Also, Witcher 2 looks fantastic with 3D Vision using a gefore gtx 680. Batman: Arkham City still has it beat though.

Sure you will...
Scouts honor! I've got stuff to get done by the weekend. Besides, I'm sure I can hold off until then. It's not like I left my xbox on with the disc tray open to cut down on seconds to start playing.

That 10 gig I predownloaded apparently was all corrupted, so no EE yet for me. Ah well, wouldn't really have the time to play until the weekend anyway, what with that dreaded thing known as "work".
No, sir! Just the first two packs. To quote myself:

1. Download part 1 & 2 from this site: en.thewitcher.com/ee_manual/
2. Overwrite the pre-downloaded part 1 & 2 data wherever you put it with the downloader.
3. Click the patch.exe.
It should work now.

Got a new video card on order. Compared to mine it is about 7 -10 steps above so that should help. I'll continue plugging through the first one in the mean time (Just not liking the area I'm in, a lot of back and forth back and forth)
So what card did you get?
GeForce GTX 560 A GDDR 5 1GB
On sale at the supplier I ordered from, Not gonna go any higher since I'll be getting a new PC in the near future so no real point.

That sword symbol, the Riposte prompt, appears when you've been in blocking animation for a while (at least half a second) and your opponent starts their attack while you're still blocking. Note that you need to buy the skill in the skill tree before it becomes available, the tutorial let's you have the skill earlyNaughty Bear wrote...
[I still don't even know how i got that sword symbol to pop up when blocking.
Do i have to block at the right time for the sword symbol to appear and then attack quickly asap?
I rarely use blocking and i don't roll around. I just spam X and A. Maybe when i get better i will use it but so far i am atrocious at the combat.
Once you have the skill, I find it easier to just check for when enemy's attack animation starts and then press the Light Attack button. If I succeed, I Riposte, if I fail, I get one Light Attack in.
Also, you *really* need to use dodging. Being surrounded is no joke; until you get the appropriate skill, Geralt deceives double damage from backstabs and you need to move out of range ASAP. Plus the same applies to enemies too. Dodge behind their backs and start slashing

And I don't know what CDPR did, but TW2 is running better on my PC now! I can play on highest settings again (have a memory problem).

It looks better but I swear it's a stretched 720p video.
I'm having problems with the textures unfortunately.
Is anyone else experiencing this?

Just so you know, even if you kill about a dozen guys or more before finally being taken down, the game still recommends "Easy". And I've completed the game once already on Normal.Naughty Bear wrote...
I just got dominated on the tutorial. Easy recommended
That's odd, I've played through the game a few times, but decided to do the tutorial and it recommended Dark Mode for me.

Thanks to Costin we know what happened with Shani! Great way to end it imo seems very realisitic and you always felt Geralt was uncomfortable with well settling down in Witcher 1.

Okay, now i have just brought the parry ability.
Why is the magic, alechemy and swordsmanship routes blocked?

Sure sure, I bought TW2 for 49.99, but then they gave me (if done by EA or Activision ) 50 dollars worth of content over the last course of a year.

You need 6 points in the first tree to unlock the others.

They are blocked out until level 8 to make sure you don't skip the essenal spells (witcher branch)

No it's not, and I am a Shani fan. It follows exactly what is mentioned by both Geralt and Shani in TW1.

How exactly? Didn't you play Witcher 1? He did question how he can live a normal life. He had his identity crisis and ultimately it fits with his personality.

Does anybody know if the EE changes the no-brainer decision regarding Triss in Act 3? Has it more consequences to not save Triss this time? After finding out that Letho saves Triss regardless I never took that path again, since I could get my girl back and actually do something good for the Pontar Valley / Temeria.
