. The recent Combat re-balance mod by Flash ( who now works for CDPR) will offer the greatest challenge for TW1 and I think offers the most comprehensive changes overall. Child's play compared to TW2 though.

It's separate from the main game. Check out Nexus, it may have both parts. If not, look at the RED site for it.

"As you might remember from their last Investor's Day, CDPR is going to release 3 titles in 2012. 1 of them is Witcher 2 on Xbox of course and other 2 are supposed to be smaller titles, with sales up to 100 000 copies, on one platform, distributed through digital platforms (Witcher 2 expansions come to mind first)
Speaking to parkiet.com, Polish economic site, CDPR's CEO Adam Kiciński confirmed that the details about this release are going to be announced today or tomorrow (monday 26th or tuesday 27th of March).
On tuesday 27th of March we can also expect a big announcement from GOG.COM, CDPR's sister company."

Picked up stuff I missed last time that I dont know how I did.. with Geralts actions pushing the La Valettes to either Nilfgaard or Redania etc. Watched a bit of Iorveth's path though, seems more personal whereas Roches path is less so but more concerning the world and political events.
Trying to decide who is a better bro out of Roche and Siegfried
