It's like what Jamuka once said: "There can be no two suns in the sky, just like there can't be two Khan's"

That was Ghenkis Khan's friend. I feel though that in a marriage, especially a political one, there can be a great sense of rivalry.

Similar to the quote I usually use "There can't be two swords in one scabbard."

It's awesome when two of your favorite characters clash so epicly. It's rare for a game or any other medium to have a rivalry where I like both sides almost equally (which is to say a lot).

Iorveth is willing to fight for Saskia, not just for the cause.

Because Saskia represnts a unified Upper Aerdirn, like the whole point of the Prince Stennis v Saskia conflict is supposed to show.

You don't know that, Costin.  The dwarf implies that he's in love with Saskia but it's never stated anywhere that I'm aware of, and when you see Iorveth's dream it's of a home and plentiful food, not of sex with the busty dragon.

The funny part is that I had thought I had seen the worst with Roche cutting off Dethmold's balls.

What Radovid did to Phillipa, the way that entire scene is handled....well that was horrific.

Addai: It's Zoltan who mentions it, in a rather epic manner I might add, and if you rescue Saskia from the curse then Geralt points it out to Saskia that Iorveth loves her.

Very true. It's rare for me to wholly like (or appreciate, for that matter) a character whose goals or morals I completely disagree with, or is contrary to what I'm RPing as... and CDPR pulls it off well.

I think Iorveth does love her, but not in a sexual manner and I do not think that was what was driving him.

I think he is in love with what Saskia represents.

Well what do either of them know?  Point being you never hear or see it from Iorveth himself.  It's possible, it might be part of his wanting to finally have a home somewhere.  But you're the one who's always demanding proof in the game before you accept something as true.

After hearing Zoltan talking about Iorveth stealing glances at her ****** I kinda found it hard not to believe that heh.

I think Iorveth also cares about what she represents for him: His last hope.

Or is that just me?

Yeah, even though i think Iorveth's an ass hole and want to see his head on a pike in my canon run I can't help but love the son of a **** and respect his beliefs.

There is more to that conversation with Zoltan, but I don't remember it all.

Knight: He was stealing glances at her ****** when she wasn't looking, I'd say he is attracted to her. Which is perhaps the biggest irony of it all since she did take the form of a human.

I punched the air with glee as the mistress of lies had her eyes removed. She was always so haughty and proud secure in her belief that she had control over everyone. It seems that Radovid learned his lessons a little too well for her liking as he outmanouvered her and in doing so gained my respect.

Radovid easily the best monarch after Henselt.

I watched the Enhanced Edition trailer a full month before playing the game so when I saw Philippa (and had seen her bloodied eyes in that trailer), I guessed "Oh, she's going to transform into a Wraith in some lame way, isn't she?"

Thankfully I was wrong and when her prison scene finally came, I went "Oooooh, oooh, ooh, OOOOH SNAYUP SON!"

Usually you don't see scenes like that in games unless one of the game's gimmicks is blatant ultra-violence

The kind of woman you would happily marry? :P I'd be too terrified of her really.

I said it once and I will say it again.

If Radovid and Philippa were happily married, Nilfgaard would have been ****ed (unless Emhyr can outbadass both combined).

Of course he can. He was a hedgehog and its a well known fact that hedgehogs are the most badass animals in existance.

Meh. Easily the best (Northern) monarch period.

Correct Iorveth was sitting at the table smoking his pipe while doing a Ode To Carrots and Chicken

"Oh, carrot, tasty carrot,
With even fat/lard on top,
And also chicken with parsley..."

I remember looking that up after seeing the dream and thinking....he could have invited Geralt to partake in the pipe with him

Considering it says what to do right on the screen and even has symbols for her to match up....she deserves a medal for figuring out how to start the game.....

I've been enjoying my replay of the game rather a lot more than my first playthrough of the game which is nice. Think all in all I really like Roche's path more (which I did on my replay). Did not like Iorveth's path nearly as much.

Must say though, one of the biggest disappointments as far as characters go is definitely Ves. Here we have a character who is kept close to an important character (Roche) and who is supposedly a really great agent.

But what is her role in the game? We have A) very nearly getting raped by Loredo B) getting raped by Henselt and C) offering herself to Geralt when you defeat her in the duel (which is an extremely awkward love scene I might add).

I'm typically not the one to jump out at weak women in games, though it's not something that I like either... But Ves fills an archetype that pisses me off so bad, where the game tries to ensure you that 'oooh, this is one bad-ass chica' but then her character is basically all about being victimized anyways. The game never shows her off as being the supposedly talented agent, she is just their to be saved/enjoyed by Geralt. Too bad.

I'm at a crossroads between irritated and amused.  She is why there's still a stigma against girl gamers.  Le sigh.
