Roche.. The closest thing to Garrus in any other game. Definitely the Titus Pullo to your Lucius Vorenus (cookie for reference)

Rome.

Before ME3, I thought Roche was the best bromance in any game. But ME3 made Garrus assume that title, though to be fair, Garrus had 3 games to back him up.

Hmm.. Just been thinking, what happens to Aedirn if you pick Roches path? Since Stennis dies, does he have siblings that will assume the throne or does it mean civil war for Aedirn when he dies?

And yeah Roche is pretty awesome, given another witcher game he could totally be better than Garrus (Although I think he already is =D) If only you could invite him to parties and have him fight the antagonist by your side like you could Siegfried though

Decided to help Roche get Foltests daughter from Henselts compound for Radovid this playthrough, wish I would have known about how much better a path it was in my first playthrough. With Roche putting on the red uniform and going to work for Radovid and all.. And Radovid getting himself some Temaria. Convinced me to spare Letho this time since he saved Triss anyway

I don't think Roche and Garrus are in the same category. Garrus has your back no matter what. ****** Roche off and he'll cut your balls off and make you eat them. Not exactly bromance material there.

I preferred the bromance with Siegfried in W1 and 2.

Oh that's not really true.  He's pissed off if you help Iorveth, but when Geralt says "you keep saving my ass" he answers "that's not even funny anymore."  They're still bros.

Oh and we're re-watching HBO's Rome... such a good show.  *sniff*

*brofist*

CDProjekt can do a Dune rpg justice.

Well if that happens my body and soul stands ready. And i hope they stick to books more this time. Since Star Wrs an Mass Effect universes started to shatter, i'll happily embrace this old friend.

For Shai-Hulud!

Ehem on topic, EE can't come soon enough^_^

It is heavily implied that Aedirn succumbs to Kaedwen's influence, at least if Henselt is still alive.

So I guess the announcement today was about GOG.com offering new indie titles instead of about the new franchise?

Well if that's true the Gog conference is in what 2 weeks? CDPR has used the conference to announce and show off Witcher 2.

Does anyone know if Best Buy is doing any midnight releases? I'll end up calling them before the game comes out but not if they're indefinitely not doing any.

I didn't want to order from Gamestop because they claimed there was no Dark Edition, they were just completely oblivious to it. This was a while ago when it was available, but nowhere near selling out.

Anyway, I'm pretty excited for this. I'll probably end up getting it on PC after.

I was dreaming all day of an announcement along the lines of a sci-fi RPG...dammit.

Don't know, but I do know that Toy's R' Us[/quote] has the EE for 49 instead of 59. Any other sellers offering bonuses for pre-orders?

Roche, I'd say, is far better as a bromance simply for the fact that he isn't written completely as one. Garrus in ME2 and ME3 is all about the good ol' times and how great friends they are, which gets kind of tiresome quite quickly when there's little else going on with the character (Loyalty mission in ME2 wasn't bad, ME3 however...).

Least with Roche, any bromance you develop with the character is mostly because of how well written he is. He'll ****** you off, you ****** him off and you go through **** together all the way into Act 3. They're not really relying on the sense of familiarity with him and any feelings for the character is developed through the experiences you both share throughout the game.

I was disappointed to hear you didn't get a mission to the Turian homeworld in ME3. Ma and Pa Vakarian were called for. Ah well, saving the galaxy and big lasers and all that.

Even Dethmold sounds a little envious of the dynamic duo.

Very well said.

Imo, what Garrus had was just more exposure and not necessarily quality (though moments like a shooting contest in ME3 were great). If Roche does show up in TW3 (unlikely) or an expansion, then he might be the more memorable bromance to me.

But if we are to compare Roche with Garrus in just one of any of the 3 Mass effects, Roche is the better bromance easily.

And I think Roche is more of a badass.

@ Addai
That quest is one of my favorites ever. Geralt and Roche, storming the Kaedweni camp with the Wild Hunt soundtrack beating in the bg. Epic.

BTW out of curiosity, what did you choose to do with Anais?

I gave her to Radovid. If he does what he says, I think they could make a good pair. Poor little poppet though, with her dolly and everything. :crying:  I hope she doesn't end up being a psychopath.

I did too. The part where she is led off to her fate is rather touching imo. She's just a pawn and you really feel it in that scene.

***SPOILER***

As for Roche, one of my favorite conflicts in the game is when you and him are confronting Henselt, and the king says Vess squeaked like an un-oiled hinge. Pissed me off. But you can tell Roche to back down, which was the more gratifying choice given the brief exchange between Geralt and Roche afterwards.

He likely won't, let's face it. And if he does, he's going to make sure she is his puppet.
Unless he marries her, in which case they could become a good pair.

Which is good in my books.

Finally finished my second run through the game this past weekend, getting around to Iorveth's path. I kind of liked it more than Roche in some ways- Phillipa was an interesting character and having Saskia and Zoltan and Dandelion around was fun. And of course having the knowledge about who Saskia really is.

But it really emphasizes how important it is to play the game twice to get the full story. Its simultaneously very cool but at times a bit underwhelming too in retrospect. Like with Iorveth's path when you end up meeting people like Dethmold or Henselt its kind of weird because as characters you really don't know who they are in any meaningful way. Same way if you go Roche's path and meet Saskia or Phillipa, its kind of like "Oh, ok I don't know who you are."

I find that more realistic, though. Geralt should have limited information and it shows that sometimes things just happen, he's not an omnipotent omniscient being. The biggest shock for me was that the attack on non-humans in Flotsam didn't happen on Roche's path. Help Iorveth and doom the elves and dwarves of Flotsam- yikes.

@ KoP- That's what I meant, they would be a good pair if they marry.  If he wants to hold Temeria he had better do what he says.  Then again, when the empire and the Wild Hunt show up, all bets are off anyway.

My friend is currently playing TW1, he keeps mentioning that he's expecting some huge reveal from Alvin and I keep smirking. Reminded me how much I enjoyed that they didn't do a "reveal" with Alvin, makes the whole speculating and final scene much stronger.
