I finished one and need to write the conclusion to the other. After that just need to study for one final, then I can spend all day killing monsters as a white-haired fully scarred emotionally distant mutant. *SIGH* Still like 18 hours from now.

I have a quick question - does the enhanced edition patch for the PC include the Troll Trouble DLC and alternate hairstyle DLC? I recently purchased a new HDD (I sorta had to considering my old HDD fried on me, taking my TW2 saves with it =/) and am still unsure if the two DLC's I mentioned above need to be DL'ed separately.

Just get my hands on the enhanced edition. CDprojekt did really nice job in enhanced endings. Put ME3 into shame!

Are there real consequences to choices? I remember the last time I heard that, I got railroaded as a customer.

Furthermore, could somebody answer the following questions:

-How many hours of gameplay, roughly, for the thorough, take your time, listen to everything / read everything / loot everything / explore everything player?

-Is the writing solid?

-How is the UI?

-How is the difficulty?

-Is combat skill based on player skill or statistics?

-Do you travel to different places?


Thank you in advance for any insight. Heard a lot of good stuff about this game. Glad PC gamers are getting Dark Souls.

-30 to 35 hrs of play if you take your time and do everything, but it needs to be played at least twice and that's not an exaggeration.

-writing is about as solid as it gets imo. Smart and raunchy dialog at turns, layered plot, subtle humor.

-UI is average on PC and from what I've read, on xbox it seems to be adequate but not great.

-anything above easy and this game is harder than most RPG's I've played.

-combat is both twitch and stat based. You ignore one or the other and you pay for it. Quen ( shield spell) comes close to a win button in early versions of the game, but not entirely. It's been nerfed in the EE.

- you travel to three main locations. There's good variety here cause you have some dungeon crawls, ruins, different forest types.

Let me help you!

1. Download part 1 & 2 from this site: en.thewitcher.com/ee_manual/

2. Overwrite the pre-downloaded part 1 & 2 data wherever you put it with the downloader.

3. Click the patch.exe.

It should work now. At least for me it worked.

Got a few questions about the EE download, if someone can help so I know what to do / what to avoid when I get home from work:

- is there "download" option on the launcher (wasn't there this morning before i left for work)
- any way to see which patch is active (on the starting screen or something?)
- if re-downloading is necessary, does it check and scan already downloaded files and fix,or do you need to re-download everything?
- does downloading the content into a custom folder cause any issues?

There should be a link at the bottom of the launcher, yes.

The game launcher will say "Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition" when you start it up if it has installed EE

Still planning on doing an 8th playthrough but i was impatient and loaded up a couple of saves just to see what they changed. They actually showed the consequences of your big decisions and that poor bugger on the bridge rofl.

Just recieved my copy of Witcher 2 Dark Edition.

Bloody hell, this thing is huge! 60 quid and is filled with content, the art book is 10 times the size of Mass Effect 3 artbook and the Mass Effect 3 limited edition was 80 quid!

I just got dominated on the tutorial. Easy recommended

Killed one opponent and failed miserably when i was cornered by a soldier in armour and some dude with two swords.

Got a new video card on order.  Compared to mine it is about 7 -10 steps above so that should help.  I'll continue plugging through the first one in the mean time  (Just not liking the area I'm in, a lot of back and forth back and forth)

Just so you know, even if you kill about a dozen guys or more before finally being taken down, the game still recommends "Easy". And I've completed the game once already on Normal.

How does it look on 360?

Face animations are not as good as Mass Effect 3 however they do look very good, environments look good enough from what i have seen in the tutorial swamp place, lighting is nice and colourful, the castle level i'm doing now has poor draw distance.

Music is very good.

I still don't even know how i got that sword symbol to pop up when blocking.

Do i have to block at the right time for the sword symbol to appear and then attack quickly asap?

I rarely use blocking and i don't roll around. I just spam X and A. Maybe when i get better i will use it but so far i am atrocious at the combat.
