In retrospect it's a bit jarring they didn't have Nilfgaard have a hand in Jacques' scheme of overthrowing the northern monarchies and having their populations move down south.

I wouldn't be happy with a religious fanatic leading hundreds of thousands of people in my lands, disrupting order along the way, with an army of giant mutants.

Jacques was playing his own game and he fooled his primary funder, which is Redanian intelligence.

Maybe that was that 'favor' that Redania made to Nilfgaard?

@Jan Bartkowicz

Hello! Thanks for popping into the thread and also for your excellent work on the Witcher. Would you happen to know who wrote the dialogue for the sorceresses? Particularly, Philippa. Aaaand... also who did Saskia? I'm really happy to see strong female characters in a game who can stand on their own and aren't weak or damsels in any sense. It's a nice change!

Lastly, how do I send a beer of their choice to the people who wrote the dwarves in Vergen and the trolls?

What do you think Cynthia means when she warns Geralt "not to trust Letho"?

She says that before Geralt knows the complete scheme, doesn't she?

I took it as a general advice since Letho is... how did Philippa (was it Philippa?) put it? The king of liars of the emperor of traitors?

That was Sile.

You know someone is a magnificent bastard when the Lodge of Sorceresses admit that someone outplayed them when it comes to lying and decieving.

If what Letho said was the actual scheme...

I find Cyntia's advice as disturbing, since this is said by an Nilgaardian agent who is abviously sympathetic towards Geralt.

Jan Bartkowicz: I am curios but could you give us the full the name of the lead Witcher 2 writer.

Also could you perhaps clarify exactly what happened to Ves? I mean with the whole line from Geralt : "Ves is lying"

About what exactly is she lying?

P.S. Thanks for writing such epic stuff, to you and the other writers. I just love listening to the dialogue.

Yeah, Cynthia seems to grasp just how clever Letho truly is. I just couldn't let him go in the end anyway. Despite him helping Triss and the history he and Geralt had. He seemed too dangerous. Though my next Geralt is gonna be more merciful for the most part so I'll have one save at least where I can let him go.
I have to admit that I did imagine Letho in golden armour and with long blond hair on one occassion though. A byproduct of being the Kingslayer, haha.

He is very dangerous. That's why I love the son of a ****.

Jaime Lannister doesn't really compare to him. Letho is smarter, more manipulative, and doesn't give a damn for honor. Oh Jaime is an awesome character but really not on Letho's level.

Actually if I was to compare to any Song of Ice and Fire character I would go with hmm....Bronn I guess?

Jaime is more likeable. Though he's pretty much the opposite of Letho. At least in terms of how he's perceived by the people around him for the most part. Though I didn't mean to compare the two. Just that the title of Kingslayer reminded me of him and thus the humorous image I got of Letho in return.

I've got a question though, concerning Magic in Witcherverse. Are there any rules to it? Can it be used to do pretty much everything? I did laugh when Triss used it to undress of all things.
How do Signs differ from regular Magic? Do Sorceresses and Wizards draw power from the same pool of magic? Can they do the same things?

Magic is a part of science in the Witcher's world. In short, it's power that is stored in all elements and skilled or talented individual can tap it and use it to alter the physical world. Of all elements, only water is thought to be to some extent predicable. Therefore water-derived power is used most often and magic students as well as weaker sorcerers are strongly discouraged from using any other element. Still, some level of unpredictability is present even in the water, which is minimalized by the use of spells, i.e. standardized methods for taping and using of power. Research is conducted by the most skilled as well as by the most foolish of socerers.

Said that, fire is the most unpredictable, yet it's by far the easiest element to tap to. Therefore the abilities "Sources" or people who have an inborn (as opposed to taught) talent to magic are chaotic to highest degree.

I don't remember who wrote the sorcereses.
Trolls were written by Arkadiusz Borowik.
Dwarves were a collaboration (I wrote most of the inn dialog in the beginning of the immortele quest, and the lesbomancy part. Arkadiusz Borowik wrote most of everything else.
Geralts says Ves lied in regard to her telling Roche that Henselt just let her go.

Arkadiusz did a good job with the Trolls. I found them very likable and adorable even.

Geralts says Ves lied in regard to her telling Roche that Henselt just let her go.

So he let her go in exchange for her having sex with him? What was the mentality of having Henselt do that? He just came off as a dick who was doing it for the evil lulz and I always felt it was done as a reason to portray Henselt as  "evil", which frankly was a bit dissapoininting.

Thanks for the other answer.

It was nice to hear from the writers in the recent interview where 'Jesse goes to Poland' vid. I particularly liked this comment: "We hate stupid games, we work here so that we can make games that are not stupid." lol. Got points from me. Link well worth checking out guys:

Also, props to FWH for giving away Extended Edition of Hard Reset for free.

Why the assassin from the Witcher 1 outro is not even mentioned in the game?

I didn't do any "from W1 to W2" plot elements (that's just Sebastian), so I have no idea.

He was mentionned once or twice. I could swear I saw a fourth witcher in one flashback before, but now I didn't see it again.

But Letho makes no mention of him at all. And that was dissapointing.

Assassitation attempt obviously was mentioned and an additional shadowy figure did appear on one flashback plate, but the assassin himself was not even mentioned. I found it especially strange when Letho explained their advantures in the final conversation and didn't even bother to say anything about him despite mentioning specifically Serrit and Auckes.

Very true, but I don't know if his identity is pivotal to the storyline or if we're supposed to understand that he was simply just someone from Letho's school.
