Obviously. I wonder who is in charge of who. Thaler of Roche or the other way around.

I think neither.

Thaler handles intelligence. Roche is Foltest's blunt arm when he needs it.
Both are directly commanded by Foltest.

I would dare say they run independent... and cooperating. Talar is intel, Roche's spec-ops.

I really liked the Thaler "non-cameo" in TW2. Hearing that messenger say "P.S you really ****ed up at the castle" in the same manner he would have said was awesome.

Better than Biowarian e-mails by a landslide.

So... did anyone incorporate two adrenaline abilities in their build for Geralt?

Cause it's a thing of beauty to pull off a Group Finisher and a Heliotrope Sign at the same time. :P

Ach, this game is so beautiful.  Not just the visuals but everything- camera, timing, and every line of dialogue.  It's so well done.  CDPR should be very proud.  :wizard:

Iorveth and Letho in one shot... that's too much badass for one cavern.

I mean, look at the detail!  Not only are weapons not floating, that's one beautiful ass... I mean scabbard.

Ok, enough gushing.

It's almost like your playing it for the first time =P

I do love the detail on that scabbard! Incredibly detailed.

The Witcher 2 on my PC never looked so good (and of course it can't on xbox) :/
Maybe I should upgrade (been saying that for at least a year)

This game is no slouch on the 360 either, which according to many are just 'medium settings' on the PC.

On a slightly unrelated note, I really hope this game inspires Bioware to improve the visual design of the next Dragon Age. DA: Origins' visuals were alright, and DAII (despite the repeating dungeons) was okay. But compared to The Witcher 2's visuals they look like frigging cartoons.

I was a bit dissapointed that EE for PC comes without lighting change. In the prologue when you go up the siege tower Xbox ver. beats the pc by a headlong. I mean, why do pc have this blue light thing coming from between the whoodden walls? Its much better on the xblocks in many a times (the lighting and colours). I see nothing changed in this department after EE patch - was it supposed to change any ot the graphical tweaks?

I'm playing dark mode now... and the enemies are not so tough :/ I dont even use potions... strange.

Yeah, I finished the game on Dark (on Xbox) the other day and it was really easy, just a lot of Quen + dodging.
Probably it's because I played it already on PC, don't know.

Didn't have a problem with regular enemies on dark but the Golem in Letho's hideout either got glitched or superbuffed on me bugger wouldn't stop charging and kept pinning me in a corner...three reloads before i could finally get a yrden down to slow it up.

I dont use quen even :], just spam and multitask different signs. And I think blocking/parade is bugged. It says no damage taken on parrying WHEN vigor is full. But when its depleted I still take no damage. I wonder if its the blade I got with -10 damage reduction on block and armour I got to prevent from healt damage.

According to the devs it was between Medium & High, but closer to the High than the Medium setting however.
I think this was mentioned on that video of Jesse Cox visiting CDProjekt slimgrin posted the other day.

The difference between the xbox and PC version is more than just resolution. Colors are different, effects are as well - like explosions and magic, and character models have been tweaked. Some filters have been removed too, which gives the xbox cleaner lighting during cut scenes.

I can tell you that the 'medium settings' bit is a piece of marketing speak though, cause there is no way the xbox version even approaches medium settings.

@hangman's. Be sure to check which gear you have, that may be reducing your damage on block. I haven't experienced any inconsistancies regarding parry so far. It's been buffed and is now more useful. Enemies still do massive damage in dark mode as far as I can tell.

Ha, not only the visuals. I've found a new appreciation for the animations.
I especially love the ones where Geralt's charging at an distant foe, the "jump stab", being my favourite :P

Why couldn't Dragon Age 2 have something like that? Instead of that laughable teleport sliding?

The animations for the Geralt and Letho dueling in the Elven Ruins and in the Temerian camp are superb.

Combat remains my least favorite part of the game, but it's personal preference, I hate twitch combat. I'm really just lazy. Who wants to fumble for five different keys while you're getting pounded. It's annoying.

I miss the old style look in the menus, too. The modern looking fonts and interface aren't as fun.

I really believe that DA2 should not be mentionned anymore as attempting to compare it to TW2 is an insult to the latter.

Anyways, yes the animations are really good. And though the EE improved facial animations (though for some reason weakened them in some convos), they still need to improve in that regard. Also more body animations during convos would be good as well.

Since the REd engine is done, now they can devote time and resources to use it to its fullest potential.

I should quit hounding you about this, but...

-heavy use of the radial menu makes it closer to the pause and play of Dragon Age. Somewhat. It also reduces the number of keys to use. I think it's a great feature even though I rarely use it.

-If you are patient, using alchemy is da bomb.

- what difficulty are you on?

I play on normal difficulty, but I'm comparing combat from TW1 to TW2. The radial menu doesn't bother me though it doesn't really pause the game, unlike in TW1. I suppose that's because pausing is for n00bs. I realize I'm probably in a minority, but I really dislike the combat changes and don't think it's as fun to watch Geralt in action either. Probably because it's more hectic and early on one moment's inattention is deadly, so who has time to admire his form.

I bought the Prima guide and it includes some interviews with the devs. One of them admitted combat wasn't perfect due it being made from scratch, but that it establishes a solid foundation for future games. Music to my ears, but the death knell for gamers who prefer TW1 combat.

Personally I wouldn't mind a different type of dodge mechanic to replace the roll. Feels like I'm playing Legend of Zelda sometimes with how much I use it. Hell with 200% it gets ridiculous enough to where you travel faster spamming roll.

I hate the roll. :P While Geralt sometimes did a ninja roll in TW1 to close distance, having to roll around like a dumpling all the time feels ridiculous. Most of the time I'm too lazy to do it and hence I die. Oh well.
