Only Radovid can fullfill a lifelong ambition and still look unamused.

The spoiled noble brats of Temeria are going to have a lot of fun when The Stern puts his boot on their necks.

Wow. I just finished the game a little while ago for the first time. What an effing story. I've gotta say that this is an RPG done right. I felt like I made more important decisions in this game than I did in Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3.

My only complaint is that the radar is an absolute nightmare to deal with in certain areas.  (The Dwarven city).

Favorite moments: The hangover mission, The Lesbomancy (BROFIST!), the troll helping me find my readhead humie, and the Cynthia quest in Loc Muinne (I think it's new to the Extended Edition).

I ended up sparing Cynthia, and then ploughing her at the inn later on. I'm terrible.

I'm excited to see how my decisions will play out in TW3. I made some questionable ones that I think will come back to haunt me.. but I'm still looking forward to it. Purchasing the Dark Edition with no knowledge of this game was a good gamble. I'm now going to try and play through the first game.

Play Roche's path!
Glad you liked it!

Out of curiosity, what is it you liked about the story?

It will be something of a shock. They made so many changes to the second game.

Thanks! I'm definitely going to do a Roche playthrough..

Well, I liked almost everything with the story. It would be shorter to explain what I didn't like. I'm not really sure how my story differs from Roche's since I took the Iorveth path. I'll probably have to play both of them before I can explain it in more detail. A few people told me it had a lot of plotholes but I didn't notice any on my first playthrough. One thing I didn't like was how Triss was gone for a large chunk of the game. It almost didn't feel essential to the main plot, like people doing wrong to Triss was the only way that they could portray negative qualities in people (Letho, Cynthia, Sile, ect.)  I'm hoping that she'll play a bigger part in the next one.

About the decision making, I felt it was almost perfect in the sense that they didn't try and push any particular one on you. I didn't feel like I was picking someone else's definition of "right and wrong", but my own. Which made the game feel more personal and unique, to me at least. It's what all true RPG's should do.  All of the major choices had both obvious major upsides and downsides, with promises that there are much more less obvious reapercussions to come (I think).

Don't worry... I played Mass Effect 2 before the 1st one. THAT was a shock.

The plotholes are few and far in between and pretty minor imo.
I think they are saving Triss up for TW3 when Yennefer gets invooved as well, which should be interesting.

The story differs quite a bit from path to path, but you need to play it to see. I was surprised at how well executed both paths are and how different they are when I played my 2nd playthrough. And more importantly, the fact that I found both very appealing.

Oh yeah, I have no doubt that they will deliver. I hope we will be given a choice between Triss and Yennefer. I was surprised we were never given the oppurtunity to tell Triss that you love her in TW2, it's always just "I really care about you" or something.

Do you guys think any more DLC will be coming out?

More minor DLC ..maybe. They've already given so much free stuff away.

Gotta say, I've noticed many minor things in the EE. The occasional extra room to explore, the fact they shortened the meditation cut scene, the ability to hold down guard key and then attack, with both swords. And now we can see total weight when we loot. I've also noticed some gentle nudging here and there to help people complete side quests. I suppose it was inevitable.

Hello, my friend!  I have extremely high optimism that CD Projekt Red will release DLC.  From this interview, it seems like they plan on supporting the game in some way until the 2014/2015 (too. far. cannot. wait.) rumored follow up.

In any case, I look forward to what they've got in store this year.  I wish they had a bunch of other games that I could get lost in for the time being!

also: lulz @ the horrible cosplay in that article.

We do, in the rose garden, in a pretty obvious way just without actually saying the words. That's just how Geralt is.

Yeah, I think I did that but at the end he called Triss his "friend" anyway. It's not a big deal for me. I'd just like the option to commit to someone in the next game.

OoooOOoo. That article has me excited.

"
One of these is [a] new IP."

The Witcher in space plz.

It seems like they're really depending on next gen consoles to come out soon. You've gotta love their attitude: "We're so far ahead of the standards, we're going to give the industry 2-3 years to catch up so we can release these legendary games for you biiitches."

And yeah... AHHH @ that cosplay. Not that I could do better myself but... well I wouldn't attempt it.

Heh, yeah I was wandering aimlessly around Vergen a lot, too.  Wishing Geralt had an amulet with GPS capability.  lol

Advice to those doing Iorveth's path, memorize the archways that lead to Philippa's and to the town mayor's houses right away and save yourself some time.

After reading the Witcher wiki about the Emperor of Nilfgaard....well, thats certainly interesting.

I really cannot wait for The Witcher 3. TW2 with the EE content (having only watched it so far and not actually played it) does a great job of providing closure and with that last scene with Nilfgaard invading, does a great job at teasing for a future game. BioWare should take note.

Although, I will be curious to see how they handle imports. I guess it depends on what the plot of TW3 is and how much the Northern Kingdoms feature into things. Certain characters like Radovid or Triss or even Phillipa are alive no matter what, so I'm guessing other characters that might be able to be killed will get the short end of the stick, in terms of any narrative continuity.

*fans self*  TW3 plus a new IP with similar values to The Witcher (but likely a shooter type)...  I feel faint.  :o

At this point after playing a majority of Witcher 1, recently finishing Witcher 2, and reading up on the company and their stance on creating games...

I'm glad I'm not the only one. It took me until the end of Act 2 to figure out the main layout. Even then, the waypoint can be so misleading. One of the missions on Vergen is still bugged too. The one where you investigate the poisoning by visiting the priests house. I forgot the name.. but it didn't show up on the radar for me and when I figured out where his house was it wouldn't proceed with the next step in the quest.

SCI-FI as well. I bet they will make something like Mass Effect but without the bull****.
