Sabrina has too much makeup, but that's a sorceress for you. I lol'ed at Geralt asking Sile, "Is that lipstick?" as they're about to fight the kayran.
One reason I like Triss, because at least in TW2 she grubs up a bit.
@ Costin- She might be over 40, but some people sound older than others. The English VO sounds younger and the Polish like maybe she's hitting the smokes. Not that it's a bad voice, just sounds so different it doesn't seem like Triss to me.
Sorcerers have extended lifespan. Geralt´s mother looks younger than him. Yennefer is in her 90s (probably around 100 now), and so on. I thought Polish Triss voice fitted her. But after TW1 Spanish dubbing I´d probably find any alternative better.

One thing that annoys me and is more apparent on my EE playthrough, is how many copy/paste faces there are on civilians. And even many of the women especially, like the different sorceresses, have really similar looking faces and similar facial structure.
Yes agreed, too many clones in random NPCs.
Cedric for instance should have had a different more unique design. Heck, I think the guy with the eye patch should have been Cedric.
Would've helped if Cedric wasn't wearing a Scoia'tael uniform too.

Am I just imaging stuff or do the graphics looks worse in the EE? I play on medium-low settings anyway but it seems that certain textures and effects ( like Ignii) have been changed or nerfed. Any high end screenies of the EE vs 2.0 would be welcome.
I thought it looks better actually, playing on highest setting minus ubersampling. And it performs much better and smoother too.

A nice perk of the EE is the game now detects the mods I've installed and allows me to switch them on or off from the DLC menu.

Didn't realise they were using the exact same model for them.

Thing is Addai women in Eastern Europe sound a lot harsher then those in North America/Western Europe. Especially when they are talking in their native tongue. So Triss doesn't sound so old to me when talking about Polish VA.

Couple of problems I've noticed though, the voices have random peaks and valleys in volume. I have to turn it way down low if I'm playing late at night or the random shouting will wake the whole house.
Another is that quest markers aren't showing on my map for certain quests, is this a bug or just part of the experience? I need to go to the cemetary near Lobinden on the Troll Trouble quest but I spent over an hour looking for it last night to no avail. I had the same problem with the Scent of Incence quest, the hideout didn't come up on my map and I found it purely by accident.

The maps are pretty useless. I'm thinking it's part of the "we're not going to hold your hand" philosophy.Druss99 wrote...

The cemetery is on a side path just to the left of the main route into the forest heading east from Flotsam/ Lobinden. It overlooks Lobinden, so you don't go far out of the village before you need to turn. IIRC the path branches right up to the burglar camps, and left to the cemetery. You might not have seen the left fork.

And wow, Vergen is a veritable maze. It's taken me a couple of days, but I finally know my way around.

Thanks. I don't think I've come across that path at all actually, but atleast now I've some idea of what I'm looking for, which makes a huge difference.
I thought at first it was to do with the game not holding my hand, but it makes little sense if thats what its up to. Why highlight Ves when I need to talk to her and know exactly where she is, but not highlight an area that I've never been and have no idea where it is? It's highlighted other area's I've never been to, its just those two quests that seem to be affected so far. I enjoy the lack of hand holding but that seems a tad buggy to me.
Very minor complaint though, I'm absolutely loving the game and it's caused me to be late for both a date and a doctors appointment.

I'm absolutely loving the game. I'm still on act 1 but bloody hell Flotsam is one of the most atmospheric places I've ever seen in a game.

Spent 52 hours on my first playthrough because of sightseeing i think
I dont think any of the side quests give you quest markers only the main quests but maybe its been changed. The forest is great to look at but its so easy to get turned around with all those little paths, really adds to the realism and atmospheer.
On subsequent playthroughs you will blaze through shaving off 15 hours easy.

I think I got markers for every quest except for three now, though one was understandable because Geralt didn't know where to go either and I had to investigate.
Thanks to Addai's suggestion I managed to find the graveyard and finish off Troll Trouble. I don't know how many times I ran straight past that path without even noticing it. The haunted hospital quest(can't quite recall its name) left me with a dilemma at the end, I genuinely couldn't decide which was morally the right choice.
I suspect my time will be up around 50 hours too, I'm enjoying it and I'm in absolutely no rush.

Only real hiccups I've come across are shadow and lighting effects whilst in Flotsam, makes faces look a little grainy at times and the occasional texture glitch in cutscenes which CDProjekt may well try to address in a future patch. But this is definitely shaping up to be one of the finest games I've played.

Yeah the first playthrough i had was like a slap in the face. It woke me up to how easy gaming has become..all the hand holding etc. It was refreshing to actually be rewarded for reading the journal and paying attention to npc dialogue.
Also there are many options when it comes to finishing quests ala Deux EX 1. The claws of Madness is a good example although for me it was an easy decision as they had it coming. Prepare to be challenged throughout as the Witcher Universe is gray there are no clear cut decisions. Hope you keep on enjoying it and dont forget you have to play TWICE just to get the full picture.
