Loredo is 100 times more memorable then the vast majority of the Bioware characters, save for a few like Loghain, Saren, TIM ( pre-ME3 ) etc. The reason so many people are bashing Bioware persephone is that they are ****ing tired of being treating like complete and utter morrons.

If you believe that we are violating forum rules by "bashing bioware characters in their forum" then just report it. If I get banned for it, you'll be happy. If not, then you'll have to deal with me doing it again and again if I deem it necessary or pertinent. It's as simple as that.

Disappointing indeed. As is fixing the Shani issue through a codex. I hope Act III really kicks butt now. The game is still amazing but that's two major issues of mine being handwaved so far.....

I deem my comparison perfectly pertinent. There is not a single NPC, baring people like Loghain or Saren, in ME or DA that I can think of that was as well written and presented as Loredo. And that's just Loredo, I didn't even go into people like Henselt yet.

If you believe that the statement is incorrect, then give arguments. Don't attempt to silence me because of the fact that I am in a bioware forum. If you can't be bothered to do that, then better just leave it be and move on.

What? The way CDPR handled Shani and Geralt's breakup (?) was great. Felt real and not forced. I wouldn't want to see Shani in the game since well she has no reason to be out in the Pontar Valley.

Anora. Hackett. Legion. Zaeed. Cauthrien. Bhelen. I could name more that I thought were amazingly written but I'm afraid our tastes in writing clash way too much. I for one didn't think Loredo was all that well written. Henselt....a capable leader but not a very interesting character to me. He IS well written, mind you. But I wouldn't call him complex ala Radovid. Or Dethmold, whom I consider to be fascinating.

Well I see two problems with that. CDPR would have to get Triss's VA backin for just a few lines of dialogue and the second why bring up something like that ultimately Triss ends up with Geralt live and let die and all that.

Philippa Eilhart beats the crap out of Anora so bad, it's not even funny. Plus, her role in Origins was weak and the politics behind her were decent at best. 
Hackett has no character, he just has a cool voice and follows a stupid plan.
Legion is a companion, who happens to be a walking codex in the 2nd one anyways.
Zaeed virtually has no character. He's just there to be a badass.
Cauthrien with one or two lines?
Bhelen is a more likeable character, but in terms of presence in the story, Loredo was better executed. Bhelen only shines if you play the Dwarf noble origin.

If by complex you mean having several dimensions, then Henselt is definitely complex. More so than Dethmold.
What you find fascinating is a different issue.

Well, they could have edited dialogue to reflect it. Maybe not have you wake up with her but keep the rose of rememberance scene.

Dunno, the more I hear about Yennefer, the less interesting Triss becomes.

Explain it to me then just what you think makes him complex. As in: More than a competent if abrasive character who knows no scruples & is useful to keep alive? (Which is refreshing but hardly complex) Asking sincerely here. I often miss stuff and love to read more in depth observations.

I think Bioware puts more emphasis on characters and CDPR on plot. I like characters from both companies but what rubs me the wrong way about Bloware is the overall flavor of their games. They seem to be creeping more and more into Michael Bay/Hollywood territory, while playing TW2 reminds me of watching a really good foreign film.
