I don't know why, but those armored soldiers doing pushups is one of the coolest things I've seen about this game. I mean, the npc's aren't just walking or standing around, they're doing stuff. The world feels alive.

My favorite was seeing the villagers actually looking for food in the forest and that human basically shaking down the dwarf "brokens arms make it harder to make craft" nice to see even the criminals are hard at work!

The best is actually sheathing the weapon and townsfolk begging the witcher 'please don't'... and the guards became hostile. Awesome!

I thought he was trying to get dwarf join a guild. Basically implying that the dwarf's smithy might "accidentally" burn, if he didn't join the guild

I doubt it. Being a small town in a forest I doubt we see any people who believe in human/nohuman coexistence. One of the great things about Witcher 1. People were openly racist so it added to the atmosphere that is until you went to a "high class" area where everyone preferred talking behind someone's back.

The complete seen dialog is: "Shame. Please think it over. The guild helps and protects. And accidents do happen. Fires are common enough in smithies. And a broken arm can make it very difficult to forge swords"

It's explained somewhere that dwarves have integrated better to human cities than elves. From The Witcher wiki:
"Of all the elder races, the dwarves have assimilated best and many now live in human cities. They run businesses and are often wealthy, although they meet with disdain and distrust."

Doesn't mean everyone has to treat them like people though. Looks more like a shakedown for money then an invitation to a guild. But I'm just speculating.

Looks like a russian copy has already been leaked, but from what I know from the presentations, the DRM requires you to download a file, meaning it probably won't be cracked till release date

Whats sad is the GoG version of Witcher will most likely be put up on torrent sites. Shame really. I really hope CDPR sells a lot.

Sad but true, pretty much everything gets torrented these days. Still, I hope at least some of those people will like it enough to buy it. The Premium Edition looks pretty delicious, all those extra things even though it's at a standard game price yum^_^.

CDProject should leak a version with a virus in it, that makes the PC of those that play it burn down all their hard drives. Hearing of such a day would give me fuzzy feelings inside.

The Witcher 2 Age Ratings

As preparations continue for the impending international release of The Witcher 2 on May 17, CD Projekt RED announces that ratings have been received from the agencies listed below for the retail versions in their respective countries and regions:

ESRB (US, Canada)
M (Mature 17+)
Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, Use of Drugs

USK (Germany)
16+

BBFC (UK)
18
Contains very strong language, strong sex and bloody violence

PEGI (Pan-Europe)
18
Violence, Bad Language

Australian Government classification Board
Mature (MA 15+)
Strong violence, sex scenes, nudity and coarse language

In order to obtain the rating in Australia, CD Projekt RED was unexpectedly obliged to make small changes to game content relating to the topic of sex as a reward. Since these changes are quite minor, especially relative to the total amount of content, they are unlikely to significantly affect the overall play experience.

“From the time we started developing The Witcher 2, our goal was to create a single international version. So, we are happy the game will be available almost everywhere exactly as we envisioned it. At the same time, we are disappointed that because Australia’s rating system for computer games does not go above MA 15+, we had to make two small content changes in order for our game to be distributed there at all. I would like to assure our Australian customers that we aware of the situation in their market, and will do everything we can to support them,” stated project lead Adam Badowski.

Pathetic. More censorship, and CD red has to oblige yet again.

It's either that, don't sell it in Austraila or sell it and be fined a lot of money.

Stupid that the Aussie's rating system only goes to 15+ and even worse is that of all the things in the game sex as a reward is what they find to be too much.

I said Aussie friends should just support the game.. The sexual content is not really a huge fuss. If you are not going to buy a game for merely a sidequest, then they should probably look for japanese hentai games.

Also, there's nothing much to worry about as most probably there'll be mods out there that can be easily accessible to add it back.

Sex as reward: unnacceptable

Chopping off heads: acceptable

Ok...I get it.

Honestly I thought TW2 would be refused classification in Australia.
I wonder how the aussie audience feels about this.

On a different note I think its a matter of time before their certification board will reform.
Eventually they must realize its absurd.
