I thought the massacre refers to Geralt killing peasants if he sides with Abigail.

Any ideas who the skeleton is outside Iorveth's hideout near Flotsam, that has a Kaer Mohren sword?

That's a good question, I was wondering that myself.

I don't think there's any particular reason. Just like all those random Nilfgaardian ceremonial sabres or Elven swords scattered around the gameworld.

Considering its an Arachas lair, maybe its a witcher who failed to kill the beast, and fell there in the past? That sword would hint that.

Or that. But that Kaer Morhen title seems to be unnecessary.

I mean, apart from Eskel, Lambert, Coen, Vesemir and Berengar there are not really any other known Witchers from the Wolf School. And I think it's extremely unlikely that any of them would meet their demise in Flotsam.

It would be much cooler if the sword bore the name of the Griffin or Cat school for example, etc.

Hey just seen this thread and thought i would tell people my run through of the game. I played it once so far as i like to play the game the first time making all my decisions ill informed and on instinct. After that i go to the wiki and see the different outcomes.

First of all i sided with Roche, it just felt the natural choice to me, you already build up a relationship with him and work with him and then Iorveth comes along who is hostile to you, you known him 5 minutes and ur meant to choose between them? Roche all day long for me as i felt a bond to him and the Blue stripes and also felt a bond with Temeria due to Foltest and felt as if it was my country.

Then in Act 2 I let Roche kill Henselt, i had a very strong bond to roche at this point in the game and wanted to back up my bro and help him get his revenge, i also wanted revenge as i liked ves and the blue stripes. Prior to that incident though i really did not mind Henselt and saw him as a good king, but you mess with my friends and you are dead. King or no King.

I then saved triss at the end hoping roche would understand that she means a great deal to me and i have helped him alot on the way and will continue to have his back but i need to save triss who is close to me and who i've been searching for the whole game. It bummed me out to see roche on the run in the end with anais and wished he would of come with me and triss with the girl and we could join forces again.

I let letho live, as he told me everything and like he said we were never reallly enemies. He was doing the assasinations to save his witcher school and i am a witcher too so we were not enemies, also we knew eachother from before and were friends and he took care of yennefar. I felt no ill will towards him  and knew he had the chance to kill me in flotsam and did not do so. I felt at peace with him and let him go live his life.

Guys, one thing has been bugging me for a while.

I am currently doing my TW1 playthrough (silly completionist me) and was wondering if the game could import 3 swords into Witcher 2 as well? D'yaebl, G'valchir and Moonblade to be exact.

Before, I always kept just the steel and silver sword.

He knows way more about the Kingslayers than Roche, and you both want to catch them. Inconceivable!

But by choosing him u are basically screwing roche, and u have built up a relationship with roche, him helping u escape prison, bonding with him and the blue stripes, allied under foltest, and your ment to choose to help a hostile rude elf who u hardly spoke to over someone u have bonded with and are friends? I think people who choose iorveth have a bad moral code or loyalty issues.

Yes you can import three swords: 2 steel and 1 silver -> One steel in the main slot, one steel in the extra heavy weapon slot and finally your silver slot. On a sidenote everyone always talks about bringing the moonblade. I always keep the Aerondight. I was knighted with that bad boy and told me and it had a destiny. Even kept it in my inventory at the end of TW2 for possible future import...by then it will probally have worse stats then a broom though.

Just wanted to say, im on chapter 2 of my third playthrough, now on dark mode for the first time, and for the first time ever I think I have found a game that only gets better with each playthrough.

Yea the more you play it, the more you grasp and appreciate its subtelties and the brilliance of the writing team.

I think TW2 is the only game where such level of subtetly exists. Sure there are others with a certain degree of it but nowhere close to the Witcher.

Well Moonblade has better stats then Aerondight which just is slightly stronger then the default silver sword.

Both Witcher game reward multiple runs because there's so much going on its hard to take it all in with one playthrough.

Question: what do people think of the CEO mod? Kindo updated it a few days ago. My last Dark mode run was with this mod installed and I think it does help balance the game out.

I didn't feel all that chummy with Roche at that point.  He saves your life by breaking you out of prison, but it's because he wants to get the real killer, not because he thinks Geralt's such a great guy.  You're allies in finding the kingslayer, that's it.  Mainly I follow Iorveth because he's the fastest ticket to Aedirn and at that point my Geralt's first priority is finding Triss.  That's where Letho is, too, so getting to Aedirn quickly is the best plan and Roche is hung up on Loredo.  Fine for him- he's still working for Temeria and there's espionage afoot in Flotsam- but not Geralt's priority in my game.

I also understand Scoia'tael and don't take Iorveth's attitude personally any more than I take Letho's opposition personally.  Iorveth is programmed to mistrust a dhoine and with good reason.

Foltest was my Geralt's homeboy and so was Siegfried, so that ruled out Iorveth path on my canon run. ;)

I think it's made by someone with no clue what Insane difficulty is.

Roche's first priority is to get the kingslaye and how exactly is Iorveth a faster ticker then Roche? Based on what? It's Roche who has a boat not Iorveth.

Roche wants to hang around Flotsam still, he's preoccupied with Loredo.  Go to Roche and he says "I'm doing this and this here in Flotsam," go to Iorveth and he says "let's get to Aedirn as quickly as possible."  Priorities.

Iorveth has a boat, too.  You just have to borrow it from Loredo.  :)

Iorveth has to take it first. By the time you assault Flotsam Roche already tried to kill Loredo and failed so it's picking Roche that is the fastest way of going to Aedirn.

It would have been nice if Iorveth said what he was trying to accomplish in Aedirn in order to better justify siding with him. As it stands... yeah I don't think so.

For me it's hard cooperating with a person who I just punched in the throat.

For me personally it came down to;

a- Choosing Roche if i wanted to get some payback and also keep my word to catch Foltest's killer.

b- Choosing Iorveth because of Geralt's friends. They look depressed if you go to Henselt's camp. I think if you      were truly committed to Triss you would also go this route as Vengeance takes a back seat.

Nah i dnt see how it is faster going with iorveth and plus you do build up comradery with the blue stripes, (the side mission where u get drunk and so) so you do have a sense of loyalty and trust to them, well i did. Also Iorveth does NOTHING to make me want to give him his sword when my buddies attack. He has threatened to kill me on more then one occasion, he is pretty much a terrorist killing innocent civilians just because they are human, lets not forget that. I will go through the iorveth path for a 2nd playthrough but on my canon run nothing even nearly made me want to side with him. FOR TEMERIA!
