It's obviously different for everyone. If I have the choice I usually do play a female, but Geralt is such an awesome character that I like playing him.Jestina wrote...

Maybe not so bad for the guys, but I find it impossible to get into playing a male character. It's almost always a male too with these pre-generated characters.
Just say that it's not for you- this business about it not being a real RPG is silly. There are threads full of debates on that question and everyone's definition is different. The Witcher games have a lot of classic RPG characteristics, even with the set character and twitch combat.

Geralt is one of the FEW preset male characters I really enjoy to play. I cannot RP AS him but seeing his story unfold based on my decisions sure is a blast.

Personally, while I'd prefer a female character I'll take a pre-defined male character like Adam Jensen or Geralt over the soulless copy and pasted hermaphrodites from schlock like Bioware's games.

Among my top five games EVER. I wasn't being snarky there. Right up there with the Gabriel Knight series.

Anyone have a link to some info on his role as a rider? I must have missed this in the first game, and it's just mentioned with Cynthia. I was taken by surprise too.

I roll all ways when it comes to RPG's - fixed, blank slate, male, female - each have their advantage. In fact I would absolutley love if CDPR's new IP featured a fixed female protagonist. I made a poll on their site about this, and many were open to the idea. I have yet to experience a female protagonist as compelling, witty, socially awkward, in short, as wonderful as I find Geralt to be.

CD Projekt made Geralt come back. And Yennefer possibly too.
Who's to say that Ciri won't come again to kick some Aen Elle ass? Especially after all they've done to her close friends just to find her.
Also, she couldn't be hanging around in Camelot forever.

Well she won't be too happy after she finds out that Eredin stormed her little dream realm and tried to kidnap Yennefer.
Or after the Dearg Ruadhri & Avallac'h will somehow manage to finally track her down.
Believe me, there *will* be payback.
