So I just saved Dandelion (huge upgrade form his character model in TW1) an had a few conversations with the team. I have to say Triss is coming off really abrasive for some reason. I can't put my finger on it, just hope there isn't a forced alignment between her and Geralt, but I'm pretty sure there will be.

Does anyone know if there's a way to save the other two people in the Flotsam hanging? Just curious if I could save the elf and the thief.

I'm not a big fan of her English VO's, few people are. But it's canon that she's your right hand woman and casual f*ck buddy. So far. That could possibly change in TW3. Basically Zoltan, Dandelion, and Triss are your friends.

you have plenty of options to "strain" the connection. The way you feel about triss is guided, but you can establish how you feel, both in chapter 2 and chapter 3.

*Spoilers for those who have played*

You can choose Roche's path to not actively chase after her, and if you do save her in ch 3, u can say "I don't trust you" and all that. I believe there are more, not sure.

There is no way, and yes the romance if forced.

Great... Hopefully she becomes more likeable later on.

Yeah, thanks for the clarification. You have opportunities to distance yourself from her, but I assume the results of this will be seen in TW3.

I don't really have much of an opinion on her vioce in either direction. I really like Letho's which is interesting since  I hated it in the trailers and dev diaries they released. It's something about her personality that's bugging me a bit.

What's bugging you? She's one of the most down to earth people in the game.

It's still very early on for me in the game. I just got to Flotsam but something about her interactions bug me. Could be the character model or the character reminds me of something/someone I don't like? It's 100% gut reaction so far, but hopefully that changes since I'm loving every other character so far.

Ok. At any rate, you have lots of other ladies to choose from. :innocent:

One particular lady you can choose in Chapter 3 is a major diss towards Triss.

You learn to love Triss. She's awesome after all your avatar is Jack.

2 pt and I still can't get myself to gaf about Triss. I think it's the terrible voice acting that's putting me off.

I wouldn't mind if they got another voice actor for her in witcher 3, at least you can put some distance between her and Geralt.

I don't mind her voice but the more I think about it I don't find her character all that compelling tbh.

Rather have Cynthia as my Geralt's waifu.

I don't mind Triss so far, though from what I've seen I do prefer Yennefer in Blood of Elves, she amused me. I don't quite trust Triss for some reason, but I've only got as far as the Elven Baths and don't have anything other than a vague gut feeling to go on.

Funny you should say that. Have you played TW1? Cause there is reason not to fully trust her...maybe. Which is why I find her compelling.

Never got past Vizima, I think the furthest I managed to get was just after the cockatrice. I loved the world and all but found the gameplay of TW1 really off-putting, playing on my laptop isn't ideal either. I must read the story on the wiki actually now that I think about it.

If she turns out to be anything like SuZe, then I'll love her to bits.

Oh, btw thanks for the skill help, saved my ass from dying so far.

Triss challenges Geralt, but I see this as a positive.  She has her own agenda and always has, but she has also always liked him and supported him.  And has always been willing to roll in the hay with him.  I don't see the problem.  Posted Image

Of course, I like Triss and in my games she's winning Geralt over.  I see her as a mediating force for the sorceresses, more down to earth than the others, and compassionate as well.  I didn't mind her voice acting, but even if I did it would be offset by having the best character model for a female mage I've ever seen.  I love this concept art dearly.

If Geralt learnt the things she allowed Yennefer and Ciri to go through by following the Lodge´s plans, he wouldn´t forgive her. And she knows.

While I understand her, not mentioning Yennefer (her best friend) until Geralt remembered himself , and being a member of the Lodge makes me distrust her a lot.

LOL, you guys are making it seem like I'm attacking your best friend. I'm playing a bit more in a few, hopefully there's more of her character this time around to influence me.

Lots of people hate Triss actually. A rather contentious character in both games. But you're just starting out so it's a moot point for now.

As a character, Triss can go either way for me. I don't like her that much but I don't really dislike her either. Her voiceacting in Witcher 2 is really unfortunate though. She sounds bored and also... unnaturally silent compared to everyone else in the game. It's awkward.

I do think it was too bad that they wrote Triss into Witcher 2 a bit forcefully despite players maybe opting for Shani in the first game. As such, I find Triss to be a bit too... integral to the overall game. And it makes me wonder how they will handle the choices in the Witcher 3.

The benefit to characters being integral are that they can do deep characterization for them. It's the same advantage in having Geralt be a fairly pre-formed character. It's always a compromise, but it makes more sense for Triss to be integral than Shani IMO.

I see Shani as a piece of ass for Geralt. What the hell could she do in TW2? She's not anywhere as capable as Triss. My thoughts are, she made her way into TW1 as a romantic counterpart to Triss, and nothing more. And yet everyone is clamoring to have her back. I think it's ridiculous.

I'd prefer having the Talking Ghoul and the Gambling Ghost return tbh. The former could bring a posse of Ghouls to have Geralt's back against the black ones if he was spared.
